The global burden of the increasing trend of children in street situations around the world is a major concern that calls for global attention. Although the prevalence of street children varies from country to country. This disparity owes to the fact there exist unique social and cultural differences across society and also the extent of social inclusion also varies from one society to society. Substantively, existing literature on street children have identified that there exists an ambiguity in describing street children. However, the increase in rural-urban migration owing to industrialization of cities have helped to increase the prevalence of children in street situations. Conferring from the work of United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) the concept of street children was categorized into three groups to include: street living children, street hustling children, and the children of street families. Hence, in order to examine the degree of the burden of street children in Nigeria, this research was steered to explore the social concept of street children and the support available to them. The theoretical frame work for this research was drawn from the tenets of Strain theory of deviance by Robert Agnew (1995). The study targeted experts working with children in street situations. The research methodology for data collection employed the use of a one-on-one interview via zoom with five experts working with street children which was designed using the objectives of the study. The collected data was analyzed through the use of the qualitative method of content analysis which entailed the use of verbatim quotation and themes that corresponded to the addressed objectives. Findings from the research revealed that poverty, rural-urban migration, family breakdown, terrorism and insurgency, illusion of freedom were the major push and pull factors influence the prevalence of children in street situations in Nigeria. The research also revealed that the percentage of children in street situations in South-Western (Lagos) and North-Eastern region of Nigeria are more than other locations. With regards to the gender patterns of children in street situations in Nigeria, there are more males than females who are street children. The means of survival of most children in street situations in Nigeria include involvement in deviant behaviors. Also, the research also revealed they receive limited social support from the government and majority of the social supports they received are from Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and religious organizations. Be to, kyla dviprasmybių ir apibrėžiant gatvės vaikų sampratą.
