The most prominent sector in Indonesia and the livelihood of the Indonesian population is the agricultural sector. PT. Kusuma Agrowisata is a company engaged in apple agrotourism, but farmers which joined at PT. Kusuma Agrowisata does not use their potential to the fullest due to the education and knowledge of farmers and because it is still traditional there. So it is necessary to provide counseling to farmers about the government so that these creative and independent farmers are part of agricultural empowerment. This research aims to identify and analyze the pattern of community empowerment of PT. Kusuma Agrowisata. The method of collecting data was through interviews with 20 farmers. The data was analyzed by SWOT analysis. The results of this study state the pattern of farmer community empowerment at PT. Kusuma Agrowisata has two indicators, namely counseling and training.

This article compares official statements on democracy and ordinary people's understandings of the term to examine whether government propaganda works to shape the democratic conceptions of the masses. The findings show that official narratives centered on 'good governance' have gradually been picked up by ordinary people over time. While the finding could be interpreted as solely the outcome of top-down state propaganda, the authors argue that the mechanism involves two-way communication whereby Chinese leaders have incorporated elements of traditional culture as well as the concerns of ordinary people into their narratives of democracy, leading to a convergence between the elite and the masses. This two-way process has allowed 'democracy with Chinese characteristics' to become a viable counterpoise to liberal democracy in China. (J Contemp China/GIGA)

The ability to understand, process and evaluate arguments made by others and ourselves is important in many personal and professional spheres, such as political debates. Analysis typically appears in written form, but a growing number of tools support analysis through diagram-based graphical representations. These UIs might support better argument analysis because arguments have non-linear structures that are difficult to convey through linear text. However, there is little empirical evidence on the advantages or mechanisms that might make graph UIs superior to traditional textual documents. We ran and analyzed an extensive study with twenty participants who used text and graph editors to analyze political debates. Our quantitative and qualitative findings demonstrate the tradeoffs between the two approaches and explain some of the key mechanisms that support the analysis in both media.

This article aims to fill a gap in the historiography on the Napoleonic Milan (1796-1814), providing an overall and analytic picture of the military presence in the capital city of a vast Italian State. The unpublished archives documentation, also rich in statistical data, allows to reconstruct an overview of the armed forces – military and paramilitary – permanently present intra moenia and the logistics that supported them. It is also proposed a preliminary assessment of the relations between the military world and the urban civil dimension, also in a comparison both with the Milan, as stronghold of previous historical periods (Spanish and Austrian), and with other cities of the same Napoleonic period. Ultimately, the case of Milan does not appear to fit with the traditional imaginary that attributes a sort of 'universal militarization' to the Revolutionary-Napoleonic Era even in the Italian Peninsula.

The article is devoted to the philosophical understanding of faith in the post-secu­lar world in the context of the phenomenon of interfaith pilgrimage: from the hu­manism of the Renaissance and Enlightenment (Goethe) to the religion of the laity and religious consumerism in the philosophy of postmodernism. Goethe's model of individual religiosity in the face of challenges to traditional faiths (migration crisis) and the spread of post-secular, poor theology on a global scale as the world­view of a liberal democratic society (exotic churches, evangelics, charismatics, etc.), and also the process of psychologization, even the mythologization of tradi­tional religions, the movement towards a "religion without grace" can be the sought-after alternative, which is a balance between tradition and innovation; and the reli­gious and philosophical worldview of Goethe, conceptually meaningful, is the new horizon of philosophizing after the post-philosophy.

The paper studies tax evasion in an evolutionary setting. In addition to standard variables such as the fine individuals may have to pay if found guilty or the probability of being audited, agents' inclination to engage in tax evasion may also be affected by social interactions. Moreover, expected payoffs may include reputational costs or rewards awarded by society after an individual is audited. The paper shows how (i) social norms may play a very important role in defining the long-run evolution of tax evasion and, consequently, that (ii) policymakers should consider reforms that would increase social awareness and information rather than more (financially and politically) expensive traditional auditing instruments; in addition, (iii) fiscal/auditing policies should be carefully tailored to the particular economic and social setting in place in a country. ; Web of Science ; 89 ; 4 ; 405 ; 385

The digital transformation is now a reality in Moldova, as Moldova has begun to transfer social, legal, and civil service delivery online. Sped-up digitalization can be expected to create new business models and opportunities for digital jumping in traditional industries. The Coronavirus crisis has highlighted the need for support and investments in digital transformation and effective digital governance, especially to guarantee the continuity and delivery of core government functions. The digital transformation is changing not just business models but the methods of production and distribution and the industry's competitiveness. Further analysis has been made to generate specific steps/recommendations regarding the digitization of the Moldova industry. The interview with experts who work closely in digitalization or competitiveness was done, and the SWOT analysis was done. Based on the research made, the recommendations for Moldova were prepared and presented in this article.

This article is the author's reflections on the problems of humanism, morality, and traditional culture in connection with the concept of a Moral State put forward by Professor S.N. Baburin. The role of the spirituality of the Slavic peoples and their contribution to the strengthening of European cultural identity is considered. The author argues the importance of the conclusion that the virtue of the state as its internal quality in itself turns the state into a guarantor of virtue as a universal value and the validity of the thesis that the values of both Orthodox Christianity and Slavic spirituality represent a solid foundation of a Moral State. The author sees in the Moral State a mechanism for the harmonious combination of the spirit of the revolution with the revolution of the spirit.

In today's Central Europe ethnolinguistic nationalism is the region's standard normative ideology of statehood creation, legitimation and maintenance. This ideology that in spatial terms, the area of the use of national language X should overlap with the territory of nation-state X, in which all members of nation X should reside. In terms of cultural policy, this means that only works written by "indubitable" members of nation X in language X can be seen as belong-ing to culture X. This self-limiting pattern of ethnolinguistic "purity" (homogeneity) excluded from 20th century Polish literature much of traditional Polish-Lithuanian culture and numerous authors writing in other post-Polish-Lithuanian languages than Polish. Democratization that followed the fall of communism in 1989 partly transcended this ethnolinguistic exclusion, but the old national policy has been back since 2015. ; Publisher PDF ; Peer reviewed

This article examines the cultural experiences of the M'mbelwa Ngoni who occupied the modern Mzimba District in Malawi from 1964 to 1994. Using written (primary and secondary) and oral sources, the article argues that although Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda (the first president of the Republic of Malawi) seemed to favour the Chewa people in his cultural policy, he was also on good terms with the M'mbelwa Ngoni compared to other groups in the country. Besides, the article argues that the M'mbelwa Ngoni took advantage of the seemingly dictatorial cultural policy under Dr Banda to preserve their unique traditions such as Ingoma (traditional Ngoni war dance but now performed during political and public events) among others. The article, thus, demonstrates that Banda's cultural policy also allowed some cultural groups such as the Ngoni of Mzimba to promote their culture.

Part 1, Chapter 3 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 makes specific provision for contracts for the supply of digital content. However, EU Directive (2019/770/EU) on Contracts for the Supply of Digital Content and Services (DCSD) requires EU Member States (including Ireland) to introduce its own measures which will be in force from 1 January 2022. This article will examine the key innovations introduced by this Directive and the extent to which they throw critical light on the provisions of the CRA 2015. Regardless of Brexit, are there lessons that UK law can learn from the DCSD? It will further examine how implementation of the Directive is likely to affect the traditional common law relationship between Irish and English consumer law, severing ties that have existed for over 100 years.

Gender discrimination is a pressing issue in gender research across the globe. While the Government of Nepal has taken several measures to address gender discrimination it remains prevalent at all levels of society. This paper examines the prevalence of gender discrimination in Nepal and its variability based on socio-demographic status. It employs micro-level data generated by Nepal National Governance Survey 2017/18 was used and analyzed through a logistic regression model. The results showed that the experience of gender-based discrimination varies based on socio-demographic factors including: gender, age, urban/rural, education, and economic status. Women's experiences of discrimination or marginalization vary based on their intersectional identity. The deeply ingrained patriarchal gender ideology in Nepal, driven by traditional cultural values and practices, perpetuates discrimination along gender lines.
