Professional liability insurance is designed for businesses that sell their expertise, such as accountants, financial consultants, lawyers, engineers, architects. This type of insurance protects businesses and individuals who provide professional services to clients from the legal costs or for the damages that may arise form an act, omission or breach of duty in course of their business. Professional liability insurance is safety net for business mistake such as failure to deliver work product the clients expect and for which they paid. On the insurance market in Republic of Macedonia are offered almost all type of products related to professional liability offered in the neighboring countries and in EU. The participation of this type of insurance in Gross Written Premium is increasing as well as the number of sold policies. But is this increase due to awareness of the businesses for the advantages of having professional liability insurance or it is related to legal obligation for buying this insurance in order to comply with legal requirements or acquire license/permit for certain profession. The purpose of this paper is to analyze whether and to which extent the professional liability insurance is used as efficient strategy for offsetting the consequences and losses arising from professional liability risk. Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to explore an important management aspect of business relationship dynamics, namely, the reactivation process of previously ended buyer–supplier relationships.


Design/methodology/approach
A processual case study approach focusing on a single in-depth case has been used. The case is based on longitudinal data from a number of sources concerning one reactivation failure.


Findings
Grounded in previous research and based on this study's case findings, the authors have designed a model of analysis for relationship reactivation processes. Using the model on this study's particular case, the authors show how the structural properties of network embeddedness and resource ties worked in favor of the process, whereas the social bonds and the lack of them led to mistrust that disturbed the negotiation and, hence, worked against the reactivation process.


Originality/value
This study makes a contribution to the field of relationship dynamics by exploring relationship reactivation processes. The designed model shows how reactivation can be understood as an interplay between structural properties and (re)building activities and contributes new knowledge on factors that affect this process.

PurposeThis study aims to examine the marketing/R&D relationship under different relative dependence situations. Specifically, its basic objective is to analyse if the effect that the climate between these departments exerts on new product development performance is moderated by the dependence perceived by these areas.Design/methodology/approachThe interfunctional climate was measured through six key variables of relationship marketing: cooperation, communication, trust, commitment, social satisfaction and conflict. To do this, the R&D directors of 178 Spanish innovative firms were surveyed. A sample of 345 products (177 successes and 168 failures) was been obtained.FindingsThe results derived from a multisample analysis allow the conclusion that in those situations of high dependence the creation of a satisfactory climate is specially important for the development of affective bonds, such as trust and commitment among the functional areas.Originality/valueThe novelty of the research lies in the use of the relationship marketing approach to investigate industrial intra‐functional relationships and their influence on a new product performance. Furthermore, the inclusion of dependence as a possible moderator of that influence represents an added value of the study.

In contrast to rapid economic growth in the twentieth century, Korea suffered a long economic decline in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, with the failure accelerating from 1850 to 1890. According to 36 different harvest records, rice productivity continuously declined from the early eighteenth to the late nineteenth centuries due to deforestation and increase in natural disasters. Contraction of rural markets after the interruption of trade with Japan also contributed to the decrease in rice production. The third reason for the nineteenth‐century crisis was the dissolution of the government‐led grain storage and redistribution system. Finally, the ultimate culprit for the crisis could be found in Confucianism with which the Joseon Dynasty was unable to properly understand and respond to the crisis.

This introduction to the special issue aims to contextualize and critically comment on the current trajectory of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in both scholarly inquiry and business practice. It suggests that we must place it within the milieu of the ongoing economic crisis and the failure of a number of important opportunities to make business ethical (e.g. the 2012 Rio + 20 Earth Summit). It then suggests possible future terrain for tenable CSR research (and practice), especially in the context of widespread cynicism and disbelief regarding the claims of business ethicists in industry and the academy.

Osaka City and Osaka Prefecture introduced several large-scale business site development projects in the 1980s and 1990s, such as Tsuda Science Hills, Rinku Town and Technoport Osaka. The idea was to claim Osaka's share of anticipated growth boosted by the internationalisation of business and high-tech development, but eventually these investments proved to be failures. The case of Osaka suggests that large-scale business site developments need increasingly to be built on premises that match the requirements and demands of global knowledge economy, thus emphasising local synergy, growth mechanisms, entrepreneurship and innovativeness.

"Consumer co-operatives provide a different approach to organizing business through their ideals of member ownership and democratic practice. Every co-operative member has an equal vote regardless of his or her own personal capital investment. The co-operative movement can also be an important force in promoting development and self-sufficiency in poorer areas, particularly in non-industrialised countries. This book explores in depth the fortunes of the Berkeley Consumer Co-operative, which became the largest consumer co-operative in the United States with 116,000 members in 1984 and viewed nationally as a leader in innovative retail practices and a champion of consumer rights. The Berkeley Consumer Co-operative is promoted by both supporters and opponents of the co-operative business model as a significant example of what can go wrong with the co-operatives. This book will provide the first in depth analysis of the history of the Berkeley Co-operative using its substantial but little used archives and oral histories to explore what the Berkeley experience means for the co-operative business model. The specific chapters relating to Berkeley will be organised around particular themes to highlight the issues relating to the co-operative business model and the local context of Berkeley. The themes relate to developments in Berkeley and the Bay Area in terms of the economy, politics and the retail environment; the management of the Berkeley co-operative, looking at governance, financial management and strategic decisions; relationship of management with members and employees; and finally, the relationship of the Berkeley Co-operative with the community.
