Between 1643 and 1648, the cities of Münster and Osnabrück became the stage for major pan-European negotiations. In terms of both space and time, a dynamic environment emerged where the discursive forms of diplomacy were practiced and reconfigured. The essays in this volume address the dynamics of the peace congress that led to the Peace of Westphalia.
