As a descendant of the Enlightenment, the school is still a vital modern institution, albeit in contemporary postmodern conditions. This article takes a Foucaultian perspective to analyse the power/ knowledge and the regimes of truth involved. The arguments is that the power of the school comes from the inertial force of custom, which normalises the school's disciplinary, sanctionary, instructional, and corrective practices. The modern educational project uses disciplinary methods that promote autoidiscipline and autoregulation. Its instructional processes promote individualist learning, and its rituals turn habituation into internalisation. Consistent with the critical sentiments of a Social Psychology of Education, we propose a comprehensive approach to education and its links to acculturation, instruction, and schooling. We use a critical radical pedagogy and poststructuralist analysis to argue for the need to rethink contemporary education.

Este trabajo presenta algunas cuestiones importantes desde la psicología social para la explicación de la violencia política; entre ellas, se destaca la importancia de los grupos humanos como actores principales del conflicto intergrupal y las creencias grupales como elemento central de análisis en la legitimación de la violencia política. El planteamiento pretende dilucidar la necesidad que tienen los grupos armados de realizar construcciones ideológicas con el propósito de justificar sus propias acciones.Palabras clave: Legitimación, Violencia política, Conflicto intergrupal, Creencias. ; This work presents some important questions from Social Psychology for the explanation of the political violence. Among them one stands out the group importance of the human groups like film stars of the intergroup conflict and beliefs like central element of analysis in the legitimation of the political violence. The exposition tries to explain the necessity that has the armed groups to make ideological constructions in order to justify their own actions. El artículo se detiene en el análisis que hace Laclau de los primeros cultivadores de la psicología social. La nueva disciplina alcanza su pleno desarrollo con la obra de Freud Massenpsychologie und Ich-Analyse. Este texto permite explicar la regresión hacia modalidades despóticas de gobierno que sufre la sociedad de masas durante el periodo de entreguerras, como supieron expresar algunos artistas alemanes de la época. Laclau señala, no obstante, que el libro de Freud también alude al elemento clave del populismo democrático: la identificación mutua entre el líder populista y los gobernados. Finalmente señalamos las afinidades de este pensamiento con la democracia schmittiana y los problemas que esto conlleva ; This paper focuses on Laclau's analysis of the first cultivators of social psychology. This new discipline reached full development with Freud's work Massenpsychologie und Ich-Analyse. His text explains the regression to despotic forms of government suffered by mass society in the inter-war period, as some German artists of the time were able to depict. However, Laclau points out that Freud's book also refers to the key element of democratic populism: mutual identification between the populist leader and those governed. El artículo se detiene en el análisis que hace Laclau de los primeros cultivadores de la psicología social. La nueva disciplina alcanza su pleno desarrollo con la obra de Freud Massenpsychologie und Ich-Analyse. The contributions that the Frankfurt School offers to Psychology are varied. Specifically, its most eloquent problem was that of being able to discern the characteristics that make individuals authoritarian and violent people. The concern of the Frankfurt writers centers on their own historical situations: the advent of totalitarian governments in Europe causes members to migrate to various countries. Max Horkheimer migrates to the United States where he begins to work on a second stage of his thinking, substantially aimed at reviewing categories used during the 1930s as well as investigating the problem of social violence. His essay writing often hinders theoretical apprehension as a unit, but a search for his transversal concepts allows us to understand his critical conception of society.I propose to outline the fundamental categories of analysis on what I call his Political Social Psychology in order to arrive at a general vision of what Psychology should be for him and what its role should be within Critical Theory. ; Son variados los aportes que la Escuela de Frankfurt le ofrece a la Psicología. Específicamente su problemática más elocuente fue la de poder discernir las características que hacen a los individuos personas autoritarias y violentas. La preocupación de los autores frankfurtianos se centra en sus propias situaciones históricas: el advenimiento de los gobiernos totalitarios en Europa hace que los integrantes migren hacia diversos países. This article tries to articulate certain drifts in 'social psychology of science' with different contributions from 'feminist studies of science.' This is done in a reflexive aim in order to analyze how gender structures intersect the practices of psychological knowledge production. In this process sexual subjects and objects of psychological knowledge are constructed. It is also stressed, the relevance given in feminist epistemologies to the analysis of subjectivities conformation in the production of science. As well as, to the role of diverse subject-knowledge-positions and its necessary democratic inclusion for a more objective and social fair science-psychology.

Science has been adopted as an object of study by various other disciplines, among them psychology. Approaches to the 'psychology of science' can be grouped as (1) works based principally on the study of the personal characteristics of scientists in terms of types of reasoning, personality, or special capacities such as creativity that differentiate them from non-scientists; & (2) those focused more on the cognitive aspects of science, such as philosophers, epistemologists, & cognitive psychologists or scientists sharing their interests. Areas of interest include processes of normalization in science, normative aspects in processes of publication, processes of social influence & social comparison, values & beliefs in science, belief systems, science & ideology, ethics in the production of scientific knowledge, organizational context of scientific research, & science-society relations. Prominent authors & their works in these & other areas are referenced.

Este artículo desarrolla un punto de vista materialista en el terreno de los debates epistemológicos introducidos en la psicología y en la psicología social por el Construccionismo Social (no es posible pensar hoy sobre la epistemología en este campo sin pasar por sus aportaciones). Para ello se expone, en primer lugar, las interrogaciones críticas más relevantes introducidas por esta perspectiva. Después se dialogará con ellas al mostrar una propuesta a partir de algunos puntos de tensión con el Construccionismo Social. Finalmente, a modo de conclusión, se destacan las implicaciones éticas y políticas sobre los dos elementos planteados —sujeto-agente y objetividad situada. ; In this paper we develop a material point of view in terms of epistemological debates introduced in psychology and in social psychology by social constructionism (it's impossible today think about epistemology without going through their contributions). First, we show the most relevant critical questions done by this prospect. After we show our proposal on some points of tension with the social constructionism. Finally we emphasize the ethical and political implications of our materialistic point of view.

In this work, I present discussions about four themes which I consider to be important to understand the contemporary as some possibilities for research and interventions in social psychology: 1) the city and its relationships whith subjectivity and singular ity processes; 2) the city as support for aesthetic inscriptions; 3) the tensions between the ways of subjectivity and resistances engendered in this contexture; 4) aesthetic workshops as possibilities of social psychology to intervening in the ways of young people to see and participate in the city. The interlacing of these themes is based on fragments collected from contexts, situations and diverse conditions: images of aesthetic interventions in the city and artworks that have the city as theme; informat ion about a research intervention project in social psychology with young people whose goal was to modify their relationships with the city.

Within the framework of the IV Forum of Psychology and Contemporaneity and II Forum on Social Psychology and Post-conflict, organized at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana -with headquarters in Palmira, it was held a work of theoretical research on the impacts of the conflict and post-conflict, from political, educational, and mental health fields, and the demobilization in Colombia. This review establishes criteria to suppose that post-conflict seeks the generation of strategies for the construction of a democratic society that manages to establish a balance between the civilian population and the State, in order to retrieve the participation of each of the citizens, concerning, humanitarian dynamics, as well as, in the recovery of the social relations, on which is built the scaffolding of a solidarity action and peaceful country. With all this, is to leave the question open: Is Colombia really in a post-conflict State? © Revista Colombiana de Ciencias Sociales. ; En el marco del IV Foro de Psicología y Contemporaneidad y II Foro en Psicología Social y Posconflicto, organizado en la Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana – seccional Palmira, se realizó un trabajo de indagación teórica sobre los impactos del conflicto y posconflicto, desde los ámbitos político, educativo, la salud mental y la desmovilización en Colombia. Esta revisión establece criterios para suponer que el posconflicto busca la generación de estrategias para la construcción de una sociedad democrática que logre instaurar un equilibrio entre la población civil y el Estado, con el fin de recuperar la participación de cada uno de los ciudadanos tanto en dinámicas humanitarias, como en la recuperación de las relaciones sociales, sobre las cuales se edifica el andamiaje de un país con acción solidaria y en paz. This article presents a literature review with the aim of analyzing the compatibility between the principles of the Theater of the Oppressed and the paradigm of social intervention in Community Social Psychology. The research consists of a comparative analysis of the political and technical proposals of both and identifies some psychosocial processes that the TO promotes among the groups that it works with. The study revealed that the TO, as an community theater, offers practical strategies to activate psychosocial processes that have been investigated by CSP, such as the exercise of power, problematization, dishabituation, awareness raising and disnaturalization, among others. These are exercised using body language and experimenting reality in the scene, thus reaching the aim of CSP. ; El artículo presenta una revisión teórica que tiene por objeto analizar la compatibilidad de los fundamentos del Teatro del Oprimido con el paradigma de la intervención social en Psicología Social Comunitaria. La investigación consiste en un análisis comparativo entre las propuestas políticas y técnicas de los mismos e identifica algunos procesos psicosociales que la práctica del Teatro del Oprimido promueve en los grupos con los que trabaja. El estudio reveló que el Teatro del Oprimido, como teatro comunitario, ofrece estrategias prácticas para activar procesos psicosociales que han sido investigados por la Psicología Social Comunitaria, tales como el ejercicio del poder, la problematización, la deshabituación, la concientización y la desnaturalización, entre otros. Estos se ejercitan desde el lenguaje corporal y la experimentación de la realidad en escena, cumpliendo con los objetivos principales de la Psicología Social Comunitaria.

En este artículo se presenta una definición de psicología crítica señalando los aspectos que le otorgan esta condición. La presencia de esas características en la psicología social latinoamericana es analizada por medio de ejemplos tomados de la producción contemporánea en esa parte del continente (desde finales de los ochenta hasta la década actual). Específicamente, se analizan trabajos de psicología social comunitaria y psicología política que abordan la identidad, el poder y su forma de usarlo, la exclusión y la legitimidad social de ambas áreas de investigación y acción, así como el efecto de la crítica y la autocrítica en la construcción de teoría. También se discuten aspectos relacionados con la complejidad y las diferentes maneras de enfocar los problemas psicosociales.

Why are we racists? Nowadays, most people will answer they are not racists; and that is possible, at least consciously or intentionally. During the past few years research in social psychology has shown that racism is no longer expressed in a frontal or explicit manner. Today racism is latent, more subtle, has changed and adapted to social control, hidden under new forms of linguistic expressions, beliefs and attitudes. In the era of the "politically correct", racism is sanctioned, and for that reason it moulds without confrontations. This is what social psychologists call the new racism. ; ¿Por qué somos racistas? En la actualidad, la amplia mayoría de la gente responderá que no es racista. Y es posible que no lo sea, al menos, conciente o voluntariamente. Durante los últimos años, la Psicología Social ha estado investigando que el racismo ya no se expresa de manera frontal, explícita. El racismo de hoy es encubierto, latente, ha cambiado y se ha adaptado al control social, se oculta bajo nuevas formas de expresión lingüística, creencias y actitudes. En la era de lo políticamente correcto, el racismo se sanciona, por ello se amolda y continúa presente sin ser confrontativo. Esto es lo que los psicólogos sociales han dado en llamar el nuevo racismo.

The thesis presented affirms that Social Psychology appears in Mexico as the result of a mix between a genuine cultural product & a new element on the academic horizon of the last twenty years of the XIX century. The place where the mixture is done features the public expression forms: press, literature, political cartoon, etc. in a time when all this gaps were full of disputes about the important social topics. In this context the project of Salvador Quevedo y Zubieta appears as an example of genuine Mexican Social Psychology in early 1906. The thesis concludes with a few doubts that question the paradigmatic form of Social Psychology, as this has been in practice in Mexico for a bit more than a century.
