The aim of this article is to present and popularise information regarding the current state of research on the presence and activity of the members of the Society of Jesus in the Tsarist state between 1772 and 1802. A synthetic analysis of the complex issue of official educational activities provided by the Catholic Order in the Orthodox Russian Empire is based on a comparative analysis of the existing subject literature and the author's archival research, the results of which have been published in the papers referred to in the article. The first part explains the circumstances that led to the appearance of the Jesuits in Russia and discusses the reasons that allowed these subjects of the Tsar to maintain relative autonomy in managing their Order, ensure its development, and pursue their own goals. The functioning of Jesuit schools in Russia is also discussed in this context. The second part focuses on close relations between the Jesuits and Tsar Paul I, which had a significant impact on the functioning of the Order. Based on, among others, the fragments of the correspondence found in the Roman Archive, the author describes the Tsar's contacts with Father Gruber and analyses their role, significance and results in the political and diplomatic area connected with the Jesuits' activity in Russia. ; Celem artykułu jest prezentacja i upowszechnienie aktualnego stanu badań na temat obecności i działalności członków Towarzystwa Jezusowego w państwie carów w latach 1772–1802. Na podstawie własnych kwerend archiwalnych, których wyniki stanowiły podstawę źródłową przywoływanych w artykule publikacji, a także wykorzystując analizę porównawczą dotychczasowej literatury przedmiotu, autor dokonał syntetycznego omówienia złożonego problemu dotyczącego oficjalnego prowadzenia działalności wychowawczej przez katolicki zakon na terenie prawosławnego cesarstwa rosyjskiego. The nearly universal access to higher education (HE) in developed countries was once praised as a great democratic achievement, and a basis for both economic development and social mobility. After the onset of the 2008 recession, the narratives changed considerably. The most radical critics of HE propose a partial "deschooling" of society by reversing the process of massification. This paper aims to present a critical discourse analysis (CAD) of the "don't go to college" discourse that became popular in Poland and the United States. I trace the differences in the way the decision to go to college is conceptualized in Poland and the U.S to the differences in dominant political ideologies – democratic and egalitarian in the U.S., paternalistic and conservative in Poland. I also show how recent changes in the actual HE systems put those ideologies at odds with the educational realities of both countries. ; Uniwersalizację dostępu do wykształcenia wyższego uznawano za wielkie osiągnięcie krajów demokratycznych, podstawę dla ich rozwoju gospodarczego i społecznej ruchliwości. Ostatnie lata przyniosły jednak znaczą zmianę w treści narracji dotyczących szkół wyższych. Najbardziej radykalne formy krytyki zawierają sugestię, że konieczne jest dokonanie częściowego "odszkolnienia" społeczeństwa przez cofnięcie procesów umasowienia.Celem tego artykułu jest przedstawienie wyników krytycznej analizy dyskursu (KAD) odszkolnienia na podstawie źródeł pochodzących z USA i Polski. Zastosowanie KAD pozwala mi pokazać, jak te, z pozoru podobne, narracje mają u swych podstaw dwie przeciwstawne ideologie polityczne – liberalny indywidualizmu w wypadku USA i konserwatywny paternalizm w Polsce. Wskazuję też, w jaki sposób rzeczywista sytuacja absolwentów szkół wyższych stawia w wątpliwość racjonalność prognoz i planów formułowanych w obu odmianach analizowanego dyskursu.

In De Gaulle's thought, the nation and the state are inextricably linked, and while exercising power as President of the Fifth Republic, he almost obsessively strived for national unity. He fully accepted the Republican system of France and recognized revolutions as an indelible element of the national heritage. De Gaulle was convinced of the country's potential to influence the fate of the world, to firmly defend its national interests, but also to be an advocate of universal values. The essential element of the new system for France proposed by De Gaulle in 1946 was the strengthening of the executive power and the key political position of the president of the Republic. The 1958 Constitution introduced a significant change regarding the election of the president by the electoral college, and de Gaulle's concept of general election of the president was soon implemented.

Since the World War II three Latin American states: Argentina, Brazil, and Chile have been using three different approaches to their higher education policy. Although each of these states declared that higher education was fundamental for their economic, social, and political progress, but due to historical differences these states used different means of supporting access to colleges and universities. The connection between higher education and government policy has been so important because education is considered to be one of the most fundamental human rights. The UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights points out that education is necessary for free development of human personality. ; Po II wojnie światowej trzy kraje Ameryki Łacińskiej: Argentyna, Brazylia i Chile wybrały odmienne rozwiązania w swojej polityce wobec szkolnictwa wyższego. Każdy z tych krajów uznał, że wyższe wykształcenie obywateli jest warunkiem rozwoju ekonomicznego, społecznego i politycznego, ale ze względu na historię zastosowały różne metody wspierania dostępu do wykształcenia. Powiązanie wykształcenia z polityką państwa jest o tyle ważne, że dostęp do uczelni traktowany jest jako realizacja jednego z podstawowych praw człowieka – prawa dostępu do edukacji. Zgodnie z Powszechną Deklaracją Praw Człowieka jest to warunek pełnego rozwoju osoby ludzkiej.

There is no uniform model of employment in Polish legislation. The shape of the employment relationship of an academic employee is strongly influenced by the specific normative relationship that exists between the Labour Code and the Law on Higher Education. It should be noted that the Law on Higher Education is not a sufficient regulation. It regulates, in principle, sufficiently those issues that require, due to its nature, a different than regulatory code. The relations between these two acts are diverse, which results from the construction of Article 5 of the Labour Code. The statutory regulations affect the shape of the employment relationship. Each college as part of its autonomy can regulate various issues, creating many different hybrid work relationship models. ; W polskim ustawodawstwie nie występuje jednolity model zatrudniania pracowników. Na kształt stosunku pracy pracowników akademickich zdecydowany wpływ ma swoista normatywna relacja, jaka zachodzi pomiędzy kodeksem pracy a ustawą o szkolnictwie wyższym. Wskazać należy, że ustawa o szkolnictwie wyższym nie ma charakteru regulacji wystarczającej. Reguluje w sposób co do zasady wystarczający te kwestie, które wymagają – z uwagi na swój charakter – odmiennej niż kodeksowa regulacji. Relacje zachodzące między tymi dwoma aktami mają charakter zróżnicowany, który wynika z konstrukcji art. 5 Kodeksu pracy. Na kształt stosunku pracy wpływ mają unormowania statutowe. Każda szkoła wyższa w ramach swojej autonomii może dane kwestie uregulować różnie, tworząc wiele hybrydowych modeli stosunku pracy.

Parental instructions of Wacław Rzewuski for his son Seweryn and daughters from the years 1754 and 1763/64 The education of younger generations had long and rich traditions in the old Polish aristocratic Rzewuski family. The domestic and foreign education of sons in particular played a major role in building the power and social position of the family. The main purpose of this article is to present hitherto unknown sources on the history of the education of members of this family. Between 1754 and 1763 (or 1764) four instructions have survived, written by Wacław Rzewuski for his son Seweryn and two daughters: Teresa Karolina and Ludwika Maria Róża. The first instruction for Seweryn Rzewuski comes from the period of his studies in Warsaw (1754), when the young magnate attended the college of Theatines. In this piece of writing, the father gives detailed instructions on the civic education for his son. This instruction contains advice on how to behave properly during social gatherings and religious ceremonies. It also refers to the rules of the moral education of the young boy. The second instruction for Seweryn contains advice on the protection of the family residences in Podhorce and Olesko and was associated with the political situation in which Waclaw Rzewuski and his sons lived in the years from 1763-1764. However, the two instructions for his daughters are a real rarity. Wacław Rzewuski paid great attention to their security and safety and very good presence. One of the instructions was devoted to the conditions and circumstances for short journeys by the daughters to a nearby church or monastery. In particular, it concerns the staff of the daughters' traveller suite. Another talks about being cautious with fire during their stay in the palace in Podhorce. The subject of the study is the Bologna Process, its assumptions and course. The article contains an analysis of the Act on university education and science in order to indicate solutions for the harmonization in Poland under the Bologna movement. This movement is characterized as an example of European integration (harmonization) in the sphere of higher education, which was initiated by the Bologna Declaration of 19 June 1999. The main idea behind this declaration was the joint creation of the European Higher Education Area. The process initiated then goes beyond the scope of activities undertaken only by European Union governments. The analysis covers the following parts: The scope of the Bologna Process, Further European actors and the Sorbonne Declaration, The Bologna Process today, Implementation barriers was well as criticism.
