The contribution aims, in its first part, at framing the populist phe-nomenon from the point of view of historical and political evolution of two interrelated processes: the praise of the direct representation of the popular will and the criticism and de-legitimization of the elite. These processes find a sudden acceleration at the time of disinter-mediation, which clearly demonstrates its dual nature as an object of study between politics and communication. The ability of political leaders to bypass the traditional structures of mediation (from Par-liament, in reference to political action, to the legacy media, in refer-ence to the relationship with the public) becomes over time directly proportional to their ability to adapt to the media logic. In the age of the hybrid media system, therefore, the strength of the populist leader lies in a careful use of old and new media, according to stra-tegic schemes and communicative styles that are summarized in the case studies selected in the second part of the contribution
The advent and spread of Internet and the Web have radically transformed the modes of communication. This book considers a particular ambit of online communication, namely that of science. In the first place, the author reconstructs the circumstances that gave rise to the modern system of scientific communication, and the qualitative and quantitative tools for scientific evaluation. After this, the analysis concentrates on the history, philosophy and architecture of the Web from its inception through to the most recent developments of both a technical (Semantic Web) and a socio-cultural kind (Web 2.0). Finally an open and democratic model for scientific communication is projected and proposed, made possible through the use of transparent, accessible and distributed tools.

Despite online media having become an increasingly valuable tool for social movements to achieve their goals, the digital presence of animal advocacy organizations is still under-explored. This paper contributes to fill the gap by analyzing the social media communication of Italian animal advocates against the backdrop of a typology developed in the offline context that distinguishes political, anarchist, anti-political and mainstream animal advocacy. By using text and data mining techniques, the Facebook pages of eight Italian organizations representative of each type of advocacy were analyzed, based on over 7,000 posts and followers' reactions. The findings complicated the offline typology by showing elements of continuity, discontinuity and hybridization between offline and online activism. They also shed light on the online communication of animal advocates and provided some initial insight into how online media can affect animal rights activism, thus providing a contribution to the emerging field of digital media and social movement studies.
Due to the worldwide popularity of the Korean Wave(Hallyu), there is a high interest in Korean culture, relatively tilted to the youth population. This drive acts as an integrated motive for learning Korean language, and it is also linked to the choice of their major discipline in universities. The common phenomenon is that: a high rate of students are interested in learning the language in limited number of universities in Italy that offer Korean language courses. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to present the current status of Korean studies in Italy, future prospects, and tasks for its development. To begin with, based on the research I carried out in some universities across the country like; the University of Naples, University of Rome, the University of Ca' Foscari of Venice, which have established Korean language courses including Korean literature since the 2000s, and the University of Bologna, the University of Siena and the University of Milan, which offer Korean studies as a liberal arts or a graduate school course. Moreover, in an attempt to expand and further develop the Korean studies, I suggest a list of tasks to consider such as diversification of lectures and improvement of lecture content, training of Korean scholars, reinforcement and expansion of the exchange student system, funds and scholarships, the establishment of the Research Centerfor Korean studies, the related academic organizations for regular holding of academic conferences or seminars and regular publication of journals and books. In a bit to effect this, there is need for closer collaboration among the universities that offer Korean language courses. Lastly, I recounted a review of the changing patterns of Korean language classes at Ca' Foscari University, which complementary, is a combination of face-to-face education or distance education due to the Italian government's quarantine measures in response to the situation caused by the coronavirus. It emphasizes the need for active responses of learners and instructors to change in educational methods such as effective online class management using communication technology and technological devices in favour of the safety measures placed for the control of the pandemic.
ENGLISH: This volume has the same title of the one published in 2011. It collects a series of studies on the long reign of the second Trastàmara King of Naples, Ferdinand of Aragon (1458-1494), using mainly the great mass of information offered by diplomatic correspondences. The authors study some key events and protagonists of Italian history in the Quattrocento (the battle of Ponza, the condottiero Giacomo Piccinino, the journey of Lorenzo de' Medici to Naples, the war of Ferrara) and important topics about politics and political communication: the relations between the Crown, the society and the fiscal institutions; the use of italian language in the autograph letters written by Lluís Dezpuig, a catalan; the "queenship" of the duchess of Ferrara.
