Korea: Seoul-Busan corridor project

Abstract

Overview of the transport sector and the railway subsector in South Korea. The basic objective of the project is to assist the Korean National Railways to increase transport efficiency and capacity of rail service in the Seoul-Busan Corridor. It includes: a) institutional and policy measures to improve services that are most profitable; b) measures to improve intermodal complementarity and railway competitiveness; and c) capacity expansion.
