This book is the outcome of an inquiry carried out in 1987 in the Gambia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, the Philippines and Zimbabwe. The purpose was to obtain information about disabled people who are in business on their own account and to show how they have managed. The core of the book presents 16 case studies of disabled entrepreneurs chosen from the 53 businesses studied during the inquiry
