; This article begins with a description of expressionist aesthetics by means of acomparison of its principles with the ones of academical art and the ones of the fauves. This description is a prelude to the examination and the reception of expressionist artby the national-socialist ideology. This reception process gets its highest point with theexhibition "Degenerate Art". As a result of this exhibition it might be thought that the expressionist art was always ananti-Nazi one, and therefore, an antimilitarist and anti-imperialist one. It could also bethought that the National-socialism was an enemy of expressionist art. Both of thesestatements can be considered the truth only in part. The group of expressionist avant-garde felt in many occasions as heirs of the Gothic tradition and wardens of the Germanessence. Meanwhile, National-socialist factions were supporters of expressionism as anational art. The exhibition designed the position of the regime about modern art andthe end of an ideological polemic in ...

ABSTRACT: In the course of his reign, Alexander fashioned his royal persona by making use of Achaimenid court protocol. Access to the king, especially at the time of audiences, was regulated ever more strictly and governed by a rigid set of rules. e graded access to the king marked an individual's rank in the empire. Alexander took over certain traditions of distancing from the Persian kings, while simultaneously establishing new forms by elevating his companions to specific functions, for example as human barriers against sight or human shields. Later, Hellenistic kings followed this route, but not without carefully modelling the ceremonial of their public appearances in the Greek poleis along the rules of the theatre. In so doing, they satisfied the need for autonomy which was so deeply rooted in traditional Greek notions of government. Keywords: Alexander the Great, court protocol, Hellenism, monarchy, representation.

; In this study we report the archaeological results of the excavation of the prehistoric settlement Fuente Álamo (Cuevas del Almanzora, in Almería) carried out in the autumn of 1999. Plans and sections of trench 42 situated on the most western slope, some of which are illustrated in this article, confirm that there, as observed on the south and east slopes, had been intensive habitation which relative frequently contained graves. On the south slope two graves, number 111 and 112, both female and both buried in pithoi, have been excavated. Grave 111 contained particularly rich grave goods, unusual for the south slope. It was rich in pottery, contained 16 rings and bracelets of bronze and silver, 12 silver beads of different types and finally more than 30 beads of stone, some of which were imported. It is appropriate to underline the importance of the stratigraphic sequence obtained in the upper area of the south-facing slope, which illustrates a considerable architectural difference when compared to the important buildings excavated on the top of the site. Moreover, it poses many questions about the variety of buildings in other areas of the settlement. Continuous habitation during the early Late Bronze Age has clearly been confirmed. Thus, accepting the post-Argaric concept and the political fragmentation of the previous State, we will obtain a definition of this prehistoric period, in relation to the Mycenaean world and to the Atlantic-Mediterranean process involved in the formation of the Tartessian world.

; In 1950, the head of French government, René Pleven, proposed the start-up of the European Defence Community. It was a project to accomplish the integration of all the national armies that were part of the European Coal and Steel Community in order to achieve military and defence integration through a common European army. This ambitious project failed in 1954, but the idea has been never forgotten. Through the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, there have been several proposals to relaunch this project within the framework of the EU. The objective of this work is to study, through the analysis of different theories of European integration, the reasons that have recently resuscitated this idea from the hand of Macron and Merkel. The will is to see to what extent this proposal is a supranational Europeanist initiative, or obeys national wills with the ultimate goal of re-impelling the Franco-German axis through intergovernmentalism. In the same way, and through the different texts -treatments, declarations, reports and articles- we will study to what extent this proposal can be materialized, as well as its capacity to face the treats that the European Union has on its agenda.

; This paper deals with the problem of the transition from the collective burial rituals to the individual ones, in the Late Neolithic - Copper Age of the Iberian Meseta, in its Spanish and European theoretical debate framework, but especially studying the La Sima Burial Mound, Miño de Medina (Soria, Spain) excavation data, which presents an interesting funerary sequence, where this transition can be analyzed in detail. A social interpretation is proposed about the whole process, in which the economic development along the Neolithic produced increasing surpluses, that caused the emergence of social differences, that were initially integrated within the megalithic collective burial rituals, but finally ending in the emergence of political leaders during the Copper Age, which looked for legitimation reusing the previous communal Neolithic monuments, but with a clear intention of spatially segregating its presence.
