The Impact of Patriarchy on Women's Political Participation in Iran
This study focuses on one aspect of culture, namely, patriarchy. Attempts will then be political participation in Iran, which begins in the family, and how it (patriarchy) infiltrates into other sectors of society like, education, mass media, the economy and politics. At the end, patriarchal practices which lead to the impact on women participation by males will be highlighted. The main argument in this study is the impact of patriarchy on women's political participation that lead to gender inequalities of women to the extent that females believes the spheres of politics is not proper for women participation in politic. The presence of the social view and the cultural narrow insight which is based on false beliefs and some unpleasant historical and traditional habits, as well as patriarchy create obstacles for extensive, prevalent participation of women in different levels of society which consequently lead to their seclusion.
