Abstract

Begins with a description of Western socialism, or social democracy, identifying three key features, or ambitions. This "participatory" socialism, marked by democracy, regulation, & welfare, is deemed conventional, but a "natural" & adverse tendency toward authoritarianism & hierarchy is also seen to operate.
