L'objectif de cet article est l'élaboration d'un modèle visant à déterminer les variables susceptibles d'influencer la fonction de popularité des partis de la gauche communiste et de la droite populiste en France. Le cas français est particulièrement intéressant, puisque ces courants ont une visibilité et un poids électoral très forts. L'originalité de ce travail consiste en l'introduction de variables en dehors du champ politico-économique. Nous utilisons des données subjectives (« confiance des ménages ») et des variables sécuritaires (« atteintes aux biens »). Les résultats sont très significatifs pour ces variables à la fois sur le long que sur le court terme. / The aim of this article is to build a model to determine the variables which influence the popularity function of right populist parties and left communism parties in France. The French case is very interesting because of the electoral weight of these parties. The originality of this work consists in the introduction of variables out of the political-economic space. We use subjective data (« Household confidence ») and security variables (« Damages to goods »). In the mid-twenties, France was achieving its reconstruction, both economical and political. In 1924, and for the first time since the beginning of the century, the general election took place in a context of a clear bipolarization between left and right, which had a structuring effect on French political field. The victory of the Cartel des gauches at this election appears as a political break-point, that the historiography about political life during interwar years has rather neglected since Jean-Noël Jeanneney's studies upon Cartel des gauches in the seventies. The organizations of the right-wing learnt a few important lessons from this period when they were in the parliamentary opposition. The most important one was that the political majority coming out democratic election could be changed in the middle of the parliamentary legislature. Indeed, in July 1926, weakened by the growing divisions between radicals and socialists incapable of giving an answer to the increasing financial and monetary crisis, the cartellist majority fell definitely. Raymond Poincaré, the main opponent of the left in 1924, came back to the Council presidency, leading a new parliamentary majority of national union. When the right had been defeated again in 1932 and 1936, it remembered this precedent. Another lesson was that the various social and political mobilizations against the Cartel des gauches had played a significant role to weaken the socialist and radical majority. The community movements, such as catholic or professional ones, and the political organizations mobilized in this period, built a culture and abilities of being in political opposition, that they have reactivated later during the interwar years. Les élections de 1924, marquées par la victoire du Cartel des gauches face au Bloc national, apparaissent comme une césure politique, largement négligée par l'historiographie de l'entre-deux-guerres depuis les travaux de Jean-Noël Jeanneney sur le Cartel des gauches dans les années 1970. De leur passage dans l'opposition en 1924-1926, les droites françaises tirèrent un certain nombre de leçons. La principale était que le verdict des urnes pouvait être renversé en cours de législature : en juillet 1926, la majorité cartelliste, affaiblie par les contradictions entre socialistes et radicaux face à une crise financière et monétaire qui s'aggravait, laissa définitivement place à une majorité d'union nationale, réunie sous l'autorité du principal adversaire des gauches lors de la campagne de 1924, Raymond Poincaré. Pour les droites de nouveau vaincues en 1932 et en 1936, c'était un précédent à retenir. Autre leçon, les mobilisations anticartellistes, dans leur diversité, au sein du champ politique ou du champ social, avaient contribué à affaiblir la majorité radicale et socialiste : l'action militante, politique et sociale, avait une capacité d'influence non négligeable au sein du régime parlementaire de la Troisième République. De 1924 à 1926, les organisations anticartellistes politiques ou associatives, à l'instar de celles entendant représenter les intérêts des catholiques ou des commerçants et artisans, développèrent une culture et des pratiques politiques d'opposition, qu'elles firent rejouer tout au long de l'entre-deux-guerres. Cette expérience démontra également la persistance, dans l'opposition, des divisions structurelles du champ politique des droites, en raison du maintien de clivages tant doctrinaux (sur la laïcité, la politique étrangère ou le parlementarisme), que stratégiques (attitude d'intransigeance ou de conciliation vis-à-vis des radicaux). Dans leur ensemble, ces divisions, mais aussi les débats et les pratiques politiques qui s'épanouirent pendant ces deux années, perdurèrent jusqu'au milieu des années Trente.

The 1974 presidential election was an opportunity for a redistribution of electorate within the right. The Gaullism's leadership in the conservative bloc since 1962 has succeeded the coalition of the moderate right and the centre. Mr J. Chaban-Delmas, apart from a regional and personal electorate, appears to retain only the core of the 1973 Gaullism. On the other hand, Mr V. Giscard d'Estaing bases his success on the fact that most of the voters of the majority, almost all those in the centre and, finally, a fraction of the socialist voters in 1973. ; L'élection présidentielle de 1974 a été l'occasion d'une redistribution des électorats au sein de la droite. Au leadership que, depuis 1962, le gaullisme exerçait sur le bloc conservateur a succédé celui de la coalition de la droite modérée et du centre. M. J. Chaban-Delmas, en dehors d'un électorat régional et personnel, ne paraît conserver que le noyau dur du gaullisme de 1973. En revanche, M. V. Giscard d'Estaing fonde son succès sur la réunion de la plus grande partie des électeurs de la majorité, de la presque totalité de ceux du centre et enfin d'une frange des électeurs socialistes de 1973.

The thesis shows the evolution of luxembourg right wing extremism in the course of the twentieth century. It analizes the different models in the trend of thinking of right wing extremism and the foreign influences they were subject to. - the model of the catholic integrists aiming at establishing an ideological and political hegemony of the church and to christianize all domains of society in order to put an end to pluralism. - the model of all-embracing nationalism of the "luxembourg national union" strongly influenced by Barrès and Maurras. - the national-populist model of Leon Müller who takes his inspiration from Leon Degrelle. - the national-socialist model expressing itself in various organizations of the thirties and the members of which collaborate with the nazi occupants. The thesis describes the ideology of the right wing movements of the eighties and the nineties, their impact, the programmatical continuity and discontinuity with the programm of the extreme right wing organizations of the past ; La thèse montre l'évolution de l'extrême-droite luxembourgeoise au cours du vingtième siècle. The French-speaking right wing in Belgium has always granted a paramount place to France in its ideological cosmography. The concept of everlasting France, of her "mission", of the part she could play on the international scene are topics wondered about constantly in intellectual and middle-class circles. The thirties and mostly the Popular Front era provide the Conservatives with a splendid opportunity to describe the future of their cultural icon with awe: the more the international context is threatening, the more France seems to have become fragile, isolated and going down the slope. Using the news given by the national papers or the widely circulated Parisian press, right-wing Belgians brood, of course, about the eclipse of France's might, but point chiefly to the moral crisis as its cause. Very often they feel some nostalgia for the "Ancien Régime" and see the origin of the worrying current phenomenon in the hated French Revolution. Lot of factors are intertwined in the definition of the moral decay, but some are particularly highlighted. France is accused to be invaded by foreigners (their Jewish origins and Marxist creeds being stressed); Free-Masonry has a bad influence, as well as laic teaching, perverting youth by its pacifist and internationalist leanings. The degeneration of the religious spirit is lamented on account of its influence on the birth rate: the "Elder Daughter of the Church" gets emptier and emptier, whereas the populations of Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany are blooming. Opposition to parliamentary system is to the fore, as the politico-financial scandals, the governmental instability, the disreputable ways of the politicians themselves contribute all to the idea of the moral crisis. A cultural decline is parallel, with a loss of spirituality in the French society, engulfed in materialism and coarseness. Their stinging attacks, their bombastic style show how deeply rooted is the "decay of France" thesis among Belgian Conservatives. Beyond the French case, they fear a possible contamination of Belgium and the disappearance of their own traditional but vanishing values. Their fears and frights have certainly played a part in the 1936 turn-around towards the so-called Belgian "politique d'indépendance" in foreign affairs. ; De tout temps, la droite belge francophone a accordé à la France une place primordiale dans son univers idéologique. Les concepts de France éternelle, de sa « mission », de son rôle sur la scène internationale sont autant de sujets sur lesquels l'opinion bourgeoise et intellectuelle s'interroge de façon récurrente. Les années trente, et surtout l'époque du Front populaire, donnent aux conservateurs plus d'une occasion de se pencher avec anxiété sur l'avenir de leur référent culturel parce que le climat international est menaçant, parce que la France semble fragilisée, isolée, déclinante. Confrontés à l'actualité française à longueur de colonnes de leurs journaux nationaux et par l'intermédiaire d'une presse parisienne très répandue chez eux, les Belges de droite déplorent évidemment l'éclipse de la puissance française mais stigmatisent avant tout la profonde crise morale qu'ils estiment en être la cause. Souvent nostalgiques de l'Ancien Régime, ils voient dans la Révolution abhorrée l'origine de ce phénomène inquiétant. Si de nombreux facteurs se conjuguent dans la définition de cette crise morale, certains sont particulièrement mis en exergue. On dénonce une France envahie par les étrangers, en insistant sur leur origine sémite et leur marxisme. On vilipende l'influence néfaste de la franc-maçonnerie et cet enseignement laïque dont le pacifisme et l'internationalisme pervertissent la jeunesse. On déplore la déliquescence de l'esprit religieux qui se répercute sur la natalité: la « Fille aînée de l'Eglise » se dépeuple tandis que l'Italie fasciste et l'Allemagne nazie jouissent d'une démographie florissante. A l'heure où l'antiparlementarisme est monnaie courante, les scandales politico-financiers, l'instabilité ministérielle, les mœurs des députés elles-mêmes viennent renforcer l'idée d'une crise morale. Enfin, celle-ci se double d'un déclin culturel, d'une perte de substance spirituelle de la société française, embourbée dans le matérialisme et la trivialité. La virulence de leurs attaques, le lyrisme de leur style prouvent combien les conservateurs belges sont persuadés d'une réelle décadence de la France. Derrière chacun de leurs mots perce la peur d'une contamination de la Belgique, l'angoisse d'y voir disparaître des valeurs traditionnelles déjà bien écornées. Nulle shares theo-conservative thinking as well as under the often spic feather of Richard John Neuhaus (1936-2009). This arduous and controversial spirit shifts from left-wing Christian radicalism in the 1960s to the right-wing Christian protest in the 1970s, then from the lutherian faith to the Catholic faith in the 1980s. He began his political life with the civil rights movement and moved to the grassroots struggle in the anti-war movement in Vietnam. Some twenty years later, in 1984, he became with The Naked Public Square: Religion and Democracy in America, the most incisive thinker of the new theo-conservative movement. It is he who, in the United States political debate, demands the idea that religion has been unduly and catastrophically excluded from the public sphere, not so much as a result of a liberal structural change in American public institutions, law and society, but because of the manoeuvres of the 'secularised elites' contaminated by an atheistic and 'imported' modernity, cut off from the People and undermining his will. A confusing personality, he appears marxist in his analysis of captator and monopolistic, republican and jacobin elites in his vision of a sovereign People deprived of his right of religious expression (Christian), a nationalist in his certainty of the (welfare) exception of the United States, populist and revolutionary in his (democratic) call to hunt the fossovers of God and Peuple, leading America to its loss and denying its vocation. Speaking out of authoritarianism, he considered himself deeply democratic. Embracing theocracy, he sees himself as the strongest defender of American freedoms. Renamo was able to evacuate the base but lost part of its archives, including what later became known as the Cadernos de Gorongosa (i.e. the Gorongosa Notebooks). The Mozambican government security services were quick to study them to prove that, despite the Nkomati Accords (1984), South Africa kept on supporting the Mozambican rebellion. The author was able to work through some of these Cadernos, consisting of thousands of handwritten messages—these were decoded transcripts of communications between the commander-in-chief and regional and local guerrilla groups. This makes it possible to study the daily life of this "right-wing guerrilla." The first purpose of this article is to characterise 'populism', 'left-wing populism', 'right-wing populism' and 'populist leaders and their parties', with the understanding that 'populist leaders and their parties' can encompass or reclaim 'populist' ideas from both the right and the left.By means of a spinozist analysis, the second objective is to show that "right-wing populism" can be implemented by a "leader" of a populist party, which can lead to a very authoritarian, if not dictatorial, regime. On the other hand, a 'left-wing populism' cannot be implemented by a 'leader' of a populist party: either this leader and this party rejoins the current democratic game, to the great disappointment of many of its supporters, hoping to promote a 'real left-wing policy', or it remains in an opposition that is in decline if it does not inspire sufficient hope.In light of this difficulty, the third objective of the article is to set out the 'left-wing' premises and constraints and then describe a sustainable set-up and governance so that 'left-wing populism' becomes 'left-wing politics' without too many 'betrayals'. ; Le premier objectif de cet article est de caractériser « populisme », « populisme de gauche », « populisme de droite » et « leader et parti populiste », étant entendu que les « leaders et partis populistes » peuvent embrasser ou récupérer des idées « populistes » de droite comme de gauche.Par une analyse spinoziste, le deuxième objectif est de montrer qu'un « populisme de droite » peut être mis en œuvre par un « leader » d'un parti populiste, mise en œuvre pouvant aboutir à un régime très autoritaire, sinon dictatorial. The first purpose of this article is to characterise 'populism', 'left-wing populism', 'right-wing populism' and 'populist leaders and their parties', with the understanding that 'populist leaders and their parties' can encompass or reclaim 'populist' ideas from both the right and the left.By means of a spinozist analysis, the second objective is to show that "right-wing populism" can be implemented by a "leader" of a populist party, which can lead to a very authoritarian, if not dictatorial, regime. On the other hand, a 'left-wing populism' cannot be implemented by a 'leader' of a populist party: either this leader and this party rejoins the current democratic game, to the great disappointment of many of its supporters, hoping to promote a 'real left-wing policy', or it remains in an opposition that is in decline if it does not inspire sufficient hope.In light of this difficulty, the third objective of the article is to set out the 'left-wing' premises and constraints and then describe a sustainable set-up and governance so that 'left-wing populism' becomes 'left-wing politics' without too many 'betrayals'. ; Le premier objectif de cet article est de caractériser « populisme », « populisme de gauche », « populisme de droite » et « leader et parti populiste », étant entendu que les « leaders et partis populistes » peuvent embrasser ou récupérer des idées « populistes » de droite comme de gauche.Par une analyse spinoziste, le deuxième objectif est de montrer qu'un « populisme de droite » peut être mis en œuvre par un « leader » d'un parti populiste, mise en œuvre pouvant aboutir à un régime très autoritaire, sinon dictatorial. International audience ; In the three main Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Norway and Sweden), populist and extremist right-wing movements gather diversified parties and groups in their form and their claims. They may be characterized by a common ideological basis (patriotism, traditionalism, xenophobia.), but we can also state that the glorification of national history constitutes a recurring element of their political discourse. The figure of the Viking has thus a central place, although its representation and its ideological function may differ from a movement to another. In this paper, we will analyse speeches and publications of these political groups in order to examine the relation between the Viking myth and the definition of a national identity, as well as its different manifestations. ; Dans les trois principaux pays scandinaves (Danemark, Norvège et Suède), les droites extrêmes et populistes rassemblent des partis et des groupes particulièrement diversifiés dans leur forme et leurs revendications. Si l'on y retrouve tout de même une base idéologique commune (patriotisme, traditionalisme, xénophobie.), on remarque également que la glorification de l'histoire nationale constitue un élément récurrent de leur discours politique. La figure du Viking tient ici une place centrale, bien que sa représentation et sa fonction idéologique puissent varier d'un mouvement à un autre. À partir des déclarations et des publications de leurs acteurs, nous tenterons d'examiner la relation entre le mythe viking et la définition d'une identité nationale dans ces courants politiques, ainsi que ses différentes manifestations.
