For ages writing on the walls –graffiti– has been interpreted as a form of vandalism and even iconoclasm, but modern graffiti, as it emerged in the late 1960s in Philadelphia, has come to be considered an art form. Several years after the ´60s, mainly in the peripheral districts of New York, emerging hip hop culture combined with graffiti and resulted in original street art, which spread worldwide, and configured an urban practice well known in Europe by the 1990s. Under the moniker "Banksy", this anonymous British artist has revolutionized the way street art is interpreted, as not only artistic practice but also urban political intervention. Ironically, he is probably the most famous street artist, though his identity is hidden behind a hood and mask. By analyzing Banksy's fake-documentary film Exit Through the Gift Shop (2010) and the so-called "Bemusement Park" Dismaland (2015) Banksy's first attempt to curate a collective exhibition, this article posits that despite their differences in format, they share a common goal. In the age of neo-liberalism and postmodernist societies, both pieces challenge the very core of visual culture by questioning ideas of originality and authenticity

The aim of this paper is to analyze the figure of the artist at the beginning of the 20th century trough the texts and the thought of the Italian poet Filippo Tomasso Marinetti. Based his ideas on the decadent movement, Marinetti creates a model of artist in which the concepts of genius and artistic freedom, linked to Romanticism, have a great influence. Bur he also adds new elements with a strong relevance for the social and politic circumstances. Among them, they were those that connected the futurist artist to the politic of his time, to the fascism and to the ways of communication with the big multitudes, that were getting increasingly important. Obsessed with the idea of progress, Marinetti aspired to create a new artist capable of generate a new world that inserted definitively Italy into the modernity.

Chronics of the exhibition: "Artists and photographers. Pictures for a collection'. Madrid, Contemporary Art Museum, 8 May — 28 September 2008. Photography collectionism began to become widespread among Spanish contemporary art museums. In most of them, in fact, this collector phenomenon starts from the last decade of the last century or, at best and without generalisation, from its thresholds in the late 1980s. In Madrid, decided bets through fairs such as Arco since 1997 or the creation, a year later, of international festivals such as PhotoEspaña were significant signs of the momentum and dynamism that since then began to acquire photography among professional circles, collectionism and the general public. The development of the environment over the last few decades has also coincided in our country with an exciting and specific process of shaping contemporary art collections, looking for their uniqueness and opening up to a wide range of proposals. Creatively, they were also the moments of rebuilding figure, poetry and imagination, which were accompanied by the stimulating and twofold emergence in the world of photography and the arts, both of technological and digital means, which began to broaden the possibilities and democratise the use of the image, and by the practice of mixed techniques and hybridisation, which transformed the photographic medium into a powerful creative process that joined the other arts; so the photograph became the flagship instrument of post-modernity. It is in this context that, since its creation in 2001, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid, which has formed its collection during this time, has been short but intense. With it, the young school has shown a particular sensitivity not only to the urban and Madrid viewpoints, but also to the new developments and behaviours of the photographic environment; as is supported by its various purchases and betting on photography and its use in mixed techniques, and the museum itself has made the public visible in the parallel ...

; [EN]This article analyses in depth the artistic and political career of the painter and draftsman Augusto Fernández Sastre, since his first steps in the art world until his arrival to exile in Latin America. His paintings, drawings, political posters and book il-lustrations, his contacts with avant-garde, his role in the radio and the fact that he was a mason and a socialist militant, as well, justify the interest of the analysis of this trajec-tory. Therefore, this paper recovers the figure of the forgotten artist Augusto Fernández, a complex character that had much to do with the development of the cultural Spanish life of the beginning of the 20th century. ; P.N. de I+D+i, ref. This article revises the social trajectory of artist Marcelo Pombo, a major representative of Argentina's esthetic revitalization in the post-dictatorship period. His case is considered a paradigm of a type of artist who, with no intellectual or economic capital, manages to break into the artistic scene in those early years of democracy armed with plebeian esthetic universes that confronted the usual legitimated styles. By analyzing the different stages of his itinerary – family origins, education, work history, personal relationships and, most fundamentally, his homosexual experience and subsequent participation in gay activism – I attempt to explain the social basis for a dissident artistic strategy whose core trait is a plea for lost autonomy ; O artigo revisa a trajetória social do artista Marcelo Pombo, referência na renovação estética na Argentina pós-ditadura. ; The first public Spanish museums appeared during Peninsular War, since then other institutions were founded: The Royal Museum of Prado and National Museum of Trinidad. Others projects were only developed in documents. This was the case of Nacional Historical Museum of Contemporary Artists. This was a space designed by a group of artists that belonged to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in 1847. The analysis of this plan from an artistic and social point of view cast doubt on the hierarchy perspective, main argument in museology which explains that authority figures of monarchy and government were the unique motor in the development of cultural institutions. Also, this perspective allows to study the formation of cultural sphere with the incorporation of artistic world —agents, practices and preferences— and the analysis of the artistic and politic groups of power.
