Vorspann Nach der Revolution von 1918 waren überall im Reich Arbeiter- und Soldatenräte entstanden, die mit den alten agrarischen Interessenverbänden um die Kontrolle der Räte wetteiferten, die sich in den landwirtschaftlich geprägten Regionen gebildet hatten. Im Frühjahr 1919 trat mit August Davier ein Großagrarier aus Sachsen-Anhalt auf den Plan, der das Projekt eines nationalen Zusammenschlusses aller agrarischen Interessen verfolgte – schließlich aber scheiterte. Worauf wollte der Großagrarier hinaus? Und weshalb erlitt er mit seinen Ambitionen, die sich offenkundig auch gegen den neuen demokratischen Staat richteten, Schiffbruch?
