Among the many features that go hand in hand with the recent onset of populism in many countries, an interesting phenomenon is surely the shift of public discourse in the direction of social media. Is there anything special about communication in social media that is particularly suitable for the development of such movements and ideas? In what follows, I provide an attempt to read Facebook comments as showing an anaphoric structure. This analysis permits me to give emphasis on a number of interesting features that such communications exhibit. Finally, I try also to highlight some of the main implications of this model in comparison with ordinary communication.
This thesis investigates presumptive effects of the political participation on the economic growth through social capital accumulation. In the second section, by using an endogenous growth model, we examine the issue with a comparison of two economic systems; decentralized and centralized economy in the latter of which the representative household internalizes all externalities in social, productive and private sector, in contrast to the decentralized economy. In the third section, we approach the same point by adopting an efficient bargaining model in which we assume that average level of the political participation is a contributor to the labour union's bargaining strength. Upon this approach, we develop a comparative analysis by solving the representative household optimization problem in two different scenarios, with and without efficient wage hypothesis. We demonstrate that there exists an effect of the political participation resulting in a positive stationary growth rate in all models. Moreover, we found the average level of political participation to be correlated with the bargained wage rate and the bargained employment rate under the ef- ficient wage hypothesis.

Bibliothèques, crises et participation ; 'Save the libraries': how many times have we heard/read this? But what's exactly worth saving? What justifies – today – the very existence of libraries? French public libraries' answer to this question is: their mission for citizens emancipation and empowerment. The paper analyzes the different definitions and meanings of the word 'crisis', then lists which services can be implemented by public libraries in response to the current economic, social and political crisis. Finally, it presents the first results of a survey (still underway) on citizens participation in the libraries of the Rhône-Alpes area.In conclusion, in order to respond to the crisis libraries must increase the access to information for everyone, implement new services to support individuals (for example in job search or professional re-qualification), and – last but not least – foster citizens participation in order to transform the library in a space where people can experiment – better: can contribute in creating – a different society.
