The question about education, and about which model of education, belongs to society and moves from it, as well as the answer must go back to society again: education to complexity, critical thinking, responsibility for choices are all possible answers. In other words, we comprehend education as active citizenship, and by citizenship we mean a condition based on respect for oneself, respect for the others and the rules of any community. It is a cultural attitude built on values such as civil and political commitment, and an ethical dimension that implies the conviction that without choice and responsibility there can be no authentic social justice; it is a sense of belonging to democracy and democratic practice as well, where we believe democracy to be the result of opposition first, mediation later. This should be the task of the public School system, and to accomplish this task it is necessary to draw on the cultural richness that comes from its pluralism: this can be done by trained teachers, available to comparison, who know how to dismantle and reassemble disciplinary knowledge and soft skills in an epistemologically correct way, in order to meet the diversified learning needs, providing tools for interaction with reality. This kind of School, therefore, must be considered as an ethical place of education and citizenship, which guides change and transformative processes, inspired by new cultural, social, psycho-pedagogical and organizational models: a School which, as a public service, is already part of a pedagogical and political project. ; La domanda sull'educazione, e su quale modello di educazione, appartiene alla società, è mossa dalla società, così come ad essa deve tornare la risposta: educare alla complessità, al pensiero critico, alla responsabilità delle scelte sono le risposte possibili. This work aims at deepening, through a bibliographic review, especially inthe international context, the impact on students of the creation of smallschools. In particular, in the American context, high schools in large urbandistricts, which are afflicted by high drop-out rates, increased violent behavior,low levels of performance and involvement among students, tried to reorganizethemselves into smaller learning communities. Over the last twodecades, this reform has triggered numerous research that dealt with evaluatingthe effects of this change. We will take into account said research inorder to critically reflect on the enhancement of these educational realities,which might be both a starting point and a benchmark for our Italian educationalcontext. ; Il presente lavoro si propone di approfondire, attraverso una rassegna bibliografica,soprattutto in ambito internazionale, l'impatto sugli studentidella creazione di piccole scuole. One of the fundamental aspects of the contemporary educational research is the question the inclusive school referred in particular to the inclusion of the students with disabilities and the role of digital teaching to promote inclusion. This is a complex question which requires analysis, new experiments and, above all, new scientific hybridizations to deeply understand the phenomena. Tis issue is fundamental for an hypothesis which analyzes a better social justice in the democracy. In this article we will try to connect the relationship between inclusive school, digital teaching and Artificial Intelligence. Advances in Artificial Intelligence could represent the birth of a new inclusive educational paradigm for schools. ; Uno degli aspetti fondamentali della ricerca educativa contemporanea è la questione della scuola inclusiva con particolare riferimento alla inclusione degli studenti con disabilità e al ruolo della didattica digitale per favorire l'inclusione. È un tema, questo, particolarmente complesso che necessita sempre di approfondimenti, di nuove sperimentazioni e soprattutto di nuove ibridazioni scientifiche che siano d'aiuto alla comprensione profonda dei fenomeni. Questo tema è fondamentale per una ipotesi che analizzi una migliore giustizia sociale della democrazia. In questo articolo si cercherà di mettere in connessione il rapporto tra scuola inclusiva, didattica digitale e Intelligenza Artificiale. I progressi dell'Intelligenza Artificiale potrebbero rappresentare per la scuola la nascita di un nuovo paradigma educativo inclusivo.

The paper starts from the critique of the concept of sustainable development, moving towards a perspective of social eco-development in line with the democratic demands and Bronfenbrenner's theory of the ecology of human development. The cornerstone of this transformative perspective is an idea of regenerated social justice, which refers to the model of Nussbaum's capability approach to embrace a theoretical framework of Social Justice Education based on the theories and practice of Cochran-Smith. Starting from the concept of recognition and inspired by both a pedagogical and a political approach, a qualitative research was undertaken according to a participatory paradigm guided by the idea of giving voice to the most marginalized social groups. Therefore, this research (which is part of a larger project that covered the entire s.y. 2020/2021) has adopted the Student Voice approach, to listen to the voice of students in conditions of educational risk or school drop-out in the context of second chance popular schools, regarding their representations on education and teaching-and-learning, their experiences and the meanings they attribute to school. Between June and July 2021, at the "Antonia Vita" Popular School in Monza, 8 semi-structured interviews were conducted with students aged between 14 and 17 years old, transcribed literally and then analyzed with the software ATLAS.ti, according to the methodology of socio-constructivist Grounded Theory. This volume collects some of the contributions presented at the Italian session of the International Social Work Education and Development Online (ISWED 2021) conference, jointly organised by the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW), and the International Council of Social Welfare (ICSW) and, for the Italian language sessions, by the National Foundation of Social Workers.
Its aim is to contribute to the debate that was opened with the creation of the Global Agenda, an initiative taken by the three international organisations in the 2010/2020 decade and renewed for the 2020/2030 decade. In particular, the volume offers reflections on the role of social work in promoting human relations, justice and social solidarity, showing how research, training and professional practice can have an impact in translating the goals guiding the Global Agenda into practice.
While the first eight chapters deal specifically with the Italian context and address different themes, such as social work in the face of social emergency, qualitative research as a means of reconstructing social action, perspectives in decision-making processes for the protection of minors, and reciprocity in the exchange between social work and the homeless, the agapic relationship in social work, the production of knowledge in the process of aid, and finally the practices of training in Italian universities, the ninth chapter is dedicated to a historical analysis of social service and training in the State of Espirito Santo in Brazil.

The subject of this essay is social and political liberty, and the nature of the limits that the State and society can be exercised above individuals. With regard to liberty, Dahrendorf carries out two essential operations. First of all, liberty is placed against equality. Then, within a unitary vision of this concept, he shows its fundamental elements, and distinguishes two totally interconnected aspects: the «problematic» concept of liberty and the «assertoric» concept of liberty. According to this hermeneutical hypothesis, i.e. assertoric liberty as a mode of human existence by specific realities behaviour, Dahrendorf defines a form of thinking that is totally separated from the historiography of political liberalism. Furthermore, the principle of social justice is always present in Dahrendorf 's political thought. In this sense, social inclusion is a moral duty, its rational justification is based on a criterion of justice. The process of inclusion of the greatest number of individuals in the sphere of the social contract means adherence to the norms of social coexistence and a condition for the survival of civil society.

Nowadays, education can only partially build democracy and more importantly invest on social distances in the long term whereas new technologies encourage individualism not addressed to personal cultural investment but to unproductive participation. The latter is actually useless in the power relationships, since it produces illusions, considering that it consolidates and exasperates them. It is hard to understand what to pay attention for, therefore true power is the ability to know what to ignore. Finding solutions is not easy because it is like walking through the eye of a needle. It consequently needs to believe in quality education as a bulwark to an uncontrolled development. Here, artificial intelligence can be both an opportunity and an undeniable danger. It requires the possession of the appropriate language to describe and understand the reality in order to put education at the centre of the debate. It is an essential precondition of political and socialstrategies of the XXI century democracy. ; Oggi l'istruzione solo in parte riesce a costruire la democrazia e soprattutto a invertire nel lungo periodo le distanze sociali, mentre le nuove tecnologie incentivano un individualismo che non si traduce nell'investimento culturale su sé stessi ma in una sterile partecipazione che non incide sui rapporti di forza nella società, anzi li consolida e li esaspera, producendo illusioni. L'interrogativo da cui nasce la ricerca riguarda la possibilità di individuare, in controtendenza con la logica neoliberista, strategie per l'affermarsi di una cultura dello sviluppo che sia sostenibile per l'ambiente e rispettosa della dignità delle persone, in grado di valorizzarne le differenze e di farsi carico delle difficoltà che ognuno può incontrare nel corso della propria esistenza. Centrale è il tema del lavoro, aspetto decisivo delle condizioni di appartenenza sociale e di valorizzazione delle risorse umane. Vengono richiamati studi sulla realtà in cui siamo immersi, caratterizzata dal pensiero liberista diventato negli ultimi decenni dominante su scala globale e che ha comportato una concezione delle relazioni sociali basata su di una competitività esasperata e sull'esclusione di chi non sta al passo con le leggi di mercato: le conseguenze drammatiche dell'imbroglio liberista; la riduzione delle persone a consumatori; la fuga dalla comunità ed il rifugio in identità separate; il tempo del rischio, della paura e della separazione fra etica e affari. E gli studi che, in controtendenza, introducono a prospettive di ricerca di uno sviluppo inclusivo e umanizzante: le prospettive della decrescita, del business sociale, di una via cristiana verso un'economia giusta, della valorizzazione delle capacità delle risorse umane. Vengono poi indagati i collegamenti con le esperienze attive nel territorio della città di Bologna che promuovono, attraverso la collaborazione fra istituzioni, organizzazioni intermedie e cittadini, occasioni di un welfare comunitario che sviluppa competenze e diritti insieme a responsabilità: l'introduzione delle clausole sociali negli appalti pubblici per la realizzazione professionale delle persone svantaggiate; la promozione della responsabilità sociale d'impresa per l'inclusione socio-lavorativa; la valorizzazione delle risorse delle persone che vivono un'esperienza carceraria. Si tratta di esperienze ancora limitate, ma possono costituire un riferimento culturale e operativo di un modello di sviluppo possibile, che convenga a tutti, compatibile con i limiti ambientali e umanizzante. ; This research came from the issue of how to identify suitable strategies for the affirmation of a development culture sustainable for the environment and respectful of a person's dignity, strategies that are in contrast with neoliberal logic and instead are able to value differences and take charge of the problems people face during their lives. The central theme is work, an aspect that is decisive for the conditions of social belonging and the value of human resources. This research takes into account the studies about the reality we are immersed in, a reality characterized by the liberal thought dominant at a global scale in recent decades leading to a conception of social relationships based on an exasperated competitiveness and exclusion of anyone not in line with the laws of the market: the dramatic consequences of the liberal swindle; reducing people to consumers; the escape from the community and refuge in separate identities; the era of risk, fear and separation between ethics and business. In contrast, this research also takes into account studies from a research prospective that introduce an inclusive and humanizing development: the prospects of decline; social business; a Christian path towards a just economy; the promotion of the capacity of human resources. This research then examines the connections with the ongoing experiences in the territory of Bologna that promote opportunities for a community welfare through a collaboration between institutions, intermediary organizations and citizens: the introduction of social clauses in public contracts for the professional fulfilment of the disadvantaged; the promotion of corporate social responsibility for social-labour inclusion; the resource value of people living through a prison experience. Although these are limited experiences, they can constitute a cultural and operative reference point for a possible developmental model that can suit everyone and remain compatible with humanizing and environmental limits.

State sovereignty is meant to enhance nationalism conceived as a way of fostering pre-modern values. This article deepens a different understanding of sovereignty, linked to democratic participation in the political as well as in the economic order. Such an understanding is developed as a reaction to the neoliberal essence of the European Union, unable to ensure social justice as a prerequisite of peace.
