In: ETD - Educação Temática Digital, Band 9, Heft esp, S. 133-149
Contributions of Latin American revolutionary intellectuals for the study of the organization of liberating struggles
The aim of this paper is to establish a dialogue with the ideas of three revolutionary Latin American intellectuals – José Carlos Mariátegui, Ernesto Che Guevara and Paulo Freire, in order to share, from our intellectual tradition, a different vision, from the US/UK/European one, of what means to be critical; and to discuss possible inspirations for those of us working in Latin America and interested in contributing to the political processes of liberation which happen around us. We constructed this text in dialogue with the words of these three organic intellectuals which were able to engage creatively with the European thought, producing political appropriations and new theoretical developments informed by their praxis. These intellectuals produced worthy political theories based on their revolutionary praxis, offering ideas, insights and arguments for our analysis of the organization of social struggles and for social practices which confront our society in its imprisonment by the law of value. The paper defends the relevance of history as a space for creative dialogues with the ideas of intellectuals involved in direct activism and producing testimonies of political rebellion against external aggressions, discrimination, marginality, and social injustices; and intellectuals which produced knowledge in solidarity with these struggles.

A União Europeia e a organização das profissões de saúde na França ; L'Union Européenne et l'organisation des professions de santé en France ; European Union and the organization of the health professions in France
; European Union law is based on guaranteeing the free movement of people, goods, capital and services. Other requirements were added to these freedoms, including the ensure of a high level of protection for human health. To reconcile these objectives, it is essential to ensure that health professionals who provide services throughout the European Union are sufficiently qualified. In principle, each Member State is responsable for the general organization of its health system. However, European Union law may, in many cases, encourage or even oblige States to modify certain limits of competence among the health professions.

EUROPEAN UNION AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS: OLD TIMES, NEW TIMES?
Today, Europe is living a new decisive time as it has been in its past after World War II, in search of unity in diversity in the name of a peace project to safeguard future. If, on the one hand, Europe expresses aspirations for profound changes in its external environment, in the domestic context, it ends up colliding with aspects linked to sovereignty and human rights; on the other hand, in European foreign policy, the model reveals the search to legitimize its action. Precisely, the objective and the motivation of this study seek, through the qualitative methodology in Political Science, to analyse and understand the current context of the European Union in the international system. In fact, it is identified that this new hierarchy of powers, in the reaffirmation of the Westphalian system, where economic power comes, is bound to consolidate the democratic development between the old and new times of international relations in the destiny of Europe. From the results obtained during the analysis, in order to face again the unpredictability of the world scenario, it is a reality that Europe must promote the re-encounter of an alternative role, in other words, to assume its initial project of European edification in the name of equality of circumstances and rights of its affirmation in the global arena.

Then it concentrates on the Euro crisis, trying to identify the interests that prevailed on what was done by the area countries to overcome the current crisis, and also on what remains to be done. It ends up with a brief reflection on the political effects of the crisis on the EU balance of power. Adapted from the source document.
Anti-Roma racism and the white academic agenda: hidden blind-spots of the Education System
Education has been depicted as the main 'social elevator' to confront the internal inequalities of modern abyssal societies. Roma, as the largest, ancient European minority, are perpetually targeted as a 'sensitive' population in regard to access to and success in basic and higher education, creating a framework where Roma themselves, from an early age, are considered a 'problem'. Academia, scientific research and knowledge production are not isolated from these practices and political/epistemological framework. In this sense, the article unravels its complicity and responsibility in the maintenance of the white order, the modern civilisatory mission toward the racialised bodies and the 'ideology of integration' as the only possible political path. This paper discusses the current academic production of evidence-based research in the field of education in regards to Roma, exploring the semantics and conceptual constructions that frame the discussion related to the Roma experience in the educative system. Furthermore, the article discusses how the conceptual codification of such a framework actually serves to condition intellectual and political approaches that attempt to go beyond the complicit 'ideology of integration' when addressing public and educative policies.

A Contribuicao Da Teoria Das Relacoes Internacionais Para A Explicacao Do Processo De Integracao Monetaria Europeia
In: Relações internacionais: R:I, Heft 39

The assumptions and lessons from the main theories of European integration (neofunctionalism and intergovernmentalism) are depicted in order to understand their explanatory potential for the creation and evolution of Economic and Monetary Union. Since both theories come from international relations theories, their restrictions on the context of European integration are obvious. Notwithstanding both theories explain different moments of European monetary integration, they need to be supplemented by other theoretical approaches that capture the particularisms of European integration. Thus, the role of ideas, the awareness of the Europeanisation of politics, and the influence of powerful epistemic communities come to the surface. Adapted from the source document.

Heading for the application of the "community method" to security and defence of the European Union by means of permanent structured cooperation?
In: Lex Humana, Band 4, Heft 2, S. 1-16
The Treaty of Lisbon, in line with the failed Constitutional Treaty and in the sequence of several initiatives which had taken place, came to provide for the mechanism of permanent structured cooperation. The goal of this mechanism is to enable the arising of a vanguard of Member States, eventually ready to form the embryo of a future European Union's exclusive defence system. Although permanent structured cooperation represents a step towards the application of the "community method" to security and defence of the European Union, it doesn't still fit in that pattern. Only future can tell, if permanent structured cooperation is likely to provide the European Union with a security and defence policy based on the "community method".
Monetary Correction: a Timeline about the Tool Use, from 1944 to 1995 ; Correção Monetária: por uma Periodização do Uso da Ferramenta, de 1944 a 1995
This article works with the history of how the tool inflation adjustment of annual reports was arranged over half a century until its extinction. To do this, we related the social contexts, the legislation, and the academic perception corresponding to its best implementation in the financial system of Brazil. This study introduces a chronology of using this tool since the 1940s, when a sporadic revaluation of assets began, until the 1990s, when the signs of fatigue and the very extinction of inflation adjustment became apparent in Brazil. The importance of this historical contextualization relies on the possibility of understanding the history of inflation adjustment related to recent events in the country's history, marked over these 50 years by troubled times in national politics, permeated with strong instabilities. The Brazilian economy has faced, in its recent history, long periods of high inflation rates. Several measures and plans were needed to reduce inflation rates and seek economic stability. Even so, it was observed that, in the first moments when the country experienced a less severe inflation process, compared to some later ones, there was support from a regulatory legislation and concern to measure and mitigate the impacts of devaluation of the currency's purchasing power on the assets of companies. Thus, we also point out the limits imposed by the prohibition to use this tool to deal with the lack of accuracy of annual reports prepared by companies since 1996.
