DEVELOPMENT OF THE TORT LAW SCHOOL IN ST. VOLODYMYR UNIVERSITY – TARAS SHEVCHENKO NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF KYIV
In: Bulletin of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Legal Studies, Heft 118, S. 80-85
The paper deals with a research of Tort law school development in St. Volodymyr's University – Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The purpose of the research is to analyse the development of the Tort law school and to study the main trends and key directions of the development. The author applied lots of different research methods, among which were historical and legal method (for the analysis of the works from the past), analysis and synthesis (for stating the peculiarities of the research approaches in different studies' periods). Also, such methods as philosophy methods (dialectic and hermeneutic), general research methods (systemic and structural-functional), general logic methods (induction and deduction, analogy, abstraction, generalization, formalization, and modelling) were used.
The topic of civil torts was interesting for the researchers from Kyiv University law school any time while the depth of interest and research approaches differed depending on the historical period. Before the revolution of 1917 the researchers mostly looked on the torts as on the type of civil obligation and the reward for damage caused. No one treated the torts from the standpoint of a type of civil liability at that time. The Soviet period of the Tort law School development was characterized by a change of the research vector. The researchers started focusing on civil torts as liability rather than civil obligations. Tort liability is a type of civil liability and the latter is a type of legal liability. That causes a regime when the researchers (some well-known names of that time are: Gennadiy Matveev, Yuriy Matveev, Dina Bobrova, Yaroslavna Shevchenko etc.) mostly analyse civil tort as a civil liability. They focused their attention on the foundations and the conditions of tort liability. Precisely at that time, the theory of "civil wrong compound" as the main foundation of civil liability appeared. Independent Ukraine spawned a new pleiad of researchers whose research interest was civil torts. Modern civil law doctrine started refusing the understanding of civil tort as a type of civil liability. It comes back to the tort as a type of obligation. Moreover, modern researchers look on the tort's issues much wider – through the prism of legal regulation mechanism. Constantly, modern researchers of Taras Shevchenko National University Law School pay great attention to the new topical spheres of torts, particularly to non-pecuniary damage compensation, damage compensation caused by the State and State agencies and product liability together with digital product liability. Keywords: tort, civil liability, damage compensation, history of legal research, scientific school.

Overtime, the hospital received a renovated new building, deployed comprehensive assistance to the military with specialists, where it is located now. The authority stimulated the improvement of the quality of work by hold in socialist competitions, celebrating Soviet anniversaries, organizing annual military exercises etc. The change of managers of the institution helped to improve the professionalism of doctors by holding seminars on different topics, conferences, researches, equipment upgrades, etc. on the basis of the hospital and other institutions. Guarding the health of their defenders due to the beginning of military events in eastern Ukraine, thus confirming its necessity and significance.

To the history of kinology ; До історії кінології
The modern cynological service of Ukraine is an integral part of the National Police of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The purpose of this study was to shed light on the history of cynology. To address this issue, the task was to collect and systematize data on the development of cynology. The main purpose of dog training in the law enforcement system is primarily to assist employees of these structures in improving the effectiveness of their activities to prevent, stop, detect and investigate crimes, using the special knowledge of dog handlers, as well as their skillful use of service dogs as a special means. The following research methods were used in the research process: general scientific – logical analysis, generalization, classification, systematization, actualization and comparison; historical – biographical, problem-chronological, comparative-historical.The history of the human-dog relationship dates back more than 500,000 years. Archival documents contain records of the use of dogs in military affairs more than 6,000 years ago in Eurasia, Africa and North America. As early as 7000 BC, purposeful dog breeding was widespread. No other animal species shows such diversity. Today there are more than 400 breeds of dogs, not counting crossbreeds. Despite this biodiversity, all domestic dogs belong to the same family, the Canis familiis, whose wild ancestor is the wolf, as evidenced by DNA analysis. To date, there are three main areas of dog breeding: service, which includes herding, associated with various branches of animal husbandry, riding (harness) and own service – the use of dogs for guard, search and other services; hunting (industrial and sports); decorative (breeding of mostly domestic dogs of original forms, companion dogs). Thus, the study of the history of cynology will allow more extensive use of the capabilities of dogs in the modern cynological service.

THE PROBLEM OF COVERAGE OF THE RUSSIAN-GEORGIAN WAR IN AUGUST 2008 IN THE WESTERN HISTORIOGRAPHY ; ВИСВІТЛЕННЯ РОСІЙСЬКО-ГРУЗИНСЬКОЇ ВІЙНИ 2008 Р. У ЗАХІДНІЙ ІСТОРІОГРАФІЇ
The article provides a historiographic analysis of Western scientific publications on the Russian-Georgian war in August 2008. Given the ongoing Russian aggression in the south and east of Ukraine, the study of this war, its causes and consequences, internal and external incentives is becoming increasingly important. The relevance of the article is to identify the features of the Western view regarding the causes and prerequisites for the war outbreak, which mainly considers this problem from the outside in the context of relations between the Russian Federation and Georgia. The publication provides a comparative analysis of the conclusions of Western researchers regarding the causes and consequences of the war for the Black Sea Region states and the further international situation development. The study confirms that the Russian-Georgian war of August 2008 went beyond the confrontation between the two states, becoming a global factor for the creation of a camp of the participating states of the "new cold war". After the end of the war, the reaction of Western representatives both in the media and in the scientific community spread widely. Western authors rather widely discussed the Russian-Georgian war of 2008, while avoiding considering the war in the context of the domestic and foreign political situation in Georgia, evaluating it superficially, only taking into account the relationship between the two states. The purpose of the article is to carry out a comparative analysis of the Western researchers statements about the causes, prerequisites and consequences of the "Five-day war" for Georgia, Russia and the world community, to find common and distinctive features in the statements of the researchers of this problem.
