In this hypomnemata we share a set of readings and notes, trying to briefly focus on some nearby events in time, but also in many senses out-of-date, that concern the field of culture, art and its relationship to politics, that have taken place, usually in the city Madrid. Due to its fragility (or its exposure to oblivion) we want make them available as supports -as Foucault designate- for review, reflection and a future meditation, either collectively or individually, because it commits to a set of not assumed contradictions. An act of personal memoir that, in the back and forth trip from writing to reading, might regard to many more people. Its availability – says Foucault on hypomnémata writing- opens possibilities of subjectivity betweenthe self and the world, so this form is raised as a proposal to this issue calling. We are wondering how the image and the gaze, or the forms and their perceptions, are relate with this self writing. It might only reach political sense in its relationship or consideration with others.
; In this article I want to reflect on three issues concerned with the problematic relation between inequality and democracy. First, through Thomas Piketty s´ history of social inequalities in capitalism, I reconstruct some theoretical challenges wich appeared in democratic theories when they confront the historical inequalities of capitalism. Second, I analyze how these inequalities were confronted by the Welfare State, creating tensions and specific contradictions in democratic capitalism. Finally, I test a possible interpretation of the contradictions that permeate contemporary democratic capitalism. ; Fil: Ipar, Ezequiel. Universidad de Buenos Aires. Facultad de Ciencias Sociales. In this paper it is shown that the positions of Christianity in the East concerning humanity are in radical disagreement with the modern phenomena of massification and financial competition, as they are presented and interpreted by the members of the School of Frankfurt and Marcuse in particular. Based on the aspect of person as a conscious formulation of the individual particularities and the social relations, we discuss common ways of approach to this anthropological topic, which relate to the two theoretical areas. Both are engaged in a critical attempt to show how human beings will not be imprisoned in the formalization of superficial situations and, also, how they will gain entrance to the depth of their existence. It is noteworthy that their representatives consider these movements as most important so that a human being can resist the powers, which aim at his manipulation and the annihilation of his consciousness. We also discuss some extensions of the above theories with reference to the construction of a democratic political system based on the value of freedom as an individual and collective achievement. Of course, we preserve the differences between the two theoretical fields, given that Christianity is by definition a theocentric system within the frame of which Church acts as the main area, where its principles are implemented and projected towards a social transformation.

This article begins with a brief terminological clarification regarding the meaning of the term freedom of education and then proceeds to analyze the context of political philosophy, that is the relations that exist between Authority and the common citizen. It follows from this analysis that freedom of education is a special guarantee that ensures the survival of freedom in general. Afterwards the author proceeds to study the different approaches which several Marxist groups have followed with regard to the question of education in Spain, and to carry out a particular analysis of the document An Alternative for Education. The author's critique of this document is accompanied by that critique which comes from the radical Marxist wing. The main Marxist attitudes with regard to this topic can be placed within the framework of a global strategy of Gramscian origin which constitutes an attempt to conquer political power by means of a war of positions within the boundaries of the institutions which make up the civil society. In this sense, the school is a particularly favorable meeting-ground. The critique of this strategy gives rise to a new meaning of social freedom and of the defense of a Society which is at least as strong as the State. The author happens to be in favor of the multiplication of social institutions and of the benefits that derive from diversity, and sees this as asure guarantee of freedom for all citizens within society.

As the heir of the early 20th century American legal realism, the Critical Legal Studies movement – from now on CLS - flies the flag of the indeterminacy of law. However, it goes beyond the realist thesis and argues that it does not obey a simple linguistic or formal problem but a true manifestation of a "contradiction" or a series of substantive contradictions that underlie the liberalism, understood as tradition ideological, political and economic over which has been built the way ofAmerican life. This article analyzes the phenomenon of populism and its relationship with citizen participation from a critical point of view. It is emphasized that the use of language generates affinities between concepts, such as populism and greater participation by citizens, whereas, paradoxically, the opposite phenomenon usually occurs, namely one or more people, in many cases self-proclaimed as the voice of the people, are the ones who determine the future of citizens, with the excuse of a popular legitimation that is, at least, debatable. For this reason, there is a non-apparent contradiction between populism and citizen participation, since citizens are excluded from political decisions for the sake of an apparent greater capacity for decision of the people.
Such a theoretical clash is related to the post-Marxist invective hurled against a tradition ostensibly rooted in now-discredited essentialist parameters, and discernibly incapable, for the same reasons, of comprehending the new forms of political subjectivation that surfaced in the societies of late capitalism. This dispute will unfold, almost paradigmatically, between Ernesto Laclau and Slavoj Žižek. Despite the controversy's playing field already being determined, to a large extent, by the universe of Gramscian theory — the notions of 'hegemony', 'antagonism' and 'collective will' will thus be decisive — the more general debate over postmodernity and multiculturalism will also shape an inescapable backdrop. ; Utopía y Praxis Latinoamericana publica bajo licencia Creative Commons Atribución-No Comercial-Compartir Igual 4.0 Internacional (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
