Socrates can be said to have left the subsequent philosophical tradition with the problem of the relation between philosophy and politics. Already in the Republic the proposal of philosopher-kings represents more a tension than an identity. While Aristotle responds by insisting on a sharp distinction between politics and philosophical wisdom, this distinction proves on closer examination much less sharp than might appear. Heidegger characterizes philosophy as the only authentic politics and the philosopher as ruling just by virtue of being a philosopher. In contrast, Foucault insists that, if philosophy can play a role in relation to politics by transforming the subject who lives politically, it plays no role within politics. In this contrast can be seen the 'fallout' of the tension bequeathed by Socrates through both Plato and Aristotle.

The possible linkages among liberty and power is a philosophical issue that gets to special important inside to contemporary political philosophy's context. During this stage, a notion of legitimacy began to develop on which both freedom and power would be sustained, without being justified in a supposed statalist originin. Neither the legitimate power no the legitime freedom come to be backing by the juristic order up in the first instance, inasmuch up its source would be prior.

AbstractFundamental categories of a specific interpretation of Being in Western philosophy has been brought into cuestion over the second half of twentieth century by different currents such as feminist philosophy. Key concepts in contemporary thinking as subject, community or politics have entered into crisis. What can we say about them today? The contributions of feminisms in this respect are crucial, mainly because of their attention to the problem of difference and the multiplity identities. In this article, we analyze the way in which these contributions contribute to rethinking ontology and politics, with the aim of tackling a key debate in the present moment of systemic or civilizing "crisis": how to build a life that is alive from the premise of equality, but without renouncing at the same time the recognition of differences. Keywords: feminist philosophy, difference, incompleteness, common, policy.

Abstract: In the current context of post-globalization, some categories that were used for sociological analysis have been rethought as a consequence of the new global scenario. One of those essential categories of the political life of modern society has been left-right cleavage, used as a tool or cultural artifact where the public orders, simplifies and signifies politics within a nation-state.
