The construction of new stadiums owned by football clubs, according to a scheme that sees them accompanied by museums, restaurants and shops, is today a successful model. The idea is much appreciated and at the center of a lively debate, in which broadly favorable opinions generally prevail. But what does this model represent in current post-modern societies? How does it relate to their logics and their lines of development? What does it represent in the consumption system of our cities? This book offers some answers by analyzing the emergence of the contemporary soccer stadium, the relationships between stadiums and urban policies, the transformation of the fans, the coherence with the trends in post-industrial cities.

In: Law & literature volume 17
This volume investigates interdisciplinary intersections between law and the humanities from the Renaissance to the present day. It allows for fruitful encounters between different disciplines: from literature to science, from the visual arts to the post-human, from the postmodern novel's experimentation to most recent approaches towards the legal interpretation of literary texts. This productive dialogue fosters original perspectives in the interpretation of and reflection upon identity, justice, power and human rights and values, thus underlining the role of literature in the articulation of relevant cultural issues pertaining to specific periods.

Presentazione relativa all'intervento tenuto al webinar "Le scienze del patrimonio culturale on Air.

Cultural and creative industries play an important role in the processes of cultural, social and economic development of Italy. In particular, in South Italy, Campania region is characterized by a considerable creative effervescence, which represents a strategic resource for the growth of the territory and the empowerment of young people. However, in this territorial context, characterized by profound internal differences in the availability of resources and services, the "creativity-culture-development" axis constitutes a critical issue, highlighted by the social, economic and organizational repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic. Starting from a theoretical reflection on the cultural and creative industry, the book presents the results of an exploratory study conducted between 2020 and 2021 by the Osservatorio Territoriale Giovani (OTG) of the Department of Social Sciences of the University of Naples Federico II in collaboration with the Campanian local government. The research is based on twenty qualitative interviews to privileged witnesses and returns a map of the limits and resources of the Campanian cultural and creative industries in relation to the impact of the pandemic and provides some ideas for the future institutional initiatives aimed at strengthening the sector and promoting youth creativity.

The 43rd UID conference, held in Genova, takes up the theme of 'Dialogues' as practice and debate on many fundamental topics in our social life, especially in these complex and not yet resolved times. The city of Genova offers the opportunity to ponder on the value of comparison and on the possibilities for the community, naturally focused on the aspects that concern us, as professors, researchers, disseminators of knowledge, or on all the possibile meanings of the discipline of representation and its dialogue with 'others', which we have broadly catalogued in three macro areas: History, Semiotics, Science / Technology. Therefore, "dialogue" as a profitable exchange based on a common language, without which it is impossible to comprehend and understand one another; and the graphic sign that connotes the conference is the precise transcription of this concept: the title 'translated' into signs, derived from the visual alphabet designed for the visual identity of the UID since 2017. There are many topics which refer to three macro sessions: - Witnessing (signs and history) - Communicating (signs and semiotics) - Experimenting (signs and sciences) Thanks to the different points of view, an exceptional resource of our disciplinary area, we want to try to outline the prevailing theoretical-operational synergies, the collaborative lines of an instrumental nature, the recent updates of the repertoires of images that attest and nourish the relations among representation, history, semiotics, sciences.

This paper presents the preliminary results of the Project T.Arc.H.N.A., Towards Archaeological Heritage New Accessibility, partially funded by the European Union, as part of the Culture 2000 Programme. Tarchna is the Etruscan name of the ancient city of Tarquinia and T.Arc.H.N.A. the name of a model of virtual Museum. Thanks to the use of modern technology, combined with a deep knowledge of history and archaeology, it has been possible to create a tool useful for both scholars and the wider public, which is also available for other situations. Through the cooperation of experts from two different fields – Computer Science and Archaeology – an innovative system of accessibility to the Cultural Heritage in the field of research, education and dissemination has been designed and implemented. One of the first results of the project is the restoration of the original unity of the Tarquinian Heritage much of which is scattered all over the world, lacking in contexts and anthropological meanings. Scholars are thus enabled to deal with this Cultural Heritage as a whole and to bring the single document from the environment that produced it, to the environment of the modern user, thus filling the gap between the document and its interpretation. In this way the public can learn the main features of the Etruscan culture and comprehend the research of scholars.
