Policy advocacy is a professional competency in the Council of Social Work Education's (CSWE) Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards. Therefore, preparing social work students to engage in political arenas is an integral part of social work education. This study presents an evaluation of the policy advocacy course using a pre/posttest research design (N =154), and examines the theoretical link between the course and the change in students' motivation to engage in policy advocacy activities. Findings indicate that students' motivation to engage in policy advocacy and traditional resources for policy advocacy increased after the course. Path analysis demonstrated the mechanism through which these increases were achieved. The study suggests that including comprehensive policy advocacy training in the professional socialization of future social workers is a promising approach to increasing their active engagement in policy advocacy and satisfying CSWE requirements.

The urban-rural divide has to be bridged and rural areas have to be integrated with the economic processes to ensure equitable and inclusive growth of marginalized sections. Government. and NGOs have to play an important role in enhancing employment opportunities in farm and non-farm enterprises in rural areas, and should provide the necessary expertise to these areas. There are many sectors in which private players can participate to bridge this gap including providing micro finance, contract farming, setting up storage facili-ties for agro¬prod uce.Local folk could also develop heritage sites and tourist spots and encourage the promotion of traditional arts and crafts in joint ventures with rural enterprises. The next revolution that is waiting 'reaping the benefits'. We need to learn about participatory strategies, about organizing and mediating conflicting goals and needs, about technological transfer and social justice.

In this paper, the influence of social change on the Croatian fond of first names is addressed. Once, first names served to indicate the belonging of an individual to a certain linguistic, religious or ethnic community; socio-political circum stances or affiliation with a place of origin were reflected in them, or they were a declaration of a certain social conscious ness or political choice. From the second half of the 20th century onward, they have more often come to reflect individu alization, and changes in the frequency of certain first names have become more evident. Male first names are more traditional and susceptible to the rules of inheritance, even though social circumstances are more strongly reflected in them, while female names are more open to more frequent change and to foreign linguistic systems.

The research discusses the superiority complex of white British people, which lead Igbo people to cultural identity crisis. The researcher highlights the disastrous phase of the African society under the influence of European culture. Igbo people lost their cultural identity by the invasion of white colonizers. The white men force the natives to change their tribal traditions during their colonial rule. Igbo people suffer from mental trauma and identity crisis. The white people impose their law on Igbo natives and exercise their authority. The democratic and altruistic characteristics of Igbo natives lead them to follow new culture and religion. The drastic changes come in Igbo traditional culture and tribal lifestyle that makes the society restless.

This article seeks to examine how regional organisations in Africa are responding to the growing call for them to provide alternative approaches and models of economic development in the continent. The study interrogates the role of the African Development Bank (AfDB) as an agent of a changing global governance system and an emerging leader in Africa's development journey. The article begins by reflecting on the debate of a decline in global governance; it looks at Africa within the global economy and examines the organisational structure, contributions and changing role of the AfDB since its inception. It concludes that the AfDB finds itself in a unique position of trust among donors and African states at a time when traditional institutions are becoming less popular. It recommends AfDB adopt a number of reforms needed to help it maximise its impact on the continent

Advanced NLP models require huge amounts of data from various domains to produce high-quality representations. It is useful then for a few large public and private organizations to join their corpora during training. However, factors such as legislation and user emphasis on data privacy may prevent centralized orchestration and data sharing among these organizations. Therefore, for this specific scenario, we investigate how gossip learning, a massively-parallel, data-private, decentralized protocol, compares to a shared-dataset solution. We find that the application of Word2Vec in a gossip learning framework is viable. Without any tuning, the results are comparable to a traditional centralized setting, with a reduction in ground-truth similarity scores as low as 4.3%. In the article the legislative norm for implementing new learning technologies at educational institutions of Ukraine and, in particular, at the Lviv State University of Vital Activity Safety, training materials and logistics for ihe blended learning (BL) organization at our University are analysed, Moreover, stages of BL implementation, namely: creating an electronic library of training materials, development and implementation of distance learning courses, a combination of distance and traditional education of cadets and students by means of the Virtual University are described. ; У статті проведено короткий аналіз нормативно-правової бази стосовно впровадження нових технологій навчання в освітніх закладах України і, зокрема, у Львівському державному університеті безпеки життєдіяльності, комбінованого навчання (КН). The digital transformation is now a reality in Moldova, as Moldova has begun to transfer social, legal, and civil service delivery online. Sped-up digitalization can be expected to create new business models and opportunities for digital jumping in traditional industries. The Coronavirus crisis has highlighted the need for support and investments in digital transformation and effective digital governance, especially to guarantee the continuity and delivery of core government functions. The digital transformation is changing not just business models but the methods of production and distribution and the industry's competitiveness. Further analysis has been made to generate specific steps/recommendations regarding the digitization of the Moldova industry. The interview with experts who work closely in digitalization or competitiveness was done, and the SWOT analysis was done. Based on the research made, the recommendations for Moldova were prepared and presented in this article.

ABSTRACT We provide the first replication study of political science research published in Brazil by attempting to replicate every quantitative article published in five major Brazilian journals between 2012 and 2016. We also tested whether replication rates varied between established fields, more traditional and where the use of quantitative data is more common, and emerging fields. Our results show that transparency and reproduction are still in a development stage in Brazilian Political Science. Of the 650 articles reviewed, we asked for data to 197 quantitative articles. From those, only 28% agreed to share datasets and computed codes. We were able to attempt a replication for only 14%, and successfully reproduce the results of less than 5%. We conclude by suggesting the adoption of transparency and replicability procedures that are standard in other scientific communities.

Stretching beyond its theoretical field, the debates about the purposes of history education are of great importance to curriculum writers and classroom practitioners. The content selection from a broad field of history is connected to what educators deem an overarching purpose of education. With this in mind, this paper aims to examine the purposes of teaching history against the background of the two general theories of education, namely – the theories of a flourishing life and powerful knowledge. While the theory of a flourishing life encourages the development of personal autonomy, allowing individuals to make successful choices, the theory of powerful knowledge examines the importance of traditional academic knowledge for individual success. The paper will also use the context of post-conflict societies, to reflect on the question of possible purposes of history education.

Many hydrocarbon-rich countries have recognized the global shift towards renewable energy sources, and Russia is not an exception. Drawing on two strands of literature—technological innovation systems and the advocacy coalition framework—we investigate the roles of actors and coalitions in shaping the Russian renewable energy policy and explore why particular renewable energy sources have progressed more than others, and what the main reasons are for their sudden development. The results show that the more successful renewable energy industries are those that were promoted by influential actors from traditional energy industries. Moreover, these actors also promoted the specific design of support schemes for renewable energy policy in Russia. We discuss the importance of policy process theories for understanding energy transition studies and provide specific policy recommendations for policy creation in the renewables industry.

This article investigates the relationship between historical/religious memory and the perception of power in the early Sasanian period, and analyses how dynastic reflexes are formulated by religion/tradition in the new system within the context of Ardashir, Kerdir and Mani. It asserts that we can discover the relationship between the Sasanian elites and religion if we understand the factors that mobilised and remodelled their historical memories. Based on these factors, it proposes that the natural relationship established by the Sasanian dynasty during the state-building phase was fuelled by historical/traditional factors rather than by conscious political factors. Thus, the inherent links between the representatives of power and the religious tradition in the reign of Ardashir, founder of the Sasanian state, have been consciously politicised since the reign of Shapur I. © 2021 The Author(s).

The aim of the paper is to look at Italy's invisible Constitution to identify the drivers of informal transformations and create a snapshot of the Italian case in order to make a comparative contribution to the debate. I argue that, in addition to the traditional forces of informal constitutional change – namely constitutional conventions, the role of the judiciary in interpreting the constitution and the role of relevant institutional actors – the Italian case must be seen in the light of the specific constitutional history of Italy, especially two fundamental "moments" of this history: the specific political context in which the Constitution was drafted in 1947 and Italy's participation in the EU integration process. Only by looking at informal constitutional change in the broader context of these historical and political evolutions can we understand the key features of the "Italy's unwritten Constitution".

This article explores the gender dimension of ideology and representation by analyzing the political parties that ran in the 2019 Polish parliamentary elections, using a novel analytical framework based on gender claims and gender-related policy pledges. This article demonstrates that a left and liberal ideology largely determines feminist and pro-LGBTQ+ promissory representation. However, the gender ideologies of right-wing political parties vary in their traditional types and can include a populist element. This article contributes to comparative gender and politics scholarship by examining gender ideologies in the Central and Eastern European context, where on the one hand, populism and anti-gender campaigns have taken hold, and, on the other, feminist and progressive movements have challenged traditionalism and illiberalism. This article also differentiates a scholarly meaning of gender ideology from its populist meaning.

There are fewer cases of such blatant acts to defy and subsequent heroic efforts to rearrange institutional norms than the Russian doping scandal. In adopting a neo-institutional perspective, the authors theorize the scandal as a case of attempted but failed institutional disruption. More specifically, the authors draw upon the institutional change literature and the institutional work perspective to explain the key events surrounding actors' response to the scandal. The analysis utilized Gioia's methodological approach to examine secondary empirical data. Findings reveal how stakeholders circumvented traditional governance structures in an attempt to disrupt institutional arrangements, but despite this, much of the preexisting institutional infrastructure has remained intact. The authors explain this outcome, in part, as a consequence of the counter-institutional work of key governing agencies and other actors to maintain the status quo within international sport.
