The Project to design the IDrovolante INnovativo TOScano (IDINTOS), a two-seater amphibious aircraft featuring a PrandtlPlane configuration was initiated in 2011. This project was led by the Civil and Industrial Engineering department (Aerospace Unit) of Pisa University and co-funded by the Regional Government of Tuscany. The project was executed by Edi Progetti & Sviluppo and completed in August 2013 with the construction of a full-scale prototype of IDINTOS. The primary objective of this thesis was to establish an initial draft manual (Pilot's Operating Handbook, POH) based on the IDINTOS research activities compliant with standard regulations for future use in certification applications. This encompassed observing, actively participating and documenting the manufacturing and assembly end to end process during all phases of the IDINTOS project. The thesis is divided in three parts. The first part provides an overview of the main aviation regulations and the current legislative framework for sport and recreational aviation. The second part illustrates the prototype construction and assembly through a series of pictures taken during the assembly process. Additionally it addresses the thought process for identifying the best features of the prototype and their integration into the final product. The last part of the thesis is the initial draft of the POH for the IDINTOS prototype, prepared in accordance with standard requirements set forth in General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) Specification No.1.

The purpose of this research is to offer a contribution to the study of the growth of anti-establishment political groups in the UK, specifically, the United Kingdom Independence Party, a typically perceived right-wing political movement whose main belief is the separation of the UK from the European Union. First part of the research will mostly draw upon literature review on Political and Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), a multifaceted approach to the study of text and talk: discourses influence social relations and knowledge systems through language, and the theoretical structure of CDA demonstrates the complex workings of power and ideology in discourse in sustaining particular orders. What is intended to prove, where verifiable, is a re-shape of the negative biased definition of the term 'populism' which has been attributed for years by mainstream politics. The study will give an overview on the interchangeable Other-construction depending on one of the great three issues at stake: anti-European Union, anti-Immigration (Economic Migrants) and anti- establishment political talk. Substantial through the data analysis is the shift from a biological to a cultural concept of racism now conceived as ethnopluralism, that is the straightforward realization of an impossible coexistence among different culture within one nation.
Though the German Democratic Republic (GDR) collapsed in 1990, after 41 years of existence, the socialist state lives on – in schoolbooks, museums, novels, films and in the memories of those who witnessed the "workers' and peasants' state." With GDR memory being a highly embattled discourse in Germany more generally, we ask how the GDR is constructed in German film. This means more specifically, what stories are being told and what interpretations suggested within the broader GDR memory discourse? To answer these questions, we offer a comparative three-level-analysis of the feature films Balloon (2018) and Sealed Lips (2019). Looking at the film-immanent, the structural and the actor-centered level, we find that East German directors, producers or actors can bring different albeit divergent perspectives on the GDR in film whose construction is currently dominated by West German elites.

As always happens, it is through the bird's eye view that it is possible to clearly understand the compositional principle of a place. And this is true also – and perhaps mostly – for Brasilia, the new city that Juscelino Kubitschek decided to build in 1956 to decentralize, far away from the Atlantic coast, the new administrative and legislative pole of Brazil.Generally, in Niemeyer's work experts tend to stress his peculiar capacity for designing the "shapes" of buildings and of their interior spaces. Hardly ever do experts stop to observe what happens on the outside of each of them, that is on the way in which they establish a relationship with the space of the city.
ENGLISH: This contribution aims at analysing a few aspects of the Princes' justice in its relations with the per inquisitionem ex officio proceedings, and also considers some of the elements that linked the form of the justice with the construction of princely states in the late Middle-Ages in Northern Italy, i.e. the definition, legiti- mation and reinforcement of the Prince's authority, and the elaboration and creation of the political and institutional structures of the Principality. During the 15th century, the Princes' justice became a powerful way to affirm their authority, even though there was much resistance, and its force is rooted in the direct intervention of power in judicial mechanisms.
; XXIV - Ciclo
Over the last few decades, misleading healthcare information and deceptions with false claims, conspiracy theories (CTs) and consumer fraud have endangered public health on a global scale. More recently, the COVID-19 pandemic has been accompanied by a substantial flow of false information and unceasing attempts by conspirators to influence debates in the official discourses, breeding on the fertile ground of people's most basic anxieties and the present-day social and economic uncertainty. This paper investigates the discourse of the European Commission on disinformation in order to achieve institutional legitimation through the linguistic and discursive construction of 'trustworthiness', 'credibility', and 'transparency'. The analysis considers the documents produced by the European Commission over the last few years (2018- 2021), to tackle the discourse that supports alternative views on official science. The results of the analysis reveal the EU discursive process of conceptualising 'verifiably false or misleading information' as 'public harm', while distancing it from the EU's fight against disinformation' that is discursively constructed as 'the protection of the EU values'. In particular, the investigation will show how the lexical and phraseological interaction discursively removes the harmful potential of conspiracy theories activists, legitimises massive control measures as the most effective way to guarantee freedom of expression and pluralistic democratic debate, and empowers the EU's image as the shield protecting the European citizens' awareness and societal resilience (Flowerdew, Richardson 2018).
