The pros­pect of the United King­dom leav­ing the Euro­pean Union (EU) in 2019 casts a sha­dow on the al­ready un­stable peace in Northern Ireland, the British ex­clave in the north­east of the island of Ireland. This report out­lines the app­roach, frame­work cond­itions and course of the Northern Irish peace process - as well as the signs of its im­pending col­lapse. It also out­lines the challenges that a "Brexit" poses for continued peace­ful relations in Northern Ireland.

"In Fragen der Rüstungsexportpolitik konkurrieren die Interessen von Außenwirtschaft, Rüstungsindustrie und Sicherheitspolitik. Damit korrespondieren verzweigte Zuständig- und Verantwortlichkeiten verschiedener Regierungsressorts. Eine stringente Rüstungsexportpolitik ist angesichts dieses Wirrwarrs kaum durchzusetzen. Der Autor zeigt anhand der Regierungserklärungen und Koalitionsverträge seit 1998, wie die Regierungen bzw. Regierungskoalitionen immer wieder klaren Positionierungen ausgewichen sind. Deutlich wird, wie wichtig es wäre, die Rüstungsexportpolitik von rüstungs- und außenwirtschaftlichen Konnotationen zu befreien und statt dessen klar zu benennen, was mit Rüstungsgeschäften außen und sicherheitspolitisch erreicht werden soll."
