Metalurgia prehispánica y colonial-republicana en el pacífico colombiano

spa: Este artículo sobre la metalurgia en la región de los ríos San Juan y Calima y, posiblemente, la Bahía de Buenaventura tiene tres objetivos: 1) describir los contextos en los que se recuperaron cinco artefactos de metal junto con el carbón utilizado para fecharlos; la evidencia del período prehispánico y del siglo XVI contribuye a la identificación de posibles zonas de trabajo de los metales, 2) presentar los resultados del análisis preliminar de los cinco artefactos, 3) establecer la importancia de estos objetos para la historia de la orfebrería a lo largo de la costa pacífica de Colombia durante el período prehispánico y durante las épocas colonial y republicana. Las evidencias del río San Juan sobre asentamientos nucleados, agricultura intensiva, metalurgia y sobre posibles cambios en las actividades ceremoniales, constituyen la base de las hipótesis sobre el grado de complejidad social de la zona. Arqueológica e históricamente, el Chocó es una de las regiones menos conocidas de Colombia. Una vez que se hayan podido identificar los mecanismos (tanto externos como internos) que restringieron el crecimiento del poder en manos de los individuos dentro de estas unidades de pequeña escala, el estudio del Chocó contribuirá a la investigación sobre el desarrollo de las estructuras políticas. ; eng: This article on metal-working in the region of the San Juan and Calima rivers and, possibly, the Bay of Buenaventura has three aims: 1) to describe the contexts in which five metal artifacts were recovered together with the charcoal used to date them; evidence from the prehispanic period and from the sixteenth century contributes towards the identification of possible metal-working areas, 2) to present the results of the preliminary analysis of the five artifacts, 3) establish the significance of these objects for the history of gold-working along the Pacific coast of Colombia during the Prehispanic period and during the Colonial and Republican eras. The evidence from the San Juan river on nucleated settlements, intensive agriculture, metallurgy and on possible changes in ceremonial activities, form the basis for hypotheses on the degree of social complexity in the area. Archaeologically and historically, the Chocó is one of the least known regions of Colombia. Once it has been possible to identify the mechanisms (both external and internal), which restricted the growth of power in the hands of individua Is within these small-scale units, the study of the Chocó will contribute to research on the development of political structures.
