This article is devoted to the concept of "woman" in world culture. The study examines the icons of the female image in different cultures of the peoples of the world. In a world where there is no science, the biological characteristics of a woman, many aspects of the relationship between men and women remain in the dark, behind a screen of shyness. However, as the scientific way of thinking spreads in a culture, untimely constraints decrease. From this point of view, the topic of this study is still relevant for cultural consideration. It also addresses the issue of female semiosis in world culture.

A survey conducted by "Centre for Socio-economic and Humanities Research" at the Kama Polytechnic Institute in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny in October 1999 represents a specific material for the analysis of age differences in the political culture within a particular area - a major industrial city of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Acta Slavica Estonica is an international series of publications on current issues of Russian and other Slavic languages, literatures and cultures. This volume continues the tradition of publishing studies on the history and culture of the Old Believers in Estonia. It includes research papers on the topic, as well as transcripts of recorded texts from the Old Believers. The special focus of the volume is on the island Piirissaar, its history, architecture, people and their language, customs and traditions.

To understand the depth of transformations in all spheres of society generated by
migration, new terminology is needed. The notion of "postmigrant societies" implies that the
distinction between local and migrant population loses its relevance in certain social spheres.
According to the familiar epistemological framework, societies are presented as consisting of
"local population" on the one hand, and "migrant population" on the other. This understanding,
however, is becoming obsolete. First, it does not reflect the fact that the phenomenon of spatial
mobility is embedded in the social structure. A significant part of the so-called local population
is itself included in migration processes. People who are considered to be part of the
"autochthonous population" are in fact migrants themselves due to different circumstances
(contract work, long-term stay in another country due to studies, involvement in joint business
projects, participation in international scientific teams, availability of real estate abroad, etc.). At
the same time, those people who are regarded as "migrants" by common sense can be well
integrated into the social institutions of their new homeland. Second, the traditional
epistemological framework does not reflect contemporary demographic trends. It is unable to
capture two points: (a) population rotation within the framework of circular/pendulum migration;
(b) qualitative change in the urban population of industrialized countries.

The author continues on the role of RSDLP (Вolsheviks) libraries in preparing the revolution in Russia (see Scientific and Technical Libraries. - 2017. - Issue 6. - P. 100-110) and examines V. Lenin's view of the libraries' role in the revolutionary struggle. The author refers to historical sources to suggest that libraries played important organizational and propagandist role in preparing Bolshevist revolution, and were the real strongholds of the Party. ; В продолжение темы о роли библиотек партийных организаций РСДРП(б) в подготовке революции в России (см. Науч. и техн. б-ки. - 2017. - № 6. - С. 100-110) рассматриваются установки В. И. Ленина относительно роли партийных библиотек в революционной борьбе. Со ссылками на исторические источники проводится мысль о том, что библиотеки, в том числе созданные российскими социал-демократами легально и повсеместно, играли большую организаторскую и пропагандистскую роль в подготовке большевистской революции, были действительными опорными базами партийных организаций.

Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the specificity and transformation of the research field of the collective memory of migratory communities. It was shown that the era of multiculturalism, which contributed not only to an increase in the number of studies, but also to the expansion of the very aspects of the study of the topic, played a key role in the study of the memory of migratory communities. Three main areas of research were identified and analyzed: a) personal and group memories of migration, as well as the specificity of the collective memory of various migration groups; b) the study of collective perceptions of the past of migrants in the context of the politics of incorporation and the politics of memory of host societies; c) study of the representation of the historical experience of migrations and migratory communities in museum practice. The idea was substantiated that the theoretical and practical potential of addressing the memory of migratory communities contributed not only to the transformation of the research optics of memory studies, but also showed the inevitability of significant changes in the understanding of ontology of collective memory. This found expression in the actualization of the transcultural turn, focused on overcoming methodological nationalism and considering collective memory not only within the framework of certain cultures or communities, but also it's dynamic beyond cultural and social boundaries. The article analyzes the significance of the transcultural turn for research into the collective memory of migrants. ; Статья посвящена анализу специфики и трансформации исследовательского поля коллективной памяти миграционных сообществ. Показано, что ключевое значение для исследований памяти миграционных сообществ сыграла эпоха мультикультурализма, которая способствовала не только увеличению числа исследований, но и расширению самих аспектов изучения темы. Были выявлены и проанализированы три основных направления исследований: а) личностные и групповые воспоминания о миграции,а также специфика коллективной памяти различных миграционных групп; б) изучение коллективных представлений о прошлом мигрантов в контексте политики инкорпорирования и политик памяти принимающих обществ; в) изучение репрезентации исторического опыта миграций и миграционных сообществ в музейной практике. Обосновывается мысль, что теоретический и практический потенциал обращения к памяти миграционных сообществ способствовал не только трансформации исследовательской оптикиmemory studies, но и показал неизбежность существенных изменений в понимании онтологии самой коллективной памяти. Это нашло выражение в актуализации транскультурного поворота, ориентированного на преодоление методологического национализма и рассматривающего коллективную память не только в рамках определенных культур или сообществ, но и ее динамику за пределами культурных и социальныхграниц. В статье проанализировано значение транскультурного поворота для исследований коллективной памяти мигрантов.

The paper analyses the reasons for a special attitude towards patriotism in Russian culture. It studies works of foreign and domestic scientists on patriotism, and considers the history of Russian patriotism. The author points out that in Russia, the concept "patriot" comes into general use in the 18th century. Since the reign of Peter I, patriotism takes on a form of a state ideology. In the epoch of Catherine and in the 19th century, patriotic ideas receive a new impetus due to the domestic and foreign policy pursued at that time.The events of the 20th century – the revolution, the Civil War, the building of a new socialist society – made their amendments in the content of patriotic ideas. The split in Russian culture following the revolution revealed itself in different understanding of patriotism and its implementation. Using all means available, culture and art played an important part in instilling love for the motherland in young people. During perestroika and later, the collapse of the Soviet Union, the attitude towards the motherland and patriotism began to change; it was inappropriate to write or talk about them. The term "patriotism" disappeared from dictionaries and encyclopedias.Today, a solution to a lot of domestic issues is needed to accomplish the objective of patriotic education. There are a lot of factors that prevent patriotism strengthening in Russia: growing corruption in the top government echelons, absence of social fairness, a colossal split in the levels of income of the population, unavailability of high quality medical care to the majority of people, unemployment, especially among young people, etc. ; В статье анализируются причины особого отношения к патриотизму в России. Анализируются труды зарубежных и отечественных ученых о патриотизме, рассматривается история российского патриотизма. Отмечается, что в России понятие «патриот» входит в обиход с XVIII в. Со времени царствования Петра I патриотизм принимает форму государственной идеологии. В Екатерининскую эпоху и в XIX в. идеи патриотизма в связи с проводимой внутренней и внешней политикой получат новый импульс.События ХХ в. — революционные события, Гражданская война, строительство нового социалистического общества — внесли свои коррективы в содержание идей патриотизма. Разлом в русской культуре, произошедший после революции, проявился и в разном понимании патриотизма и его реализации. Важную роль в воспитании у молодежи любви к Родине сыграли литература и искусство, которые всеми доступными средствами способствовали этому. В период перестройки, а затем и распада Советского Союза стало меняться отношение к Родине, патриотизму, о них неприлично было писать, говорить. Из словарей, энциклопедий исчез и сам термин «патриотизм». Сегодня для успешной реализации задач по патриотическому воспитанию потребуется решение многих внутренних проблем. Укреплению патриотизма в России мешает рост коррупции в высших эшелонах власти, отсутствие социальной справедливости, колоссальный разрыв в уровнях доходов населения, невозможность для большинства людей получать бесплатную высококвалифицированную медицинскую помощь, безработица, особенно среди молодежи и т. д.

Статья посвящена рассмотрению дискуссии между А.Я. Гуревичем и Л.М. Баткиным, которая внесла значительный вклад в становление «несоветской» медиевистики. Цель исследования состоит в определении характерных черт полемики между А.Я. Гуревичем и Л.М. Баткиным, ее значения в процессе трансформации эпистемологического поля отечественной исторической науки. Теоретической основой статьи стали принципы интеллектуальной истории. Исследование осуществлено на основе сравнительно-исторического и историко-генетического методов. В настоящей работе проанализированы взгляды А.Я. Гуревича и Л.М. Баткина на ряд методологических вопросов, которые оказались в центре прений между учеными. В публикации делается вывод о том, что рассматриваемый диспут затрагивал вопросы о культурной и социальной сущности личности, о реализации личностью функций внутри общественных структур, о причинах и механизмах изменения культурных ценностей и доминант. Трактовка понятия «личность» определяла выбор подхода к изучению общества. Если для А.Я. Гуревича личность является порождением социально-культурной системы конкретной эпохи, а особенность личности заключается в оригинальном соединении общих черт культуры, то для Л.М. Баткина личностью является индивид, который, руководствуясь общими нормами и установлениями, пропускает их через свое сознание и словно вновь порождает нормы и ценности. Согласно Л.М. Баткину, «осознающая личность» – начало преодоления стереотипов и матриц общественного сознания. В этой связи подход А.Я. Гуревича был нацелен на реконструкцию общественных стереотипов и матриц, определявших поведение людей. Л.М. Баткин анализировал выдающиеся литературные произведения, которые, по мысли ученого, открывают в исследуемой культуре ее изменение и трансформацию. Ряд тезисов, высказанных Л.М. Баткиным в ходе полемики, был воспринят и интерпретирован Ю.Л. Бессмертным, А.Л. Юргановым, А.В. Каравашкиным, И.Н. Данилевским и оказал влияние на формирование их научно-исследовательских программ. Ученые сошлись во мнении, что средневековую культуру необходимо изучать исходя из особенностей развития самой культуры, следует уделять внимание пониманию специфики культурного языка, особенностей мышления и самовыражения исследуемой эпохи, надлежит учитывать уникальные черты культуры и использовать принципы герменевтики в качестве методологической основы интерпретации письменных источников.
he article is devoted to the discussion between A. Gurevich and L. Batkin, who made a significant contribution to the development of "non-Soviet" medieval studies. The purpose of the study is to determine the characteristic features of the controversy between A. Gurevich and L. Batkin and its significance in the process of transformation of the epistemological field of Russian historical science. The principles of intellectual history constitute the theoretical foundation of the article. The study was carried out on the basis of comparative historical and historical genetic methods. The present work analyzes the views of A. Gurevich and L. Batkin on a number of methodological issues that were at the center of the debate between the scholars. The author concludes that the dispute under consideration raised questions about the cultural and social essence of the individual, about the implementation by the individual of his functions within social structures, and about the causes and mechanisms for changing cultural values and dominants. The interpretation of the concept of personality determined the choice of approach to the study of society. While for A. Gurevich, the personality is a product of the socio-cultural system of a particular era and the peculiarity of the personality lies in the original combination of common features of culture, L. Batkin views the personality as an individual who, being guided by general norms and regulations, lets them go through his consciousness and as if generates norms and values again. According to L. Batkin, "the conscious personality" is the beginning of overcoming stereotypes and matrices of social consciousness. In this regard, the approach of A. Gurevich was aimed at reconstructing social stereotypes and matrices that determined people's behavior. L. Batkin analyzed outstanding literary works, which, according to the scholar, reveal change and transformation in the culture under study. A number of points made by L. Batkin during the polemic were perceived and interpreted by Yu. Bessmertnyi, A. Yurganov, A. Karavashkin, and I. Danilevskii and influenced the formation of their research agenda. The scholars agreed that medieval culture should be studied proceeding from the peculiarities of the development of the culture itself; attention should be paid to understanding the specifics of the language of culture, features of thinking and self-expression of the era under study; unique features of culture should be taken into account; it is required to use the principles of hermeneutics as a methodological basis for the interpretation of written sources.

The article analyzes Lak proverbs with the religious cultural code. The research was based on the descriptive method, syntactical analysis, morphological analysis and cognitive analysis. The proverbs collected from 3 books of Lak proverbs were analyzed from the point of view of semantics, axiological connotations, syntax and morphology. Semantic analysis revealed 6 groups of lexemes: (1) denominations of people; (2) words related to religious pillars and rituals; (3) words related to holy scriptures, religious attributes and terms; (4) words denoting death and afterlife; (5) words denoting commendable religious acts and notions; (6) words denoting sin and punishment. In the course of the axiological analysis there have been defined proverbs with positive evaluation of a person and proverbs with negative characteristics of a person. Positive traits include honesty, piety, decency, erudition and diligence, while negative ones include insulation, indecency, hypocrisy and negligence in the religious worship. Syntactical analysis of the Lak proverbs has revealed the presence of adverbs of asyndetic structure within which there have been established adversative, concessive and comparative relations, as well as of proverbs with copulative and disjunctive conjunctions. Some of the proverbs are based on the principle of alogism. Morphological analysis of the proverbs has revealed the most frequent grammatical tense, the Present Affirmative Tense, which is formed by means of adding the affix -r to the present participle. The Present Affirmative Tense in the Lak language denotes an action as an attribute of the subject which explains the fact of usage of this tense in proverbs that summarize the social experience of the native speakers. Lak proverbs with the given code have not been researched earlier that makes this study relevant.
