How do non-state actors frame climate change in a region labelled as a climate hotspot? To answer this question, this article explores the climate communication strategies of non-state actors with various country origins. Adopting the quantitative content analysis method, it comparatively analyses differing frame utilizations (e.g. ecological/meteorological, policy, economic and energy interests, culture, science and technology, civil society) of non-state actors in their selected climate change/global warming-related reports (n=89) on the Mediterranean. The findings provide clues on the cosmopolitan framing of non-state actors on the regional level.
One of the questions in social science is about the relationship between theory and practice. It goes back to the ancient Greek philosophers whose world was strictly separated into polis and oikos. The actors of polis were engaged in the formation of a democratic society requiring active action in the sense of vita activa. According to Arendt, with the decline of the polis and the emergence of the new forms of the society, vita activa was initially set in opposition to vita contemplativa and then later devalued in favour of vita contemplativa. However, with Galilei and Kant, there has been a counter-movement, which no longer understood theory as isolating oneself from the world but as shaping social realities. Theory and practice are joined today by the concept of research. The relationship between theory and practice will be examined initially within a historical perspective offering the genesis. Then the features of some institutions are discussed in terms of their communications with theory and practice and redefined accordingly.
The design process, which starts with identifying the design problem in design studies, is completed by conveying the message of the creative visual solution to the target audience. The images used in the design for the target audience are carefully selected by the design team. Images have a universal language and are transmitted faster than written texts. Images have layers of meaning as cultural indicators of their own time. For this reason, the most frequently used method for examining and interpreting images is semiotics. The colors used in the design also represent culture. Each color can have personal meanings as well as cultural and universal meanings. Color constitutes an important code system in the reading of images through semiotics. To develop the ability to incorporate colors into design, it is necessary to understand the science, psychology and meaning of colors. Visual communication designers and artists are aware that effective color palette choices are one of the techniques that enable guiding eye tracking in design. Color choices, color palette designs play an important role in visual aesthetics. In addition to the contribution of colors to visual aesthetics, the meanings they attach to the message are also important. In this study, the use of images in design applications is examined through the language of colors. The contributions of the use of color to the meaning of the image are examined through examples.

Bu yüzden siyasallık, kişiler, kurumlar ve aracıların etkisiyle siyasal toplumsallaşma sürecinin sonucunda gerçekleşmektedir. Siyasal toplumsallaşma, genel toplumsallaşma sürecinin bir parçasıdır. Toplumsallaşma ise normların, değerlerin, inançların benimsenmesi ve uygulanması bağlamında siyasallığa doğru bir süreçtir. İnsan, bir toplumun üyesi olmakla zaten siyasallaşmaktadır. Siyasal toplumsallaşma konusunda yapılmış olan bu çalışma teorik ve uygulamalı olmak üzere iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde teorik olarak siyasal toplumsallaşma süreci tartışılmıştır. Bu bölümde, toplumsallaşma, siyaset, siyasal, iktidar, propaganda, siyasal kültür, siyasal iletişim, devlet, ideoloji, vatandaşlık gibi kavramlar ve temel siyasal toplumsallaşma aracıları olarak kabul edilen aile, okul, arkadaşlık grupları, kitle iletişim araçları ve siyasal olaylar da siyasal toplumsallaşma ile ilişkileri dâhilinde açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Ayrıca farklı sosyal bilimlerin ve teorik yaklaşımların süreci nasıl açıkladıklarına da ilk bölümde değinilmiştir. Çalışmanın uygulama bölümünde siyasal toplumsallaşma ile ilgili üniversite öğrencilerine yönelik bir anket çalışması yapılmıştır. 862 anketin cevapları ki-kare, t-testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi, faktör analizi gibi istatistik testleri kullanılarak yorumlanmış ve sürece etki eden faktörler tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmada Türkiye'deki mevcut siyasal kültürün devamlılığına ve değişimine ilişkin önemli bulgular elde edilmiştir. ; Politization, as it is only observed in human beings, refers to becoming a party in the fundamental sense, to exhibiting a position; and is produced via social relations. Politization, therefore, is realized after the process of political socialization with the interaction of individuals, institutions and agents. Political socialization is a part of the general socialization process. Whereas socialization is a process towards politization in the context of the adoption of norms, values, beliefs and their implementation. The individual already politicises by being a part of the society. This study on political socialization consists theoretical and practical chapters. In the first chapter of the study, it is in general disscussed how people become political individuals through political socialization process. In the same chapter, concepts such as socialization, politics, political, power, propaganda, political culture, political communication, state, ideology, citizenship and family, school, friendship groups, media and political organizations and events which are accepted the main socialization agents are disscussed within their relationship with the political socialization process. Also, it is touched on how different social sciences and theoretical approaches explain the process. In the practical chapter of the study, a survey about political socialization was carried out on university students. After the survey process, answers of the 862 questionnaires are interpreted and the effective factors on the process are tried to be explained by using statistical tests such as chi-square, t-tests, one way analysis of variance and factor analysis. The survey has important evidences about the countiniuty and the transformation of the current political culture of Turkey.
