Examines the status of the Palestinian Israeli conflict. It is suggested that the Geneva Agreement negotiated by moderate Palestinians and Israelis could become the basis for a solution to the conflict. It is contended that Palestinians and Israelis have not been able to fulfill all of their obligations as set out by the road map for peace. Palestinians have not been able to reform their security services and civilian institutions, while Israelis have insisted on building a wall in the West Bank to separate themselves from Palestinians. The wall causes hardships for the Palestinians and will result in the annexation of Palestinian land. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's plan to withdraw from the Gaza Strip has garnered support from the US, even though it deviates from the road map. It is concluded that a long-term solution to this conflict can be found.
