SOCIALISTS-REVOLUTIONARIES AND THE FIRST REVOLUTIONARY DEMONSTRATION OF THE XX CENTURY IN MOSCOW ;
The article examines the first armed revolutionary demonstration initiated by the SRs on December 5–6, 1904 in Moscow, during which there were acute clashes and which, according to the level of preparedness, scope and immediate consequences, was a landmark event in the life of the ancient capital. The beginning of the Socialist-Revolutionary organization in Moscow at the end of 1896 was put by prominent figures of the Union of Socialist-Revolutionaries, founded in Saratov: Argunov, M.E. Argunova, S.I. Barykov, V.I. Evreinov, A.S. Martynov, V.N. Pereverzev, A.A. Chepik, N.M. Chernov. The Socialist-Revolutionary organization of Moscow by the end of 1904 was considered exemplary in the party of the Socialist Revolutionaries. It conducted active agitation among students, students, intellectuals, workers. In autumn 1904, given the worsening of social tension, the Moscow Committee of the Socialist-Revolutionary Party began organizing an armed demonstration, appointing it on December 5 and 6. Special hopes were placed on the workers of the Prokhorovka Manufactory. December 5, 1904 in the demonstration were involved about two thousand people, mostly students and intellectuals. During the demonstration, violent clashes occurred with the use of weapons, at this time more than 30 people were injured. In the demonstration on December 6, about 300 people participated. The demonstration on December 5–6 was sympathetically received by students and intellectuals. On the leaders of the dispersal of the demonstration, Grand Duke Sergei Aleksandrovich and D.F. Trepov, the SRs organized assassinations. The demonstration on December 5–6, 1904, was the first mass armed revolutionary manifestation in Moscow in the early 20th century. In 1905 armed clashes between demonstrators and government troops became commonplace.

Nationalism and internationalism in sport: theoretical concepts and practical demonstration
It is shown, that their practical implications depend on a number of objective and subjective factors, primarily on the system of sociopolitical, economic and cultural relations between the various countries in which it is included.Emphasizes that nationalism transforms sports in competition for prestige among nations. For many decades, the sport was seen as part of the global confrontation between two political systems. It is shown that the value attached to sporting successes in each country, leading to a concentration in the field of financial and political resources of science and modern technology. Therefore, in international sport is, on the one hand, the superpower, that has the best infrastructure , technology and science, and the other poor countries that do not have the basic necessities of sports equipment.Questions of nationalism in sport are also considered in the context of nationbuilding. In this regard, we discuss various types of nationalism: ethnic, civic and social. Festive Demonstrations in the Soviet Culture: on the Problem of the Typology of Technologies, Methods, and Instruments of Civic Engagement Formation ;
The paper analyses festive demonstrations in the Soviet culture as an effective technology for civic engagement construction of Soviet people. Civic engagement is considered a systemic characteristic of a person indicating the degree of harmony in the combination of personal and public interests in consciousness, moral and political qualities, and behaviour. Soviet festive demonstrations are analysed on the basis of the typology of technologies, methods, and instruments for civic engagement formation developed by the authors. The authors trace the interaction of the technologies, methods, and instruments for civic engagement formation during the demonstrations accompanying the Soviet public holidays.

Introduction. The article considers an important issue of the modern institute of public events - the ambiguous understanding of a number of definitive provisions of Federal Act No. 54-FZ of June 19, 2004 "On meetings, rallies, marches, demonstrations and pickets"Materials and methods. The methodological basis of the work is a number of general and specific scientific methods of cognition. The formal legal and logical method is of particular importance for the achievement of the goal.Results. The federal law under consideration, which is the main subject of research, fulfils the most important legal function - it concretizes the provi- sions of the Constitution of the Russian Federation. The complexity of clarifying and correctly perceiving the letter of the law significantly complicates both the scientific and theoretical comprehension of a num- ber of its provisions and introduces very significantshortcomings into law enforcement practice and into the practice of realization by citizens of the Russian Federation of their constitutional rights to organize and participate in public events. In this regard, the definitive apparatus needs to be substantially refined.Discussion and Conclusion. The problem ad- dressed in the study has been the "generic" feature of the institution of public events for many decades. For example, it is interesting, for example, that the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR No. 9306-11 of 28.07.1988 "On the Procedure for Organizing and Conducting Meetings, Street Processions and Demonstrations in the USSR" did not clearly delineate such concepts as rally or picket- ing, procession or demonstration either. Misunder- standing the specifics of a particular form of public event local government bodies often suggested that the organizers and citizens hold a meeting instead of, say, a rally, or a procession instead of demonstra-tion assuring people that there was nothing terrible in such a replacement. At the same time in practice there were cases when law enforcement officers, when making decisions on cases of violations of public or- der during mass events, referred not to the norms of the existing substantive law, but to the Ozhegov Russian language dictionary.

2) ; The unknown February revolution (Part 2)
The second part of the paper is devoted to the preparation of the mass demonstration on February 14, 1917. The mass demonstration was prepared by the "Working Group" of the Central Military-Industrial Committee with the support of A. I. Guchkov and A. I. Konovalov, the leaders of this committee. It was assumed that the 100,000 workers gathered outside the walls of the Duma would demand that the deputies create the "Provisional Government" responsible to the Duma and the "people". It was planned to provide armed resistance in the case the police and troops tried to break up the demonstrators, and therefore weapons were distributed at some local factories. It was supposed that the protest would become the beginning of an armed uprising and revolution. The activity of the workers was stimulated by the food crisis, which hightened its acuteness. In the absence of a ration card system, the lack of bread gave rise to huge queues, which acted on the population more than any agitation According to the police reports, even those workers who were not interested in politics were ready to take part in the mass demonstration. Some reports spoke of the preparation of an armed uprising. The authorities were preparing for battles in the streets of Petrograd, a "protection plan" was developed, and police received machine guns. At the same time, there was a sensation of insecurity and fear at the court. M. V. Rodzianko, Chairman of the State Duma, tried to use these sentiments to get Nicholas II consent to create a responsible ministry, but this attempt failed. The opposition leaders however feared a possible revolution as much as the authorities. Ultimately, Miliukov and Rodzianko issued a call to the workers to refrain from mass demonstration - and it did not take place. The authorities appreciated this demonstration of loyalty on the part of the opposition and, according to some information, Nicholas II decided to agree to the creation of the responsible ministry. © 2018 Saint-Petersburg State University. Неизвестная Февральская революция (часть 1) ; The Unknown February Revolution (part 1)
The article, based on archival materials, describes events connected with the preparation of the demonstration on February 14, 1917. It is shown that, in the atmosphere of the "Government Assault" undertaken by the liberal opposition, the group of the most radical opposition, supported by the Central Military Industrial Committee and led by A. I. Guchkov decided to join the workers' organizations in order to organize a grand antigovernment demonstration. The Central Military Industrial Committee kept contact with the working people through the "Working Group", which was a part of the Committee and was headed by the Menshevik K. A. Gvozdev. It was expected that on the day of the convocation of the State Duma, on February 14, a hundred thousand people would gather at the walls of the State Duma and would require the deputies to create a "Provisional Government" responsible to the Duma and the "people". In case the police and government forces tried to scatter the protesters, then, according to the police, it was planned to provide armed resistance; weapons were given to people at some factories. It was supposed that the manifestation could become the beginning of an armed uprising and revolution. The authorities were worried by the news received, and they arrested the "Working Group", nevertheless, preparations continued. However, the possibility of an uncontrolled development of events worried the moderate leaders of the Progressive Bloc and, at a meeting on January 29, P. S. Miliukov spoke out against the planned demonstration. At the same time, another leader of the Bloc, M. V. Rodzianko, tried to use the fears of the authorities to get their consent to the creation of a responsible ministry. Finally, Miliukov and Rodzianko made an appeal before the workers to refrain from demonstration, and it did not take place. However the authorities appreciated the loyalty of the opposition and, according to some information, Nicholas II decided to agree to the creation of a responsible ministry.

(BIOst-Ldg)

GDP PER CAPITA, PROTEST INTENSITY AND REGIME TYPE: A QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS ;
The study suggests that the relationship between per capita GDP and intensity of antigovernment demonstrations is not negative as tends to be believed; we are rather dealing with an inverted U-shaped relationship: the highest levels of antigovernment demonstration intensity are typical for countries with neither the lowest nor the highest values of GDP per capita, but rather with intermediate values of this indicator. Thus, for higher values of per capita GDP we observe a negative correlation between GDP per capita and the antigovernment demonstration intensity, and for lower values it is positive. This correlation is partly explained by the following points: (1) GDP growth in authoritarian regimes leads to increased pro-democracy movement, and hence to intensifi cation of the anti-government demonstrations. And since in our database (as well as in reality) authoritarian states constitute a very high percentage of the number of states with the lowest values of per capita income, the effect of the growth of internal pressure on authoritarian regimes towards democracy with economic growth to some extent (but no not completely) explains a strong correlation between GDP per capita and the intensity of antigovernment demonstrations for low and middle income countries. (2) In the range of per capita GDP up to $ 20000, the increase in per capita GDP is quite strongly correlated with a decrease in the proportion of authoritarian regimes and the increasing share of nonauthoritarian regimes (democratic and intermediate). The presence of non-authoritarian regimes in this range is signifi cantly positively correlated with the higher intensity of anti-government demonstrations. This is another mechanism that contributes to the presence of a strong positive correlation between GDP per capita and the intensity of anti-government demonstrations in the range of interest to us. At the same time we have done a further analysis that has shown that both of the above mechanisms do not explain the correlation in question to the full, which means the need to find additional mechanisms and factors.

The Student Movement in Moscow on the Eve of the 1905 Revolution: Anatomy of a Protest ;
The role played by the student movement in the political events of the late 20thearly 21st centuries should encourage researchers to carry out a more detailed analysis of similar events in the preceding century. The student community was one of the actors involved in the modernisation process which ultimately led to the three Russian revolutions. It is important to consider the events that occurred prior to the start of the Russian Revolution in 1905 and to clarify the extent to which the students were instigators of the revolution. Particular attention should be paid to the events that took place on 5–6 December 1904: the mass student demonstrations in Moscow, accompanied by violent clashes with the police. The analysis of police surveillance reports and documents from the Ministry of Education shows that one of the factors motivating the student movement was the propaganda campaign launched by liberal newspapers in connection with the convention of the Provincial Congress and the subsequent 'banquet campaign'. The students were influenced by the mood which then captivated society; they listened to criticisms of the autocratic regime being spread by liberal professors and liberal newspapers. The students were moved by the enthusiasm inherent in youth: they eagerly took up the slogans advanced by the older generation and brought them onto the streets. The underground political parties, the Social Democrats and the Socialist Revolutionaries, had no significant impact on the students. The student movement was mainly spontaneous: the students independently joined the demonstration on 16 October and then made the Socialist Revolutionaries join the demonstration on 5 December. The participation of the SRs made this demonstration aggressive and provocative. The protesters themselves provoked the police to use force; thus, the police responded appropriately. The battles that erupted on the streets of Russia's capitals did not bring any benefits to the struggle for liberal reforms. These clashes were interpreted by Nicholas II as a consequence of the 'policy of trust' and opened the frightening prospect of growing instability. As a result, the unbridled desire of students for reform forced the government to give up the idea of making any changes.

Students' Social Representations of Risks in Interacting with the Internet: Cross-Cultural Aspect (Russia, Brazil, Romania)
Problem and purpose. Along with the obvious benefits, the digitalization of society carries its own risks. At the same time, in modern psychology there is not enough information about the differences in representations of such risks in different cultures. The purpose of the article is to empirically verify the assumption about the dependence of risk perceptions on the socio-cultural context. Methodology. The empirical part of the study was carried out through questionnaires, collected in different universities in three countries during academic and scientific visits (Russia: n = 112, Romania: n = 94, Brazil: n = 98) and drafting the evaluation reports of social risks perceptions (Abric coefficient). During the translation of the questionnaires, we used the focus group method and the method of translation of psychodiagnostic tools and questionnaires (S.V. Kudrya). Results. The data obtained showed that perceptions of risks depend on general perceptions of risks in the culture of a given country, legislation in the field of Internet security, as well as the duration and experience of interaction in social networks of the Internet. Thus, the" core " of the social representation of Russian and Romanian students about the results of risky behavior on the Internet are unproductive behavior in the information environment (TCP-92); demonstration of indifference (TCP-78) or aggressiveness (TCP-75), and for the Brazilian sample, the demonstration of psychological affliction is more typical (TCP-65). In addition, the lexical-semantic analysis of terms and concepts in the field of riskology used for empirical survey of students showed the presence of semantic cross-cultural differences in their understanding. Discussion and conclusion. The data obtained allow us to say that social perceptions of risks are influenced by socio-cultural and legislative peculiarities: The empirical part of the study showed a clear difference between the "core" and "periphery" both in the cross-cultural dimension and within the country samples. ...

Zu ihnen gehören u.a.
