AbstractThe dispersion of built‐up areas in peri‐urban zones is considered an important, almost irreversible environmental threat, especially in coastal zones and islands. In this paper, we use soil sealing datasets derived from the European Environment Agency in order to estimate the expansion of built‐up areas in the North and South Aegean islands in Greece. We examine these differences in relation to socio‐economic features of the islands, especially tourism development, second home development and size and geographical position of the islands. The findings show divergent levels of soil sealing and a variety of spatial configurations, such as scattered growth of built‐up land in coastal areas and peri‐urban growth in rural areas. Higher cover of the total area of islands by sealed soil is related to tourism, but it seems that second homes are also an important driver, especially for smaller islands located relatively close to Athens. From a planning and management perspective, these findings can assist local or regional administration to assess the effectiveness of land use management plans and manage flows and processes.

Problems faced by the society in Lambanan village are the lack of knowledge and skills of farmers in managing the maintenance goat, the unability of utilizing and processing goat milk and most societies work as goat breeder and farmer. Purpose of this community dedication is to provide skills and the knowledge for the farmers in the Lambanan village about techniques and milking ways as well as handling and processing milk of goat. Method used is partisipative elucidation followed by demonstration and practice. Te training activities which are conducted on 25—26 June 2016 in main hall of Lambanan village ofce, began with in-class learning about maintenance management, handling, processing and marketing management the goat of PE, then followed by demonstrating outside about technique of milking and processing milk of goat pasteurization. Te products of pasteurized goat milk were packaged in glass that was commercialized with label Suke. Te conclusion of this activity shows that the training activities looked very enthusiastic to join this training and actively ask about goat milk processing.

In the aftermath of the European sovereign debt crisis (2009-2014), the management of expectations has risen in importance. However, policy responses have emphasized the management of fiscal spending without examining the impact changes in the business confidence have on the economy. This paper uses a Factor-Augmented Vector Autoregressive specification, which allows for a larger information set covering both domestic and international developments, to measure the responses of five Euro Area economies to a one percent shock in government consumption and business confidence. The evidence suggests that even though the response to a government consumption shock is strong, a shock in expectations has an even greater effect. This points out to the fact that perceptions about the future and trust in the policymaker are much more important than previously considered. Thus, especially in (but not limited to) times of turbulence, or during efforts of stabilization and/or structural reforms, more emphasis should be placed on the overall credibility of the decisions, which could help to mitigate any potential adverse effects from the policies.

Recent decades have seen a rapid movement towards decentralising forest rights and tenure to local communities and indigenous groups in both developing and developed nations. Attribution of local and community rights to forests appears to be gathering increasing momentum in many tropical developing countries. Greater local control of forest resources is a response to the failure of government agencies to exercise adequate stewardship over forests and to ensure that the values of all stakeholders are adequately protected. We reviewed evidence of the impact of decentralised forest management on the biodiversity values of forests and conclude that special measures are needed to protect these values. There are trade-offs between shorter-term local needs for forest lands and products and longer-term global needs for biodiversity and other environmental values. We present evidence of local forest management leading to declining forest integrity with negative impacts on both local forest users and the global environment. We advocate greater attention to measures to ensure protection of biodiversity in locally-managed forests.

CAG has constitutional mandate to audit the accounts of Union and States and is to submit audit reports to Parliament and State assemblies to ensure that executive is accountable to legislatures on public finance management. In the backdrop of recent indigestible reports divulging massive plundering of public funds and resources, the article focuses on what procedure needs to be adopted by the Executive to select the CAG who has duty and powers to question wisdom of the government in expenditure management. The paper also examines what could be the selection method to appoint CAG so that one is able to function towards constitutional responsibility without favour and fear. This article explores whether there exists an explicit and transparent system forappointing the CAG and whether that system facilitates one to remain non-partisan and independent eliminating 'conflict of interest' and 'obligations of reciprocity', and furthermore, as well, examines the needs for constitutional amendments and other legislative changes in the relevant laws.

Nowadays, The Institutional of environmental in regional experinced many changes, its cause of stipulated of Law No. 23 of 2014 on Local Government and Government Act No. 18 of 2016 on Local Government Organization. Rule about central government authority and local government authority on environment aspect that ruled by Act No. 32 of 2009 on Protection and Management of Environment must be adjusted with Act No. 23 of 2014 on Local Government and Government Act No. 18 of 2016 on Local Government Organization. This research analyze about institutional harmonization on statute approaches. It is expected that this research give a knowledge of affairs which central government authority, province government authority, and district/regency government authority clearly especially on environment aspect. The minister of environment and forestry in order to implementing coordinative function, should be obliged to synchronize working program of environment institution between local and central government for making integrated environment management (policy) approaches.

The 9/11 attacks in New York gave a strong impetus to the development of emergency preparedness as a dominant way of conceiving domestic security and risk and uncertainty management, in the United States.This has lead to the development of a set of new practices and activities, gathered and articulated under the preparedness label. The paper stresses that the term does not circumvent a clear and coherent set of ideas and action plans, related to emergency management; rather, it ties together emerging and fast shifting concepts and practices concerned with crisis anticipation, mitigation and disaster recovery. As a consequence, it proposes to re-consider this domain of public policies by conceiving of preparedness as an organizational process, linked to the emergence of a dystopian social and political relationship to the future, in contemporary societies, and aimed at governing coming threats. This processual view allows accounting for both the heterogeneity of preparedness and its institutionalization into a unified field of public action.

The present study aims to find out the relationship between emotional intelligence and reasoning ability of the higher secondary students. Among the population, 724 samples of higher secondary students were selected randomly from Puducherry region. Findings of the study were i) significant difference is found between male and female higher secondary students in their reasoning ability in science on analogical reasoning, classification as reasoning, eclectic reasoning, deductive reasoning and inductive reasoning. ii) Significant difference is found between male and female higher secondary students in their emotional intelligence on intrapersonal awareness. iii) Significant difference is found among government, aided and unaided schools of higher secondary students in their reasoning ability in science on classification as reasoning and eclectic reasoning. iv) Significant difference is found among government, aided and unaided schools of higher secondary students in their emotional intelligence on intrapersonal awareness, interpersonal awareness, intrapersonal management and interpersonal management. v) there exists significant positive relationship between reasoning ability in science and emotional intelligence of higher secondary students.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Female managers in the Polish health care system are seldom a subject of scientific investigation. Material and Methods: This study describes the share and profile of women in health care management positions and explores how and why Polish female health care managers add value to the leadership of health care organizations. Three data collection methods were used including: scoping review, analysis of data from governmental information bases and in-depth interviews with female health care managers. Results: Men comprise nearly twice the number of hospital directors in Poland as compared to women, or 67% of the total representation. Traits often attributed to women including strength, perseverance, multi-tasking, empathy, emotional intelligence and intuition add value in leadership roles. Polish women managers value the complementarity of genders in professional roles and their contribution to constructive collaboration. Conclusion: The study contributes to the scarce literature on Polish female health care managers. Keywords: health care management, female leadership, gender equity.

Financial SIMDA is an application program that is shown to assist Local Government in the area of financial management. The purpose of the implementation of financial SIMDA is to produce financial statements and financial information in a timely, complete, accurate, and reliable manner in accordance with the prevailing provisions and encourage the realization of Good Governance and the implementation of regional financial management based on information technology. The purpose of this research is to analyze the implementation of Financial SIMDA in BKAD of Southeast Maluku Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of the research indicate that in general the staff of BKAD of Southeast Maluku Regency have understood the meaning of financial SIMDA. Factors that have to support implementation of SIMDA financial implementation that is communication, attitude / disposition and bureaucracy structure. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factor is human resources. The quality of information generated by financial SIMDA can be understood, relevant, reliable, and comparable.Keywords : Financial SIMDA,Impplementation SIMDA

This paper traces the career of Michael Jensen, a Chicago finance PhD turned Harvard Business School professor to reveal the intellectual and social conditions that enabled the emergence and institutionalization of what we call the "neoliberal common sense of capital," what others have called the "shareholder value" view of the American firm. Jensen's work was embraced by a generation of corporate raiders aggressively advancing new financial practices and discourses. His contribution, commonly understood as "agency theory," was intertwined with the transformations in corporate management and governance of the last decades of the twentieth century—from the junk bond market in the 1980s to the exponential growth of CEO pay in the 1990s to the shareholder value management strategies of the 2000s. While debates about the spread of neoliberal ideas and governance tools have largely centered on the transformations of the state and international institutions or the role of actively organized intellectual networks, this essay emphasizes the importance of identifying specific carriers of particular transformations within the space of American "business discourse".

Phytophthora cinnamomi causes a highly destructive root rot that seriously affects oak trees in semi-natural woodlands known as "dehesas". Biofumigation with Brassica spp. is a promising tool for disease management. We demonstrated that ground seeds from B. carinata and B. juncea can inhibit mycelial growth and decrease chlamydospore viability of P. cinnamomi in soil. In contrast, B. napus seedmeals were ineffective. Reduction of root necrosis in Lupinus plants was also achieved when soils were biofumigated with B. carinata or B. juncea seedmeals. Seedmeal effectiveness was strongly correlated with high sinigrin (2-propenyl glucosinolate) content. The management of water quality remains an essential requirement to ensure the long-term protection of the coastal and inshore ecosystems of the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) (Commonwealth of Australia, 2015). The land management initiatives under the Australian and Queensland Government's Reef Water Quality Protection Plan (Reef Plan) and the Reef 2050 Long Term Sustainability Plan (Reef 2050 Plan) are key actions to improve the water quality entering the Great Barrier Reef. The goal of Reef Plan is "To ensure that by 2020 the quality of water entering the reef from broadscale land use has no detrimental impact on the health and resilience of the Great Barrier Reef." The purpose of this report was to conduct a rapid and preliminary review of the Marine Water Quality Metric presented in the 2015-16 Reef Plan Report Card, focusing on issues highlighted by the Reef Plan ISP associated with data confidence of remotely sensed data in inshore areas.

Labor Law is the branch of law which constitutes a significant part of the legal order in a given society. The importance of this legal order is in the fact that labor relations as legal relations directly affect and relates to the progress of economic and social development of the society, as work is a source of income for the subjects of law. The existence of representative bodies of simple employees in the decision-making process, in an organized manner, is an important aspect, but it also entails some problems. Partnership between the company and employees is a legal, social, economic and political connection, which has considerable impact on society. Protecting the rights of employees in a corporation is better achieved if its management structure would include representatives bodies of workers. Involvement of employees in the management and administration of the company is already an international standard. In response to the 1999 crisis caused by the mass resignation of the European Commission, the Commission introduced a series of administrative reforms based in large part on New Public Management models. A centerpiece of those reforms was a new staff appraisal process linking numeric ratings with promotions, which was designed explicitly to change the management culture of the Commission. Of all parts of the reform, this was by far the most controversial. This paper traces the long arc of reform, as the original reform was replaced with a second version that was even more rigid and complex, leading to a third reform, in 2012, which returned the Commission in large part to the status quo ante, abandoning numeric ratings and the formal link to promotions. I analyze the reasons for the reforms and the problems and unintended consequences of each. In conclusion, I link this saga of repeated reforms to the broader literature on the effectiveness of attempts to change organizational culture through formal structural reforms.
