This will enable to succeed in permanently generating innovative and competitive products and services. For the promotion of outstanding achievements in the private enterprise so called centers of excellence (i.e. departments or companies in which outstanding achievements are accomplished) proved of value. Their organizational culture is in particular characterized by a high demand of performance combined with appreciation, possibilities of self-development, and high-quality leadership. [The authors] point out what extent educational institutions as well as other public institutions can at this adopt from companies. In [their] opinion centers of excellence should be extensively implemented in social and commercial organizations. (DIPF/Orig.).
