The thesis studies both theoretically and empirically the management of ecosystem services by farmers in two parts. In the first part, I study the supply and demand for productive ecosystem services by analyzing farmers' behavior. I introduce biodiversity indicators that depend on acreage into existing models from production economics. My main contribution to the literature is to prove, from the analysis of farmers' observed behavior that farmers consciously manage productive ecosystem services. I bring other elements to the literature, such as new elements on the agricultural technology or showing that the collective management of ecosystem services rarely arises spontaneously in real landscapes.In the second part, I study the demand for non- productive ecosystem services. I apply several analytical frameworks developed in environmental economics to the specificities of agriculture, i.e. the environmental service influences the supply of multiple public goods with different spatial distribution of the demand. I contribute to the literature by showing that while most of the demand for environmental services provided by farmers is captured locally (at the municipal level), a part of the demand is expressed at larger scales. This has implications for agri-environmental policies, which I explore through two examples: the pesticide savings and the maintenance of agricultural wetlands ; La thèse étudie théoriquement et empiriquement la gestion des services écosystémiques par les agriculteurs sous le prisme économique. This thesis deals with environmental services, in the domain of upkeep and management of rural areas, from a service economics perspective. After having defined those environmental services, we show the different 'institutional sectors' in which the production of these services is organized. Then, in the absence of a statistical source which can be used for environmental services, we present an inventory of these services in three rural territories. It shows that the local authorities, and not the agriculturalists, are main producers of those services. Finally, a specific analysis of the role of 'institutional sectors' is conducted through three case studies: the first is about agri-environmental policy (the 'prime à l'herbe'), the second concerns a social integration structure and the last deals with a local development action focused on environmental services. ; Cette thèse est consacrée aux services environnementaux, dans le domaine de l'entretien et de la gestion de l'espace rural, en mobilisant l'économie des services. Après avoir défini et caractérisé ces services environnementaux, nous montrons les différents « secteurs institutionnels » au sein desquels s'organise leur production. En l'absence de source statistique concernant les services environnementaux, nous présentons ensuite un inventaire de ces services produits à l'échelle de trois territoires ruraux. Il en ressort que ce sont les collectivités locales, et non les agriculteurs, les principaux producteurs de ces services. This research deals with economic policies of sustainable urban transport for travellers. The interest lies in the use of environmental economics instruments and their application to transport economics. The main aim of this work is to compare urban toll with tradable emissions permits system. The first part presents the literature and the second describes the development of microeconomic models. In the first approach, I assess the efficiency, experiments, modelling relevance of both tools, and I compare their results. The purpose of the first part is to establish if a tool is better at obtaining sustainable mobility than the other. From a theoretical point of view, no instrument is better than the other. The second part focuses on modelling. I adjust the standard traffic bottleneck model in order to better adapt the urban toll to the theme of sustainable transport. I add two extensions: the car's environmental cost and a modal policy to encourage modal split. I then develop a new tradable emissions permits system for urban motorists. Analytical and numerical model's results show both instruments feasibility and efficiency. Important variables in the models must be taken into account: the value of time, the fixed costs of collective transport and environmental knowledge.
