Ausgehend von den gesellschaftlichen Rahmenbedingungen der seit 1979 von Großbritannien unabhängigen Insel stellen die Verfasser des Handbuchartikels zunächst Entwicklung und Entstehung der Gewerkschaften dar. Im weiteren werden deren Größe und Struktur erläutert sowie das Verhältnis von Gewerkschaften und Parteien beschrieben. Das Hauptgewicht der gewerkschaftlichen Tätigkeit in St. Lucia liegt nach Ansicht des Autors auf dem Gebiet der Tarifvertragspolitik. Ergänzt wird die inhaltliche Darstellung durch Tabellen, Literaturhinweise und die Anschrift des Gewerkschaftsbundes. (KS)
