The aim of this study was to highlight the key finding of corporate political connections research. This study used 61 previous studies related to corporate political connections to develop a structured literature review. It was found that most studies were conducted in developing countries as they provided a unique institutional setting for conduct political connections research. In addition, a political connection is used as independent variables and the previous studies focuses on three related topics, which are corporate performance, corporate action, and loan and special rights. Literature review study become more important nowadays, as the number of empirical quantitative research amount has been increased lately. This analysis also has research and practical implementation for researcher, practitioners, and regulators.

Nano power diplomacy is a diplomacy done by individuals and small groups, without bargaining and negotiating. Diplomacy without theoretical and scientific approaches, because it is just a small nod (actor unit) that does not carry a real-power set. Nano power diplomacy is an activity that emphasizes sharing of symbols between citizens, person to person direct contact. That is, nano power diplomacy is a diplomacy practice based on socio-cultural relations between people, between cultures, which tries to overcome differences and cultural barriers in building an equitable human community, such as race, ethnicity, customs, language, social level -economy, skin color and differences of trust and religion. A truly initiated diplomacy by the individual, which does not speak of conflict mediation and economic perspective, without bilateral, multilateral and summit meeting typologies, but diplomacy that emphasizes interpersonal communication and public communication. There is no secrecy, hidden agendas and transparencies, because every participant in nano power diplomacy is a human being who is born by a product of the same destiny, namely God the Creator. They multiply, eat and drink of the same type. They also have a lifestyle in much the same way. Finally, they also communicate in more or less the same way and pattern, verbal and non-verbal communication. Thus, human beings are universal beings who have the ability to live in kinship. Realism has been the dominant conceptual approach to studying Indonesian foreign policy. This article, however, considers realist analyses to be insucient since their emphasis on the struggle for power and security in the system of states has led to the neglect of the importance of perspectives which focus on order. To ll the gap it then intends to apply the English School perspective which focuses on the concept of international society to trace the nature and function of Indonesian foreign policy. Two cases are examined, including the Asian African Conference and Association of South East Asian Nations, to demonstrate the relevance of international society for policy ideas and action. The central argument is that the Indonesian elite worldview indicates that the creation and maintenance of order in international societies are ones which are prominent objectives legitimizing the conduct of Indonesia's external relations.

Large-scale Social Limitation (hereinafter referred to as PSBB) is one form of concern. The government and local governments are Pendemic throughout Indonesia and the world, namely Pandemic Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19). Bogor Regency, which is one of the buffer cities of the Republic of Indonesia, is an area that is quite vulnerable in spreading the Corona virus. Why? because many DKI Jakarta employees / laborers live in Bogor Regency, whose mobility is very high. With the birth of Regent Regulation No. 16 of 2020 concerning Implementation of Large- Scale Social Restrictions in Handling COVID-19 in order to conserve the use of Covid 19. The purpose of this study is to analyze the Implementation of Large Scale Social Limitation Policies in the Government of Bogor Regency. This research method uses Qualitative Methods with Literature Study research methods. (Huberman, Miles, 1994). The technique of inviting data is by searching Scientific Journals, Online Mass Media, Legislation and Books. The technique to determine Online Media by Pusposive, while for data analysis using Nvivo 12 Plus. Test the validity of the data by testing the data source. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Large-Scale Social Limitation Policy in the Bogor District Government has not yet proceeded, starting from the clash of authority between the Central Government and the Regional Government so that it cannot make improvements, and many more are in accordance with the provisions of Covid-19 and its distribution. This article aimed to describe the socio-political conditions after the Bongaya Treaty of 1667. This study employed the historical research method (library research). The researcher applied several approaches, namely the historical approach, religious approach, anthropological approach, and sociological approach. The Makassar War is a momentum for change from all aspects, not only changes from the political aspect but also the social, cultural and economic aspects that greatly tormented the people of Gowa. As a King, Sultan Hasanudin was responsible for the fate of the royal people of Gowa, which was getting sad. Sultan Hasanudin had to consider this even though he wanted to continue to fight. Sultan Hasanudin really understood the suffering of the people of the Kingdom of Gowa. Due to these considerations, the war lasted approximately four years, starting from 1666-1669 and ending with the Bungaya Treaty, which consisted of 30 articles. The treaty affected all aspects of Gowa community life, not only in terms of political factors but also the existence of Muslims. Since then, the power and influence of the Netherlands in East Indonesia began to be embedded towards serious colonialism. Sultan Hasanuddin, who dashed to defend his country until the last second has controlled the Kingdom of Gowa for 16 years; namely 1653-1669 and died in Gowa on June 12, 1670.

Social Forestry at Java island or known as IPHPS (Permit for the Utilization of Social Forestry) is part of the agrarian reform of the forestry sector which expected to solve tenurial problems and improve forest governance. The successful implementation of this program could not be separated of the roles of stakeholder involved. This study aimed to 1) identified stakeholders and their roles in the implementation of IPHPS, and 2) analyzed the relationships between stakeholders in the implementation of IPHPS. This research was conducted in the KPH Telawa area of Boyolali Regency, Central Java. This research uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data collection was done by observation, interviews, and literature studies. Data were analyzed based on the research objectives at stakeholder analysis conducted by identifying stakeholders and their roles as well as the relationships between them in the implementation of IPHPS. They involved in the implementation of IPHPS at the Telawa KPH included Perhutani (KPH) Telawa, KTH IPHPS holders (Wonomakmur 1, Wonomakmur 2, Wonolestari 1, and Wonolestari 2) LMDH Participants PHBM, BPKH IX, BPDASHL Pemali Jratun, Field Companion, BDK Kadipaten, Forestry Foundation, NGO Rejo Semut Ireng, PSKL, LHK Office of Central Java Province, BPSKL Jabalnusra, Forest Development Financing Center Public Service Agency (P3H-BLU). Each of the above stakeholders has their respective strengths and interests. This affects the pattern of relations between the stakeholders which in turn will determine the results of the program. A good relationship will support the successful implementation of the program while a bad relationship can hamper the implementation of the program.Keywords: analysis, stakeholders, implementation, social forestry

Purpose of the study: This study aims to examine foreign debt as a source of financing for economic development. This research is expected to provide (1) an overview of debt as a source of funding for state projects, (2) investigate its impacts and (3) offer additional knowledge of its Islamic perspective. Methodology: This research is a qualitative study using the study literature approach. This research is conducted by analysing books, literature, journals, and magazines with themes related to the focus of the discussion on this study. It is expected that the method used can provide insight, general knowledge, and develop the view of Islam in relation to foreign debt. Main Findings: The government has to ensure that the state has the ability to pay off its obligations in the future; guarantee that loans have to be free from interest; prioritize taking loans from internal sources rather than external sources. In Addition, debts are not intended for deferred needs and not taking loans that exceed their needs. Applications of this study: basically the results of this study can be applied to any country that considers the use of public debt, like other Islamic systems. Novelty/Originality of this study:This research is conceptual research in an Islamic perspective. This study successfully examined comprehensively related to the public debt with the Islamic approach.

Purpose The study aims to examine the military-connected firms' risk preference, specifically in the innovation intensity level context. The authors argue that firms with military-experienced top management have conservative and risk-averse behavior, influencing the innovation investment policy. Design/methodology/approach The authors use nonfinancial Indonesian-listed firms from 2010 to 2018 amounted to 2,504 firm-year observations. Findings The authors document a negative relationship between military connection with both innovation activities and outputs. The additional analysis documents that risk-preferences of military-connected firms will be drastically changed when the industry has a high digital level, which confirms that risk-averse military-experienced management is less dominant with adaptation skill. The authors also identify that veterans did not need a long tenure to influence firms' innovation investment policy. Lastly, the result is robust due to various endogeneity tests employed. Originality/value This study further examines military-connected firms' technological innovation compared to prior studies and enriches the related literature.

Indonesia's mutual cooperation culture through active community participation in village development. However, the role of these positive values in society is fading and giving rise to pseudo-culture. Purpose This study aims to develop an Islamic crowdfunding model based on a website platform for startup companies. Design/methodology/approach Apart from reviewing related literature, specifically focus group discussion with 16 CEO of startup companies, in-depth interview with two crowdfunding provider, Fiqh expert and technology platform expert for the development of an Islamic crowdfunding website platform for startup companies. Findings The concept of Islamic crowdfunding is recommended as a funding solution for small and medium-sized enterprises and startup companies. Therefore, it was deemed crucial for this study to develop an Islamic crowdfunding model based on a website platform as a form of innovative acceleration to provide alternative funding for a startup company, which subsequently expands to a growing and sustainable business. Furthermore, the use of a website platform for the operation of a crowdfunding mechanism is deemed as an effective means to link cross-geographical investors with the startup company owners in Indonesia, specifically East Java. Practical implications Islamic crowdfunding website platform can be the solution for startup companies to obtain capital funds while startup companies are not able to provide collateral to attain financial assistance and experience problems. Expectedly, the government should provide legality, regulation, licensing and socialization matters pertaining to crowdfunding to obtain legal legality from the country. Originality/value There is still no research to develop the Islamic crowdfunding model using a website platform. This study was expected to provide essential insights on the effective development of an Islamic crowdfunding website platform integrated with startup companies, investors and Sharia committee.

Foreign direct investment is the largest source of external funds in both developed and developing countries. Some literature explains that one of the barriers to investment flow is corruption. Thus, this study aims to determine the effect of corruption as measured by the corruption perception index on foreign direct investment. Corruption is a political risk that affects the flow of foreign direct investment. The estimation results of the Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) show that the corruption perception index has a significant positive effect on foreign direct investment. The author also uses market seeking and efficiency seeking variables as potential factors that influence investors to direct foreign direct investment.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap keterkaitan demokrasi dengan kekuasaan adat dalam menangani eks pengungsi Timor-Leste di Kabupaten Belu, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur, Indonesia, terkait dengan praktik demokrasi. Lebih spesifiknya, demokrasi dibatasi pada konteks potensi eksklusi akses Dana Desa bagi penduduk baru. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan studi kasus untuk mengungkap praktik demokrasi terkait implementasi Dana Desa yang terjalin erat dengan budaya lokal. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah penduduk baru di Desa Fatuba'a yang secara geografis berdekatan dengan perbatasan antara Indonesia dan Timor-Leste. Hampir separuh dari penduduk Fatuba'a adalah penduduk baru eks pengungsi Timor-Leste. Banyaknya penduduk baru telah menjadi masalah sosial yang kompleks bagi Desa Fatuba'a. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan diskusi kelompok terfokus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lembaga adat memiliki peran yang signifikan dalam mendistribusikan kekuasaan baik dalam aspek pemerintahan maupun pembangunan desa, termasuk dalam penyaluran penggunaan dana desa. Suku Liudasik merupakan suku dominan yang berhasil mendapatkan legitimasi penduduk baru dengan memberikan tanah ulayat sebagai tempat tinggal dan bercocok tanam atas kontribusi mereka untuk memilih kepala desa dari suku Liudasik. Dalam konteks Dana Desa, penggunaannya juga menunjukkan adanya saling ketergantungan antara penghuni baru dengan suku Liudasik. Dengan demikian, penduduk baru memiliki akses ke dana desa. Tidak ada eksklusi terhadap penduduk baru untuk penggunaan Dana Desa Fatuba'a. Ketergantungan penduduk baru pada lembaga adat telah melanggengkan kekuasaan adat suku Liudasik. ; This research aims to reveal the relations between democracy and customary power in handling the East Timorese ex-refugees in Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia, related to democratic practices More specifically, democracy is limited to the context of potential exclusion access of the Village Fund for new residents. This research used a qualitative and case studies approach to reveal democratic practices related to the implementation of Village Funds that are intertwined with the local culture. The subjects in this research were new residents in Fatuba'a Village which is geographically close to the cross-border between Indonesia and East Timor. Nearly half of Fatuba'a's populations are new residents who are East Timorese ex-refugees. A large number of new residents have become a complex social problem for Fatuba'a Village. The data collection techniques consist of observation, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions. The results showed that customary institutions play a significant role in distributing power both in aspects of government and village development, including the distribution of village funds-use. The Liudasik tribe is a successful dominant tribe obtaining legitimacy of the new residents by granting customary land as a place to live and farming for their contribution to elect the village head from the Liudasik tribe. In the context of the Village Fund, its use also shows the interdependence between new residents and the Liudasik tribe. Consequently, the new residents have an access to village funds. There is no exclusion of new residents for the Fatuba'a's Village Fund-use. The dependence of new residents on customary institutions has perpetuated the customary power of the Liudasik tribe.

Purpose One of the strongest connections in politics in developing countries is through military links. This study aims to examine the auditor choice preference of the militarily-connected firms in Indonesia, an emerging country where there is a strong influence from the military on political decision-making. Design/methodology/approach The analysis used 3,473 firms-year observations listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange spanning from 2003 to 2017 using regression and other statistical tests. Findings The results reveal that firms with a militarily-connected director are less likely to appoint one of the Big 4 auditors. Using the military reform as a natural experiment, the finding shows that militarily-connected firms did not change their auditor choice preference even after the military reform. Interestingly, I find that connected firms are associated with high earnings management. In addition, the different retirement position level and military affiliations of the connected directors generate different outcomes related to the auditor choice decision. Overall, the results indicate that militarily-connected firms were less likely to appoint one of the Big 4 auditors both before and after the military reforms. These results are robust, even after the author controlled for political connections, year fixed effects and industry fixed effects. Research limitations/implications Because of the limitations of the prior literature on military connections, this study is developed based on the assumption that the militarily-connected directors have identical behavior whether they serve in either public or private companies. However, this assumption could be invalid which potentially affects the interpretation of some of the results in this study. Originality/value This paper provides direct evidence of the auditor choice preference of firms with a military connection. The evidence builds on the existing literature on the difference in auditor choice preference between politically and militarily-connected firms.

Although there are currently more than 120 countries that have adopted the IFRS, an attempt be made to perform accounting standards around the world is still the subject of debate. The emergence of this discourse engenders debate among academics about the advantages and disadvantages of such standards to be put in place in all countries. Scientific studies, literature and other research, has been conducted to respond to this discourse (see e.g. Abeysekera, 2005; Perry & Andreas, 2006; Soderstrom & Sun, 2010) and it turns out globalisation discourse around accounting standards continues to produce opinions and various research findings. This research aims to analyse the adoption of the IFRS through the dialectic of Hegel's thesis, antithesis and synthesis. This research uses a qualitative paradigm with a case study approach. Data is obtained through an in-depth interview technique, targeting informants including academics and practitioners of accounting. The study found the agenda of global accounting standards is in line with the neo-liberal agenda, wanting freedom in competition. This agenda assumes that the free market will lead to efficiency. The efficiency aimed for, in laying out and withdrawing funds, has been facilitated within accounting through the application of one global standard, in favour of providing needed information. This research found that the urge to adopt the IFRS can be found in three slice accounting ecology, i.e. the actor-related slice, the political-related slice, and the businessrelated slice. There is a mutual connection between these three ecologies. The mutual connection between these three ecologies is scrutinised when its origin is on the same mission, namely to achieve the interconnected financial market.
