Das malaiische Bildungs- und Erziehungssystem ist aufgrund der kolonialen Vergangenheit dem britischen angeglichen. Das vorliegende Arbeitspapier kommentiert die wichtigsten Eckdaten des malaiischen Hochschulwesens hinsichtlich u.a.folgender Aspekte: der Ausbildungsmarkt; Hochschulpolitik; Studentenzahl und Fächerverteilung; Auslandsstudium und Regierungsstipendien; die Einrichtung von Hochschulen nach deutschem Muster.
