"This chapter offers insights into the regulation of both political campaign communication and the regulation of media structures and content across the globe. The author first discusses conflicts between media regulation and media freedom as well as different possibilities for the regulation of media structure, infrastructure and content that are aimed at securing the surrounding conditions for democratic political communication. Then, the chapter reflects on the rationales for regulating campaigns before providing an overview of existing regulation in countries worldwide. Specifically, limits on contributions and expenditures, transparency requirements, public subsidies and other restrictions are touched upon. In the final section, the author draws several conclusions and examines the delicate influence of political actors and media organizations on the regulatory measures that directly affect themselves." This article deals with challenges of vocational guidance of pupils under conditions of modern requirements. The author analyzes some factors that have an impact on professional self-determination of the younger generation. There is a strong need to develop individual abilities of students and match the level of secondary education and achievements of scientific and technical progress. More than that, an expansion of differentiated instruction and a development of a network of specialized schools and classes with in-depth study of various subjects are required for the modern educational system. As the result of the research, the author proposes to intensify the work with young people to identify their real interests and abilities. Also, this work should form a belief in the right career choice that meets their personal inclinations and needs of society as a whole.

"This chapter discusses research on different kinds of media frames in political coverage which have been shown to significantly affect how politics is perceived and understood by citizens. After defining issue/ policy substance, strategic game, thematic, and episodic framing as key features of the portrayal of politics in today's media coverage, the chapter discusses various reasons why these frames are so commonly used in journalism, After that, the chapter reviews empirical research on the development of the presence of the different frames across time. Furthermore, differences between countries and news organizations are discussed. The author argues that although research shows that the various frames are indeed an important ingredient of political coverage, general conclusions are hampered by differences in operationalizations and the lack of comparative research efforts. The author therefore calls for more standardized investigations and truly comparative studies on this important topic." (publisher's description)

"This chapter examines literature on the factors which explain the different levels of attention lavished on political events by the news media. The chapter first identifies several typologies and conceptualizations of events. The author argues that the amount of media attention is not determined by the significance of an event alone but rather by an interplay of criteria both internal and external to the news media (e.g., journalistic co-orientation). Furthermore, the chapter reflects upon how the news media sometimes link similar but unrelated events creating a media-hype or news wave that sometimes has important political consequences. This amplification of coverage happens in a series of stages that are discussed in detail in the remaining part of the chapter." (publisher's description)
