Molecular biology has made tremendous strides over the last five years. The new biology allows us to prepare monoclonal antibodies to defined antigens; to detect, isolate and clone specific genes; and to insert these genes into defined sites in different cells giving new functions to old organisms. These revolutionary developments have been followed closely by researchers, businessmen, politicians and philosophers, as well as by those involved in the clinical care of patients. Although our understanding of human molecular biology is increasing rapidly, it is the development of monoclonal antibodies that has the most immediate application in the clinic. There have been several reports of their use in the diagnosis, localisation and treatment of human malignant disease. This review describes developments that are likely to have direct relevance to patient care in the near future.

Interest in integrative oncology (IO) is growing globally. Patients with cancer are actively using traditional complementary and integrative medicine (TCIM) as part of their cancer and survivorship care. Published studies from around the world report increasing use of TCIM by people living with cancer. This article summarizes the presentations that took place during a symposium titled, "Integrative Oncology: International Perspectives" at the International Research Congress on Integrative Medicine and Health in Baltimore, 2018. The purpose of the presentations was to examine whether cancer services across a variety of geographical regions, including Australia, Canada, the United States, and the European Union, were actively responding to cancer survivors' demand for TCIM. The presenters highlighted utilization rates and both facilitators and barriers to the provision of IO services in their respective countries and regions. The audience discussion following the presentations drew out many noteworthy perspectives.

How oncology can influence the educational field and if teachers should know about oncology or not, they should always know about it and they should also know how to treat students at school, as well as work on inclusion day by day. Another important aspect is prevention in oncology, if there is prevention in the future, people would have a better quality of life.
The HERMES (Harmonising Education in Respiratory Medicine for European Specialists) project is funded by the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and has the declared aims of harmonising education in thoracic medicine, recognising diplomas and certificates of qualification, and improving free access and mobility for medical specialists across the European Union (EU). This takes into account Directive 2013/55/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council [1] on the recognition of professional qualifications, one of the pillars of EU legislation. Moreover, it conforms to the fact that there is a shortage of medical/surgical specialists in several European countries, which means that more physicians of other European and non-European countries will be needed to sustain the functioning and development of health services in future years and decades [2]. HERMES is working towards the development of harmonised and structured programmes for education across respiratory specialties to ensure that the best care is delivered for those suffering from respiratory diseases.
