The publicist, Matthieu de Morgues, 1582-1670, here replies to pamphlets which asserted there was a conspiracy afoot in Europe to help the Huguenots. These pamphlets seemed to vest the Church with the right to control the temporal power of Kings. At this time Matthieu de Morgues was one of Richelieu's propoganists. Later in 1626, however, he quarrelled with Richelieu and was to become one of Richelieu's bitterest enemies. ; Electronic reproduction ; 32 p. ; 16 cm.
