Ausgehend von der gegenwärtigen Situation der Gewerkschaften im Königreich Nepal, das zu den am wenigsten entwickelten Ländern der Welt gehört, stellt der Verfasser des Handbuchartikels Größe, Einfluss und Struktur der gewerkschaftlichen Organisationen dar. Im weiteren wird das Verhältnis der Gewerkschaften zum Staat und zu den politischen Parteien erläutert, wobei in einem letzten Abschnitt besonders auf die gesetzlichen Grundlagen gewerkschaftlicher Arbeit eingegangen wird. Dabei betont der Autor, daß für die Masse der Landarbeiter kein Arbeitsgesetz existiert. Ergänzt wird die inhaltliche Darstellung durch Literaturhinweise. (KS)
