El artículo describe los fines y los medios de la política tecnológica europea en base a las preferencias reveladas por el programa marco de investigación y desarrollo tecnológicos actualmente en vigor. La primera parte del artículo presenta los principios básicos que informan la política tecnológica comunitaria y discute sus fundamentos económicos. A continuación se describen las prioridades de I+D y el contenido de los principales programas que desarrollan el III Programa Marco de la CEE. Para finalizar, se exponen las líneas maestras de la nueva estrategia de la política tecnológica europea. ; This paper describes the means and goals of European technology policy on the basis of the preferences revealed in the current Framework Programme for Research and Development. The first part of the paper presents the basic principles guiding Community technology policy and comments on their economic rationale. Then, the priorities in R and the contents of the main programmes which develop the III Framework Programme are describes. Finally, the main guide-lines of the new strategy of the European technology policy are presentes.

The image of two US athletes with black glove-covered fists raised on the podium at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics is iconic. However, despite a number of academic studies, articles, books, lectures and films addressing this moment, the deeper story behind that student-athlete protest at Mexico 68 is little known. It was far from being a merely spontaneous or violent action. In fact, the protest was part of a concerted and largely peaceful effort to highlight several systemic injustices of the late 1960s by a group named the Olympic Project for Human Rights. As will be demonstrated in this thesis, it follows that the deeper story of the student-athlete protests at Mexico 68 are ripe with significance from both: (1) a Peace Studies perspective, focussing on structural injustice, and (2) a Conflict Resolution Studies viewpoint, which upholds value in the constructive settling of disputes. Employing a Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) lens, which keeps both sets of concerns in view, and undertaking descriptive and analytical approaches that bring the voice of the athletes to the fore as much as possible given the limitations of this study, allows for a discussion of remarkable student-athletes interacting not only within the competitive structure of their sport at the Olympics, but also amongst social, institutional, and political contexts. This approach becomes foundational for the conclusion that the athletes involved in protests at Mexico 68 were players (i.e., agents) and not pawns, in relation to complex socio-political forces, which sought to manipulate and oppress them. Moreover, this PACS approach allows for twelve concrete lessons flowing from the stories of the athletes to be delineated for their contemporary relevance in a world where far too many injustices remain. Im Rahmen der Dissertationsschrift werden das Leben und ein Teil des Werkes der Individualpsychologin Sofie Lazarsfeld (1881-1976) vorgestellt, diskutiert und historisch eingeordnet. Der erste Teil der Dissertation beinhaltet eine ausfÃhrliche Biografie, die hauptsÃ$chlich aus einer unverÃffentlichten Autobiographie, Interviews mit Enkeln, unverÃffentlichten Briefwechseln zwischen Friedrich Adler (Ãsterreichischer Politiker) und Sofie Lazarsfeld als auch Elin WÃ$gner (schwedische Schriftstellerin) und Sofie Lazarsfeld erstellt werden konnte. In zweiten Teil werden die Schriften Sofie Lazarsfelds zur individualpsychologischen PÃ$dagogik und weiblichen PersÃnlichkeitsentwicklung in der Zeit des Roten Wien vorgestellt. Ihre Biographie zeigt eindrÃcklich wie ihr soziales Umfeld sich auf ihre PersÃnlichkeitsentwicklung auswirkte. Durch Freundschaften mit geistig und kulturell tÃ$tigen Frauen fÃhlte sie sich ermutigt und wurde selbst zur Autorin. Sie verÃffentlichlichte in beratender Form Artikel in Zeitungen und in individualpsychologischen Zeitschriften. In der Praxis war sie eine anerkannte Erziehungsberaterin, die sowohl theoretisch als auch praktisch fÃr die VerÃ$nderung von autoritÃ$ren Erziehungsstilen stand. Angelehnt an reformpÃ$dagogische StrÃmungen der Zeit forderte sie eine Erziehung mit stetigem Perspektivwechsel in die Welt Kinder. Die VerÃ$nderung des Erziehungsstils war fÃr Sofie Lazarsfeld eine SchlÃsselposition, um eine selbstbewusste Sozialisation fÃr Kinder zu erreichen. Ebenso hartnÃ$ckig und aufklÃ$rend setzte sie sich in ihrer BeratungstÃ$tigkeit fÃr ein Umdenken in ehelichen Beziehungen ein. In October 2010 one of Finland's four national TV channels aired a panel discussion dealing with gay and lesbian rights in society. Among the debaters were members of parliament from various parties, well-known actors and other public figures, as well as a priest, a bishop and other religious spokespeople. Afterwards, a great number of people publicly expressed their views on same-sex marriages. The ways the Lutheran Church treated the same-sex couples, as well as the reasons and outcomes of a vast number of resignations from the Church were discussed, particularly in the online discussion forums. The public discussion spread rapidly, especially through the social media. Resignations from the Church are often perceived as a clear sign of the decline of religious beliefs and practices, which is an integral aspect of the secularization process. But lately the whole notion of a secularization of society has been questioned and a growing number of researchers have stated that the concepts of resacralization, desecularization, or a resurgence of religion would actually better describe the current situation than the theory of secularization. The aim of this article is to examine whether the concept of secularization still has some explanatory power at least in the Nordic countries. Another aim is to contemplate what kind of knowledge this special case has to offer when rethinking secularization.

Zu einem "Sprung nach vorwärts" hat die verkrustete katholische Kirche mit dem Zweiten Vatikanischen Konzil angesetzt. Der ebenso charismatische wie undogmatische Papst Johannes XXIII. hat mit dem Konzil gegen starke Widerstände der römischen Kurie eine epochale Wende im Verhältnis von Kirche und moderner Gesellschaft eingeleitet. Mit dem Konzil wurde ein aggiornamento auf den Weg gebracht, das die Kirche "verheutigen" und sie in der Welt von heute verorten sollte. Damit hat das Konzil die Weichen von der Westkirche zur Weltkirche gestellt.

The article considers the review of village evolution research tendencies. The analysis of research devoted to villagers' psychology study, integrated psychological characteristics of villagers and the factors which influence upon transformation mechanisms of "villagers' consciousness" are presented.

Se plantean numerosos interrogantes sobre el nuevo período que ha comenzado en Egipto, repleto de incertidumbres. Con la caída de Hosni Mubarak se inicia una nueva etapa en Egipto llena de esperanzas pero también de incertidumbres. La presión de la calle se hizo insostenible después de 18 días de protestas y el rais tuvo finalmente que renunciar al poder. Durante este período, sin embargo, no sólo ha tenido lugar un enfrentamiento entre la sociedad egipcia y el dirigente que había regido sus destinos durante 30 años, sino también un pulso dentro del régimen que ha permitido dirimir tensiones internas y crear una nueva correlación de fuerzas que puede condicionar el desarrollo del proceso de transición.

Ethical consumption is understood by scholars as a key way that individuals can address social and ecological problems. While a hopeful trend, it raises the question of whether ethical consumption is primarily an elite social practice, especially since niche markets for ethical food products (for example, organics, fair trade) are thought to attract wealthy, educated consumers. Scholars do not fully understand the extent to which privileged populations think about food ethics in everyday shopping, or how groups with limited resources conceptualize ethical consumption. To address these knowledge gaps, the first goal of this paper is to better understand how consumers from different class backgrounds understand ethical eating and work these ideas into everyday food practices. We draw from 40 in-depth interviews with 20 families in two Toronto neighborhoods. Our second goal is to investigate which participants have privileged access to ethical eating, and which participants appear relatively marginalized. Drawing conceptually from cultural sociology, we explore how ethical eating constitutes a cultural repertoire shaped by factors such as class and ethno-cultural background, and how symbolic boundaries are drawn through eating practices. We find that privilege does appear to facilitate access to dominant ethical eating repertoires, and that environmental considerations figure strongly in these repertoires. While low income and racialized communities draw less on dominant ethical eating repertoires, their eating practices are by no means amoral; we document creative adaptations of dominant ethical eating repertoires to fit low income circumstances, as well as the use of different cultural frameworks to address moral issues around eating.

El proceso de globalización económica de las dos últimas décadas ha transformado el mapa productivo, social y político mundial. Uno de sus mayores impactos sobre América Latina se observa en las transformaciones operadas en la estructura y funciones de los estados nacionales y subnacionales. En Argentina luego de la devaluación se acelera la llegada de inversiones extranjeras directas que obtienen ventajas impositivas y subsidios estatales de magnitud. La significativa expansión de la actividad de los call centers (CCs) transnacionales que se localizan masiva y vertiginosamente en las principales ciudades argentinas en los últimos años dan cuenta de estos fenómenos y permiten abordar las transformaciones de las instancias estatales, en tanto visibilizan este rol regulador de las actividades económicas en los territorios. El presente trabajo indaga en el rol y accionar de los estados subnacionales desde una perspectiva sociológica: se sistematizan y describen las leyes-decretos-convenios orientados a captar empresas de CCs y se analizan los debates parlamentarios que enmarcan y otorgan sentido a tales concesiones. Esta mirada permitirá visibilizar mecanismos de cooperación y/o conflicto mediante los cuales actores locales y extranjeros modelan la inserción de lo global en lo local. Finalmente, nos permite reflexionar acerca de las (a)simetrías de poder entre los actores estatales y los agentes económicos transnacionalizados, en el marco de espacios locales en tiempos de globalización. ; The process of economic globalization in the last two decades has transformed the production, social and political world map. One of the largest impacts on Latin America is seen in the transformations in the structure and functions of national and subnational states. In Argentina after the devaluation the arrival of foreign direct investment is accelerated that get tax breaks and state subsidies of magnitude. The significant expansion of the transnational call centers (CCs) activity and rapidly mass located in major Argentine cities in recent years account for these phenomena and let address these transformations of the state agencies, because it makes visible the regulation role of economic activities in the territories. This paper focuses on the role and actions of the provinces states from a sociological perspective, we systematize and describe the laws, decrees and agreements designed to attract CCs companies and analyzes parliamentary debates that frame and give meaning to such concessions. This view will visualize mechanisms of cooperation and / or conflict through which local and foreign actors shape the global integration into the local. Finally, we can think about (a)symmetry of power between state actors and economic transnationalized agents, in the context of local spaces in globalization times.
