Este artículo propone un análisis de los contextos de producción de una etnografía efectuada en el año 2008 durante la navegación de un buque de la Armada que patrullaba las doscientas millas del Mar Argentino. El trabajo tiene los siguientes objetivos: por un lado, identificar algunas percepciones y experiencias que orientaron las relaciones entre los militares y el antropólogo; por el otro, reconocer cómo esas relaciones incidieron en la producción de los conocimientos etnográficos. Por último, estos resultados serán considerados en relación con debates teórico-metodológicos acerca del carácter dialógico del conocimiento antropológico y la denominada "antropología hecha en casa". ; This article proposes an analysis of the contexts of production of an ethnography carried out in the year 2008, during the navigation of a Navy warship that patrolled the Argentine Sea's 200 miles. The work has the following objectives: on the one hand, to identify certain perceptions and experiences that oriented relations between the military and the anthropologist. On the other hand, to recognize how these relationships affected the production of ethnographic knowledge. This dissertation applies an ethnological and long-temporal view of borders. The region of Åland, being an autonomous and demilitarised island territory under Finnish sovereignty, serves as an illuminative case of the work that goes into keeping borders fixed for two reasons. The region being maritime is the first one, and it being in a betwixt position between a state and a province is the second. The study seeks to explore the borders as cultural entities composed by layers – legal, geographical, political and social – and the processes through which the borders have been anchored. As important are the ways in which the borders extend into everyday life by creating a local order that activities relate to. Borders are hence seen as both objects and sources of actions. Seeing borders as objects of action function as an entry into an exploration of how the borders have been objects of continuous work since their establishment in 1921. The idea of them being sources of actions serves as a window into how the borders in numerous ways have influenced everyday life for inhabitants. In order to analyse the work that goes into borders as well as the actions borders cause, the study explores both the authoritative borderwork and how the borders or their effects have been encountered and handled by individuals who live within. The multifaceted view is achieved through a broad material consisting of archived documents, archived ethnological interviews, participant observations and contemporary interviews, in combination with studies of law and publications. Through the use of the phenomenological concept of practico-inert, the study reveals both how borders are outcomes of incessant human actions, and how they create an undisputable structure for individuals to observe and relate to, but not necessarily obey. In summary, the study contributes with a detailed description of how bordered places are created, and how individuals navigate the structures that they live within.

[Abstract] Providing citizens with the ability to move around in an accessible way is a requirement for all cities today. However, modeling city infrastructures so that accessible routes can be computed is a challenge because it involves collecting information from multiple, large-scale and heterogeneous data sources. In this paper, we propose and validate the architecture of an information system that creates an accessibility data model for cities by ingesting data from different types of sources and provides an application that can be used by people with different abilities to compute accessible routes. The article describes the processes that allow building a network of pedestrian infrastructures from the OpenStreetMap information (i.e., sidewalks and pedestrian crossings), improving the network with information extracted obtained from mobile-sensed LiDAR data (i.e., ramps, steps, and pedestrian crossings), detecting obstacles using volunteered information collected from the hardware sensors of the mobile devices of the citizens (i.e., ramps and steps), and detecting accessibility problems with software sensors in social networks (i.e., Twitter).
