Artykuł stanowi próbę wprowadzenia refleksji nad procesem radykalizacji do polskiego świata nauki. Autor obszernie omawia różne sposoby definiowania tego procesu oraz dokonuje przeglądu istniejących modeli teoretycznych. Trzon artykułu stanowi analiza danych pochodzących z Europejskiego Sondażu Wartości, w której zbadano związki pomiędzy radykalizacją a cechami społeczno-demograficznymi, przekonaniami politycznymi i gospodarczymi, a także poglądami na temat demokracji.
The article discusses the cultural reasons for the radicalization of Western European foreign terrorist fighters (FTF) who migrated to Syria and Iraq after 2011 to fight in the ranks of the Islamic State (ISIS) and other jihadist organizations. Literature review and available research findings led to the conclusion that one of the structural reasons for this mobilization was identity problems and a state of anomie found among some Western European youth from immigrant backgrounds. In addition, mobilization in cyberspace played a major role along with efficient recruitment propaganda on social platforms and instant messaging apps. ; Artykuł poświęcony jest wyjaśnieniu kulturowych przyczyn radykalizacji zachodnieuropejskich zagranicznych bojowników terrorystycznych (foreign terrorist fighters, FTF), którzy po 2011 r. migrowali do Syrii i Iraku, aby walczyć w szeregach Państwa Islamskiego (ISIS) oraz innych organizacji dżihadystycznych. Przegląd literatury i dostępnych wyników badań pozwolił na sformułowanie wniosku, że jedną ze strukturalnych przyczyn tej mobilizacji były problemy z tożsamością oraz stan anomii występujący wśród części zachodnioeuropejskiej młodzieży ze środowisk imigranckich. Ponadto ogromną rolę odgrywała mobilizacja w cyberprzestrzeni i sprawna propaganda rekrutacyjna na platformach społecznościowych i w komunikatorach internetowych.

The paper shows some aspects of 'border identity' of the two Spanish cities-exclaves: Ceuta and Melilla. It analyses the multicultural dimensions of coexistence between Muslim (Moroccan) and Spanish populations. The article refers to some political, social and economic challenges: Moroccan revindication policy, growing number of Muslim communities, illegal migration, the phenomenon of violent radicalization inspired by the jihadi ideology etc. In this context, the paper focuses on the most important elements of 'the border identity' which are crucial to further the understanding of social problems in these cities. The methodological analysis is based on the integration of historical and system methods as well as scientific research and investigation conducted in Spain. Regarding some integration and inclusion efforts there are still unsolved social and economic problems that may have infl uence on the coexistence of different ethnocultural communities in the future.

But, contrary to popular belief, its electoral success is only partly due to its Eurosceptic program. Its growing support is rather the result of disappointment in policies of the main parties and a sense of alienation of a growing social group, failing to find its way in a liberal, multicultural society. Note, however, that the UK electoral system rewards parties that have geographically concentrated support, yet in case of UKIP it is distributed fairly evenly. For this reason, even a significant popular support will translate only in a small degree into the seats in the House of Commons. UKIP electoral successes has forced the major political parties to modify their policies, which manifested mainly in radicalization of their programs in the area of immigration and asylum policy, as well as their attitude towards the UK's membership in the European Union.

The world of the beginning of the 21st century was shocked by dramatic and very tragic terrorist attacks. On September 11, 2001, the WTC towers in New York collapsed. Three years later, bombs exploded in Madrid and then in London. Years 2015-2016 were marked by a series of attacks in Europe. Each subsequent incident brought a change in the sense of threat to terrorism in the communities of all European countries. The radicalization of human views and attitudes regarding ways to combat terrorism has become noticeable. This also translated into the perception of others – foreign nations in each country. Taking the fight against terrorism, individual countries introduced law changes. On the one hand it's giving new and powerful opportunities for security services, on the other hand, significantly limiting civil rights and freedoms. ; Światem początku XXI w. wstrząsnęły dramatyczne i jakże tragiczne w skutkach zamachy terrorystyczne. 11 września 2001 r. runęły wieże WTC w Nowym Jorku. Trzy lata później bomby wybuchły w Madrycie, a następnie w Londynie. Lata 2015–2016 to cała seria zamachów w Europie. Każdy kolejny incydent niósł za sobą zmianę w poczuciu zagrożenia terroryzmem we wszystkich państwach europejskich. Zauważalna stała się radykalizacja poglądów i postaw ludzkich co do sposobów walki z terroryzmem. Przełożyło się to także na postrzeganie innych, obcych nacji w poszczególnych państwach. Podejmując walkę z terroryzmem poszczególne państwa po kolei wprowadzały zmiany prawa, z jednej strony dające nowe, duże możliwości działania służbom odpowiedzialnym za bezpieczeństwo, z drugiej zaś w dużym stopniu ograniczające prawa i wolności obywatelskie.
Over the last decade there has been a clear increase in extreme political rhetoric in the parliamentary debate in Poland. One aspect of the progressive radicalization of the language is overuse of words having a high negative emotional intensity to describe events in everyday politics, which leads to the degradation of their importance. As research shows, brutalization of the language of the debate has negative consequences at the levels of the political elite and the electorate, leading to reduced efficiency of the parliament, the exacerbation of conflicts between parties and among their supporters, and the political alienation of citizens. In this article, I present the possibilities of using the transcripts of parliamentary discourse to analyze the changes of the political discourse, including the algorithms used for searching text corpora and analysis of the latent topics. As an example, I use a set of parliamentary speeches from the years 1991-2016 related to the idea of shame, betrayal, disgrace and scandal. I base my analyses on generative topic modeling employing on the method of latent Dirichlet allocation and its extension—Structural Topic Model, both being unsupervised methods of extracting topics from large text corpora. The results of the analysis confirm the increase in usage of radical vocabulary in time, and also describe the characteristics of its users and the most common contexts the extreme vocabulary tend to appear (identity politics, control over the media, foreign policy). ; W ciągu ostatniego dziesięciolecia nastąpił wyraźny wzrost obecności skrajnej retoryki politycznej w debacie parlamentarnej w Polsce. Jednym z aspektów postępującej radykalizacji języka jest nadużywanie słów o wysokim negatywnym natężeniu emocjonalnym w celu opisania zdarzeń występujących w codziennej polityce, co prowadzi do degradacji ich znaczenia. Jak wskazują badania, brutalizacja języka debaty wywołuje negatywne konsekwencje na poziomie elit politycznych i elektoratu, prowadząc do zmniejszonej efektywności działania parlamentu, zaostrzenia konfliktów między partiami i ich zwolennikami oraz do alienacji politycznej obywateli. W artykule przedstawiam możliwości wykorzystania stenogramów parlamentarnych do analizy przemian dyskursu politycznego, w tym wykorzystane algorytmy przeszukiwania korpusów tekstów oraz analizy ukrytych tematów. Jako przykład wykorzystuję zbiór przemówień sejmowych z lat 1991‒2016 odnoszących się do idei hańby, zdrady, niesławy i skandalu. Opieram się głównie na generatywnym modelu tematycznym, wykorzystującym metodę ukrytej alokacji Dirichleta i jej rozszerzeniu – strukturalny model tematyczny, będących nienadzorowanymi metodami ekstrakcji tematów z dużych korpusów tekstów. Wyniki przeprowadzonych analiz potwierdzają wzrost radykalnego słownictwa w czasie, a także określają charakterystyki jego użytkowników oraz najczęściej występujące konteksty (polityka historyczna, kontrola nad mediami, polityka zagraniczna).
