On 29 October, 1986, the UK declared a 150-mile interim conservation and management zone around the Falkland Islands. Argentina's policy of signing bilateral fishery agreements covering the Falklands' waters with the USSR and Bulgaria were immediately relevant to the British move. In many ways the conservation zone is unique in international law, and its delimitation aspects in the Patagonian coast region still have to be worked out. A multilateral solution acceptable to Argentina is still desirable

This article is an effort to assess one aspect of the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976: the structure and the composition of membership of Regional Fishery Management Councils. In Part I, the article briefly reviews the conservation and management problems facing United States fisheries. It also considers the objectives of the Act and the relationship of these objectives to the economic criteria normally employed for the assessment of the impact of legislation on the general welfare.

Die Landschaftsökologie als Wissenschaft von der Mensch-Umwelt-Beziehung im weitesten Sinne ist als Fachbereich zwischen unterschiedlichen Disziplinen angeordnet. Sie stellt den Zusammenhang Mensch-Natur-Raum in den Mittelpunkt ihrer Theorie, aber auch ihrer praktischen Arbeit. In dieser Studie werden die ökologischen Veränderungen beschrieben und bilanziert, denen das Ökosystem Rhein/Rheinaue vom früheren anthropogen unbeeinflußten bis hin zum gegenwärtig anthropogen stark beeinflußten Zustand ausgesetzt war. Ein umfangreicher Anhang (Diskette) enthält neben einem ca. 3500 Titel umfassenden chronologischen Literaturverzeichnis ein Expertenverzeichnis, Übersichten über Forschungsprojekte, laufende Rhein-Meß- und Untersuchungsprogramme sowie Vorschläge für künftige Beobachtungsstandorte. Darüber hinaus sind die graphischen Darstellungen zur Entwicklung der stofflichen Belastung des Rheins von allen relevanten Meßstellen wiedergegeben

The purpose of our study is to test close range photogrammetry as an engineering tool, in an architectural project for two different sites. The first is an urban site in Reims (Champagne, France), where we are studying the conversion of an eight hectares wide waste ground, left vacant following old military barracks. The second is the old malt house of Ingwiller (Alsace, France), where it is necessary to establish the survey of existing buildings, and test the ability of current spaces to spring up again an activity. The two project scales are different: one is urban, whereas the other one is in the domain of building architecture. One must be able to seize their context by a global outline of their study areas, as well as know their dimensions. Such projects requires appropriate analysis tools. Multiple-view photogrammetry can become an additional and effective tool for architectural engineering, through the use of a digital model of existing buildings. The use of a digitized representation in the very early phases of design allows to directly work with shapes and building volumetry, and to choose the working point of view independently of the initial photos. The use of the PhotoModelerTM software package makes it possible to integrate the production of a digital model during the architectural design phase. This study allows us to test compatibility in the concurrent evolution of the digital model and of the architectural project. One must serve the other in a permanent and continuous evolution. ; Notre objectif est de tester la photogrammétrie rapprochée comme outil de conception dans le projet architectural pour deux sites différents.
