As declining species, their protection was put at the top of the agenda in the second half of the 20th century, but problems appeared much earlier. Mention: Très Honorable ; The public water supply service in Paris is most certainly developed. but is it sustainable? And how can wemeasure or improve its sustainability? We will here attempt to provide a scientific answer to this question.The purpose of this Ph. D. thesis is to analyze sustainability strategies for public water services, with Paris as amain case study. In less than 2 centuries, the water service in Paris rose from an archaic water supply system tothe current state of the art technical and social configuration. However, we wonder now to what extent thiscollective effort can be continued – or not – in the future.In the first part of the thesis, we discuss the theoretical and methodological framework used to understand thedynamics governing the development and sustainability of public water services in general. This analyticalframework is then applied to 3 case studies: past, present and future Paris' public water supply development.First, we study the sustainability of past development, to explain how a water service has been developed andmaintained in Paris over time and up until now. We analyze the ecological, technical, economical, institutional,political dynamics of this development, in order to identify their driving forces and limitations.Secondly, we assess the sustainability of present time development. We evaluate the capacity of today's policies(e.g. Corporate Social Responsibility) to modify dynamics, configurations and trajectories inherited from the past.Current sustainable development policies provide significant improvements, but they face resistance and tend toremain marginal or marginalized, even though a strong consensus exists in their favor.Finally, we anticipate the sustainability of future development. We analyze the main projects that are officiallycontemplated (e.g. the Great Paris water utility project) and their consequences on both sustainability anddevelopment. Adopting a transnational lens, Immigrants' Citizenship Perceptions: Sri Lankans in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand investigates Sri Lankan immigrants' complex views towards their home (Sri Lankan) and host (Australian or Aotearoa New Zealand) citizenship and the factors that affect them. The book argues that the existing citizenship policies and popular discourses towards immigrants have a strong nation-statist bias in which native citizens believe that they know how exactly immigrants should behave or feel as host citizens. The book problematises this assumption by highlighting the fact that it represents more how immigrants' citizenship perceptions should be while ignoring how they actually are. Unlike native citizens, immigrants must balance two different positions in how they view citizenship, that is, as native citizens of their home countries and as immigrants in their host countries. These two positionalities lead immigrants to a very different perspective of citizenship. Deliberating on the complexities displayed in Sri Lankan immigrants' views on their home and host citizenship, the book presents a critical analysis of citizenship views from immigrants' standpoint. The textual data analysis origin is based on the analyzes carried out mainly on literary works, which include a recount of all Bible's words and the presentation of the first catalog of book classification of a library. At the beginning of 1900 these ideas are extended, giving rise to summaries generation of long texts, based on the analysis of frequencies and measures of relative significance of each term within a given text. From a formal statistical perspective, the text data processing takes hold when the Factorial Correspondence Analysis arises, developed for linguistic databases treatment. Now a day, the textual data statistical analysis has been sold and has increased its implementation. Among the main fields of application are: market analysis, web searches and journalistic studies, studies of psychology, education and sociology. The analyzed texts are organized and structured together in a single element. Thus, the textual data statistical analysis is defined as the process of extracting information from that element. This paper analyzes, from this perspective, of four presidential speeches in Uruguay, corresponding to Julio María Sanguinetti and Tabaré Vázquez. Both come from different ideological / political sectors, traditionally opposed / rivals and each has been part of the opposition government, during the mandate of each other. The presented results are multidimensional descriptive and are complemented by visualization elements, a tool typically used in textual data statistical analysis. The main results obtained show the difference that exists in the speeches, both at the level of the candidate and the period. ; El origen del análisis de datos textuales se remonta a los análisis realizados sobre obras literarias, destacándose un recuento de las palabras de la Biblia y el primer catálogo de clasificación de libros de una biblioteca. My interests have swayed and varied since arriving to this point in my academic career, here and now, at this mid-way seminar text. I have grown up in Singapore having mainly worked in the service industry, and then moved to studying sociology in Lund, working in fashion in Copenhagen, and then in urban design in Dubai and in Gothenburg. Rapidly and quickly dipping my feet into various industries and work experience before realising that they all had sparked one common response in me: a (and then I did not know it) designerly approach towards problem-solving. I always felt that I had to do things, to make my solutions. It began with visualising and mapping knowledge in different ways, to designing websites and modes of communication, to traditional and tangible craftings, and to growing my own food. To do, for me, was to speak. On a personal level, these different makings at different points in my life have slowly evolved to become my primary source of learning: to make for me, is to explore, learn, and be inspired by the unknown future, the intangible, the tacit. Not that I was always very good at it, and I refer to making here, but I am aware of the role that playful experimentation and integrative thinking in knowledge production has (haphazardly) played in my development. I am not alone in this journey and along with many wonderful creators, innovators and the design research community, Buchanan aptly explains that "[w]ithout integrative disciplines of understanding, communication, and action, there is little hope of sensibly extending knowledge beyond the library or laboratory in order to serve the purpose of enriching human life," (Buchanan, 1992, p. 6). A little earlier than that, Donald Schön expresses this as a 'reflective practicum', where spontaneous experimentation comprises reflection-in-action and a way of learning-by-doing - often resulting in materials 'talking back' in surprising and interesting ways (Schön, 1983; Schön, 1987). Later, and as he bids us a final farewell, he recognises the capacity for such a design process to play a significant role in addressing major social and political challenges through operationalising creative 'framing'; addressing conflicting values and preconceptions that commonly lead to conversational stalemates, in order to promote paradigm shifts (Schön & Rein, 1994). This is a thesis on making – the making of both conversations and things – towards clean energy futures. It is also a thesis on makings with people. Energetic, as the thesis is titled, infers an energetic change towards clean energy futures from the perspective of the individual, the community, and the society: inclusive of those who are energetic for change towards a cleaner energy future, and also those who do not yet know that they are too, energetic for change.The thesis is not an attempt towards a glorified solution to all complex world problems in the current renewable energy transition. Rather, it is a humble homage to what can be accomplished when we, together, explore unprecedented energy futures. Like Victor Papanek once said in Design for the Real World, "[i]f design is ecologically responsive, then it is also revolutionary," (p. 252).

Transitions to upper secondary education are crucial to explain different degrees of social selectivity in diverse education systems. In Catalonia these transitions are especially relevant as the education system is formally comprehensive until the end of compulsory secondary schooling, and only at this point the system is divided in two different tracks: the academic and the vocational. The aim of the paper is to analyse the structural, institutional and discursive articulation of this transition point from the perspective of the sociology of the education policy. Specifically, the paper explores three dimensions of analysis: the structure of the education system, the planning of the supply, and the guidance models. The analysis is based on 28 in-depth interviews with policy makers and stakeholders in the field of upper secondary education in Barcelona. The results point out to the relevance of the political-institutional articulation, contradictions, tensions and omissions of different education systems in setting unequal opportunities of educational transition. ; Las transiciones a la educación secundaria post obligatoria son centrales para explicar el grado de selectividad social de diferentes sistemas educativos. El caso de Cataluña es especialmente relevante porque el sistema educativo se organiza de forma comprensiva hasta el final de la educación secundaria obligatoria, momento en que por primera vez se separa a los estudiantes en dos itinerarios diferenciados: el académico y el profesional. El objetivo del artículo es analizar desde una perspectiva de la sociología de la política educativa, cómo se configura esta transición desde un punto de vista estructural, institucional y discursivo. En concreto, se exploran tres grandes ámbitos de análisis: la estructura del sistema, la planificación de la oferta educativa y los modelos de orientación. El análisis se basa en 28 entrevistas en profundidad a policy-makers y stakeholders del área de educación postobligatoria de Barcelona. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar, a partir da perspectiva da sociologia da política educacional, como essa transição se configura de um ponto de vista estrutural, institucional e discursivo. Especificamente, três áreas principais de análise são exploradas: a estrutura do sistema, o planejamento da oferta educacional e os modelos de orientação. A análise baseia-se em 28 entrevistas em profundidade com policy makers e stakeholders na área da educação pós-obrigatória em Barcelona. Os resultados mostram a importância da articulação político-institucional dos diferentes sistemas educacionais, com suas contradições, tensões e omissões, na configuração de diferentes oportunidades de transição educacional.

The purpose of the review is to characterize general theoretical approaches to the study of diasporas in contemporary science and to present a historiographic analysis of the study of the Armenian diaspora in Russia. The research is based on a complex of historiographic sources: monographs, collective works, scientific articles, theses, that are devoted to the phenomenon of diasporas in the modern world. The authors emphasize the relevance of the study of diasporas in the context of globalization, mass migration, formation of new ethnic communities and polemics around the policy of multiculturalism. At present, the study of diasporas is conducted within the frameworks of history and philosophy, sociology and political science, ethnology and cultural studies, demography and economics, which explains the variety of methodological approaches to the phenomenon of the diaspora. Representatives of different humanities distinguish such defining features of the diaspora as stable ethnic (nostalgic) identity and collective memory, the presence of self-organization and a developed network of intragroup communications, a special style of life behavior and strategies for survival in the host society. These theoretical approaches find application in the study of the Armenian diaspora in Russia, which is a part of the world Armenian diaspora and at the same time has unique socio-cultural characteristics. Currently, the Armenian diaspora in Russia is widely studied both on a national scale and at the regional level, however, most studies cover only the southern regions and the capital of the Russian Federation. The creation of a comprehensive history of the Armenian diaspora in the Middle Volga region is an urgent scientific task. In the final part of the review, the authors outline possible prospects for further study of the Armenian diaspora in Russia and individual regions; this task can be solved using an interdisciplinary approach. ; Целью обзора является характеристика общетеоретических подходов к изучению диаспор в современной науке и историографический анализ изучения армянской диаспоры России. Исследование базируется на массиве историографических источников: монографий, коллективных трудов, научных статей, диссертаций, посвященных феномену диаспор в современном мире. Подчеркивается актуальность изучения диаспор в условиях глобализации, массовых миграций, формирования новых этнических общин и полемики вокруг политики мультикультурализма. В настоящее время изучение диаспор осуществляется в русле истории и философии, социологии и политологии, этнологии и культурологии, демографии и экономики, что обусловливает разнообразие методологических подходов к феномену диаспоры. В качестве определяющих признаков диаспоры представители разных гуманитарных наук выделяют устойчивую этническую (ностальгическую) идентичность и коллективную память, наличие самоорганизации и развитой сети внутригрупповых коммуникаций, особый стиль жизненного поведения и стратегий выживания в принимающем социуме. Эти теоретические подходы находят применение в изучении армянской диаспоры России, которая, являясь частью мировой армянской диаспоры, обладает уникальными социокультурными характеристиками. Армянская диаспора России широко изучается как в масштабе страны, так и на региональном уровне, однако большинство исследований охватывает лишь южные регионы и столицу Российской Федерации. Актуальной научной задачей является создание комплексной истории армянской диаспоры Среднего Поволжья. В заключительной части обзора очерчены возможные перспективы дальнейшего изучения армянской диаспоры России и отдельных регионов, которое может осуществляться на основе применения междисциплинарного подхода.

Ilustraciones, gráficos ; La tendencia en aumento de las cifras del aborto en Colombia demuestra que no es un suceso nuevo y que da cuenta del eterno debate frente a la dicotomía de derechos de mujeres versus derechos del no nacido, alimentados por diversas posturas. Un fenómeno grave tanto por la dimensión como por sus implicaciones, por el impacto derivado de los efectos que tiene una atención indebida y, en consecuencia, la afectación de los derechos de las mujeres. Pero también es un tema social, de debate, de posturas encontradas que mueven a quienes están de acuerdo y quienes están en contra de su legalización en tanto la posibilidad de garantizar a las mujeres un tratamiento adecuado. Así, el presente estudio plantea la importancia de comprender la construcción del problema público como el eje central del análisis de la política pública. Tomando como referente la propuesta teórica del autor Joseph Gusfield (2014) quien, desde la perspectiva de la sociología de la acción pública, realizó una contribución en el ámbito de políticas públicas desde el análisis de la construcción social e histórica de los problemas públicos. El autor señala que la construcción de un problema está conectada a un sistema que permite categorizar y definir los acontecimientos y esto varía según el momento histórico y la sociedad, analizando las dimensiones cognitivas, morales y normativas, así como la responsabilidad política, causal y la propiedad, que llevan a entender la existencia de un fenómeno. ; The increasing trend of abortion figures in Colombia shows that it is not a new event and that it accounts for the eternal debate regarding the dichotomy of women's rights versus the rights of the unborn, based on different positions. On the other hand, abortion is a social issue and an eternal debate, where many conflictive positions that involves those who agree and those who oppose its legalization as the possibility of guaranteeing women adequate treatment. Thus, this study raises the importance of understanding the construction of the public problem as the main axis and starting point of the analysis of public policies. Taking as reference the theoretical proposal of the author Joseph Gusfield (2014) who, from the perspective of the sociology of public action, made a relevant contribution in the field of public policies from the analysis of the social and historical construction of public problems. The author points out that the construction of a problem is connected to a system that allows the categorization and definition of events and this varies according to the historical moment and society, analyzing the cognitive, moral and normative dimensions, as well as political, causal and legal responsibility, property, which lead to understand the existence of a phenomenon. ; Magíster en Gobierno y Políticas Públicas ; Maestría

The essay analyzes the phenomenon of gender violence through films and documentaries in Italy. As Edgar Morin teaches, there is indeed a close intersection between movie and sociology. Movie, as a game of refraction of the real and the imaginary, makes it possible to investigate the phenomenon of gender violence from the point of view of history and life stories, with a sociological view that intertwines historical, political, cultural and social aspects. and relational. The movie, as well as having a broad and extensive educational value, is a useful method of knowledge to investigate the socio-cultural representation of the masculine and feminine, as well as the relationship between masculine and feminine. The objectives that we intend to pursue are therefore essentially two: on the one hand, we will analyze the representation of socio-cultural models of men and women, through the main Italian documentary films from the 1960s to today: Comizi d'amore di P.P. Pasolini (1964), D'amore si vive by S. Agosti (1984), Vogliamo anche le rose by A. Marazzi (2007), Oggi insieme domani anche by A. De Lillo (2013); on the other hand, the representation of the phenomenon of gender-based violence will always be considered in Italian films from the 1960s to today, with particular attention to those who have recently been selected and disseminated on the web by the various Italian associations that deal with the phenomenon: Sedotta e abbandonata by P. Germi (1964), Il branco by D. Risi (1994), Primo amore by M. Garrone (2004), Un giorno perfetto by F. Ozpetek (2008). ; Il saggio analizza il fenomeno della violenza di genere attraverso i film e i documentari in Italia. Come insegna Edgar Morin, esiste infatti una stretta intersezione tra cinema e sociologia. Il cinema, in quanto gioco di rifrazione del reale e dell'immaginario, permette di indagare il fenomeno della violenza di genere dal punto di vista della Storia e delle storie di vita, con unosguardo sociologico che intreccia aspetti storici, politici, culturali, sociali e relazionali. Il cinema, oltre ad avere un valore didattico esteso e ampio, costituisce un metodo di conoscenza utile ad indagare la rappresentazione socioculturale del maschile e del femminile, nonché la relazione tra maschile e femminile. Gli obiettivi che s'intende perseguire sono quindi essenzialmente due: da una parte, si analizzerà la rappresentazione dei modelli socioculturali del maschile e del femminile, attraverso i principali film documentariitaliani dagli anni Sessanta ad oggi: Comizi d'amore di P.P. Pasolini (1964), D'amore si vive di S. Agosti (1984), Vogliamo anche le rose di A. Marazzi (2007), Oggi insieme domani anche di A. Зборник "Етнологија Срба у Мађарској: стање и перспективе" садржи радове са научног скупа који је под истим називом одржан 19. и 20. новембра 2010. године у Будимпешти, у организацији Српског института из Будимпеште и суорганизацији Етнографског института САНУ и Народносне секције Мађарског етнографског друштва. Овај скуп је замишљен као први у низу скупова посвећених различитим научним областима за које се сматра да су од највећег интереса за заједницу Срба у Мађарској (етнологија, лингвистика, историја и друштвене науке – социологија, политикологија, право), које ће организовати Српски институт (основан 2009. године) да би се добио преглед стања, уочили недостаци и одредили приоритети за даље истраживачке пројекте. Циљ скупа био је, дакле, критичко сумирање укупних досадашњих резултата етнолошког и етнографског рада међу Србима у Мађарској. На њему је било 17 учесника из Мађарске и Србије. У оквиру скупа, одржан је и округли сто, чији је циљ био разговор о потребама и могућностима организације даљих истраживања. ; The volume Ethnology of Serbs in Hungary: Situation and Perspectives contains papers from the scientific conference held under the same title on November 19th and 20th, 2010 in Budapest, in organization of the Serbian Institute from Budapest and co-organization of the Institute of Ethnography SASA and the Nationalities Section of the Hungarian Ethnographic Society. The conference was envisaged as the first in a serial of conferences devoted to various academic disciplines considered as highly interesting for the Serbian community in Hungary (ethnology, linguistics, history and social sciences – sociology, political science, law), to be organized by the Serbian Institute (established in 2009) in order to obtain an overview of the situation, to detect the flaws and define the priorities for further research projects. The aim of the conference was, therefore, a critical summary of the overall results of ethnologic and ethnographic work among Serbs in Hungary. There were 17 participants from Hungary and Serbia. In this article the author studies the place and the role of social philosophy in the architecture of the social sciences and humanities. The article focuses on the relationship between social philosophy, theory of society, theoretical sociology and social ethics. Based upon the application of the concept of paradigm in philosophy, the author shows key trends of the development of social sciences and humanities: the turn from the philosophy of conscience to the communication philosophy and the "rehabilitation of the practical philosophy". In line with these trends, practical discourse philosophy is now playing the central role in the structure of the social sciences and humanities, the author says. By making a distinction between normative and descriptive dimensions of the so- cial sciences and humanities, the author emphasizes the issue of their normative foundation and their moral and ethical re-orientation. The article analyzes discourse as an argumentative practice of founding social norms and values and as a meta-institution legitimizing social institutions. According to this approach, the social philosophy is considered as a meta-theory of social sciences, which include general social theory and theories of social systems. In this context, practical dis- course philosophy is playing a fundamental role for legitimizing specific social institutions. Social ethics also plays an important role, as it complements individual ethics, creating a system of insti- tutional ethics, i.e. of political ethics, economic ethics, ethics of science and technology, environ- mental ethics. In this architectonics, social responsibility gets a new meaning, incorporating indi- vidual responsibility. Social responsibility is not an anonymous responsibility that neglects the in- dividual responsibility, but a common responsibility implemented according to certain rules and procedures and creating the possibility to solve current problems of the globalized humanity. ; Стаття присвячена розгляду місця та ролі соціальної філософії в архітектурі соціальних та гуманітарних наук. Автор зосереджує увагу на взаємозв'язку соціальної філософії, теорії суспільства, теоретичної соціології та соціальної етики. На підставі застосування концеп- ції парадигми у філософії автор показує ключові тенденції розвитку соціальних та гумані- тарних наук: поворот від філософії свідомості до філософії комунікації та «реабілітацію практичної філософії». Відповідно до цих тенденцій, на думку автора, філософія практичного дискурсу відіграє сьогодні центральну роль у структурі соціальних та гуманітарних наук. Проводячи розрізнення між нормативним і описовим вимірами соціальних та гуманітар- них наук, автор робить наголос на проблемі їхніх нормативних засад та морально-етичної переорієнтації. У статті дискурс аналізовано як арґументативну практику узасаднення соціальних норм і цінностей та як метаінституцію, що леґітимує соціальні інститути. Згідно з таким підходом соціальна філософія розглядається як метатеорія соціальних наук, до складу яких належить також загальна соціальна теорія та теорії соціальних систем, а практична філософія дискурсу виконує засадничу функцію щодо леґітимації конкретних соціальних інституцій. Важливу функцію виконує також соціальна етика, яка доповнює індивідуальну етику, утворюючи також систему інституційних етик: політичної, еконо- мічної етик, етики науки та техніки, екологічної етики. У такій архітектоніці нового зна- чення набуває соціальна відповідальність, яка знімає у собі індивідуальну відповідальність. Соціальна відповідальність — це не анонімна відповідальність, яка нівелює індивідуальну відповідальність, це спільна відповідальність, що здійснюється за певними правилами і про- цедурами, утворюючи можливість розв'язання сучасних проблем ґлобалізованого людства.

Los estudios de Relaciones Internacionales han sido un campo disciplinar predominantemente anglosajón. Sin embargo, Raymond Aron supo hacerse un lugar en él. Para develar esa situación, nos fijamos como objetivo de este trabajo determinar cuáles han sido sus aportes, a partir de la lectura y análisis de su libro Paz y guerra entre las naciones (1962). El primer punto que desarrollaremos es cómo se inserta la obra del autor francés en ese particular momento paradigmático en el que se encontraba la disciplina, el realismo de base morgenthauniana. En segundo lugar, apuntaremos mostrar tanto los aspectos epistemológicos de este trabajo, por la conjunción de la teoría, la sociología, la historia y la praxeología, como los conceptuales utilizados para develar las formas en las que las unidades políticas operan sobre el sistema internacional. El hecho de que nuestro autor sea una rara avis en un campo que habla y piensa mayoritariamente en inglés es una de las cuestiones que pretendemos rastrear a partir de saber cómo han sido recibidas y criticadas por los académicos del mainstream . Pero no queremos detenernos allí, también nos preguntamos sobre cuál ha sido su incidencia en los estudios de relaciones internacionales en Argentina, especialmente en la obra de Juan Carlos Puig. Finalmente esbozaremos, sobre la base de los elementos aportados por su teoría y metodología de análisis, cómo podría leerse en el mundo actual y establecer si sus instrumentos teóricos y conceptuales siguen aportado explicaciones al funcionamiento del sistema internacional. ; The studies of International Relations have been a predominantly Anglo-Saxon disciplinary field; however, Raymond Aron knew how to take a place in it. To unveil this situation, we set ourselves as the objective of this work to determine what their contributions have been, from the reading and analysis of his book Peace and War: A theory of International Relations (1962). The first point that we will develop is how the work of the French author is inserted in that particular paradigmatic moment in which the discipline was found, the realism of Morgenthaunian basis. Secondly, we will aim to show both the epistemological aspects of this work, by the conjunction of theory, sociology, history and praxeology, as well as the conceptual ones used to reveal the ways in which political units operate on the international system. The fact that our author is a rara avis in a field that speaks and thinks mostly in English is one of the issues that we intend to trace from knowing how they have been received and criticized by mainstream academics. But we do not want to stop there, we also wonder about what has been its impact on the studies of international relations in Argentina, especially in the work of Juan Carlos Puig. Finally, we will outline, on the basis of the elements contributed by his theory and methodology of analysis, how the current world could be read and be able to establish if his theoretical and conceptual instruments continue to explain the operation of the international system. ; Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educación
