; The aim of this research is to determine the nurses' perceptions about discrimination in the work environment and patient care practices. The data of the descriptive study has been obtained from 291 nurses who were working in a private and a public university hospital located in the European region of Istanbul and were selected by convenience sampling method. The data have been collected with a questionnaire form consisting of 39 expressions in a 5-point Likert type, created by the researcher. The cut-point was taken as 2.00 points and represented the point of indecision. It has been interpreted that the expressions above this score are perceived as high level of discrimination and the statements below are perceived as low level of discrimination. Among the statements with the highest average score perceived as discrimination about patient care, the first three statements have been found as, "Nurses; think that non-companion patients increase nurses' workload (mean=2.49), pay more attention to VIP patients (mean=2.42), see the care of bedridden patients as an increase in workload (mean=2.36)". Among the statements with the highest average score perceived as discrimination in working environment, the first three statements have been found as, "The fact that doctors have a higher level of work sanction power on working staff than nurses (mean=2.64), Managers not being objective while evaluating the performance of employees (mean=2.50) and Cigarette smoker nurses using more rest periods during working hours (mean=2.45)". Besides, it has been determined that the average values of discrimination perception differ according to some demographic characteristics of the nurses.

University education may influence attitudes toward gender roles. The awareness of students in the field of health services about the gender inequalities they will encounter both during the education process and in the future while providing health services will play a role in providing health services in a more effective and equitable way. In order for university students to approach men and women with an egalitarian perspective at an early age, their gender stereotypes must first decrease and their perspectives on social relations must change positively. Therefore, university education can play an important role in influencing gender perception and attitudes towards gender roles. There is no special course on prejudice and discrimination in the training programs of Vocational Schools of Health Services that train health technicians in Turkey. Based on this, this study aimed to examine the effect of the training program given to raise awareness of prejudice, stereotypes and discrimination on the gender perception and attitude of students who will provide health care in the future. For this purpose, answers were sought to the following questions: Is there a difference in students' gender perceptions of prejudice and discrimination before and after training? Are there any differences in students' gender role attitudes regarding prejudice and discrimination before and after education? Is there a relationship between gender perception and attitudes towards gender roles? As a method, a single-group the pretest-posttest semi-experimental method was used. The research was conducted with students taking the Prejudice and Discrimination course at the Vocational School of Health Services. 95 second-grade students participated in the research. The reason why sophomore students from the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation program, the Pharmacy Services program, and the Occupational Therapy Program were selected in the study is that the "Prejudice and Discrimination" course is given in the second-grade student spring semester. Descriptive Information Form, Gender Roles Attitude Scale (GRAS), and Gender Perception Scale (GPS) were used to collect data. Before the course program started, GRAS and GPS were administered to the participants as a pretest. Afterwards, a fourteen-week course period on "Prejudice and Discrimination" was carried out. At the end of the course, GRAS and GPS were administered to the participants as posttests. According to the students' descriptive characteristics, it was found that the mean age of the participants in the study was 21.6±3.3, and that 73.7% of them were female. According to the study, most students' mothers (56.9%) and fathers (38.9%) had completed elementary school. The families of 73.7% of the participants are nuclear families. The students' average number of siblings was found to be 2.8±2.1, and the majority (51.6%) of them had both brothers and sisters. The investigation discovered that 43.2% of the students lived primarily in the city center. Most students who participated in the study said that the Black Sea region was where they spent most of their lives (46.3%). The research revealed that prejudice and discrimination training provided via online distance education methods did not affect the gender perception and gender role attitudes of second-year Vocational School of Health Services students (respectively; p = 0.890, p = 0.976). However, a positive relationship was found between gender perception and attitudes towards gender roles (pretest r = 0,825, p < 0,01; posttest r = 0,893, p< 0,01). While the total scale score of women was higher than men according to GPS and GRAS scores according to sex before the training (GPS, p = 0.002; GRAS, p

; This study sets out to find out whether there is a political discrimination towards the employee recruitment and work-life in the organization by the perceptions of employees and employers. ; Discussion about migration became one of the main subjects on the political agenda in Germany, especially in 2015 when the country experienced an intense flux of immigrants. There was a general election in 2017, and far-right parties gained votes at a high level. During the election campaign, central parties took advantage of xenophobic discourse and commitment, and as such they were in compliance with the political atmosphere. Is Germany indeed an immigrant country or does Germany need to accept immigrants from a rational perspective? The reality of having an aging population and the growing scarcity of qualified/ unqualified staffs are often emphasized by some politicians and bureaucrats. By considering a possible scenario and using quantitative research methods, this study reveals how the German population would be considered in the future and whether Germany is an immigrant country. The increase in the aging population triggered the need for a young population because well-trained young immigrants were leaving the country. Unfavorable news about immigrants is generally at the top of the country's agenda, and their contribution to the country is often downplayed. Germany as a country of immigrants has completely been forgotten. This study examines the increasing demand for immigrants in context of demographic transformation as well as corresponding to xenophobia, escalation of racism, and a tendency to commit violence, which have been on the rise in the last several years. The study also discusses possible results.

; Social relations, social systems and the overall integrity of the so-called social structure, containing many elements of a great partnership. ; Islamophobia, which has become a movement against Islam and Muslims, defined today as the fear of Islam and has become a threat to the world at the global level. Islamophobia is used in the international arena as means to overcome the discrimination used in the domestic and foreign policies of Western countries, especially the United States. There is no standardized Islamophobia. Islamophobia practices are observed in India, Thailand, China, Europe and the United States. Although the reasons are different, the common point is that fear of Islam and antIslam. Islamophobia increased with the attacks of September 11, 2001 and became the center of foreign policy of Western states. Since then, Muslims in Western countries has been discriminated even if they are citizens of that country. Migrants and Muslim refugees have been targeted, excluded and marginalized in the Western world, particularly in the United States. Due to the Western policy on Islamophobia, intolerant, racist and nationalist far-right parties have emerged and gained wider in Europe. If this situation continues like this, the peace of the world will be in danger and the thesis of the clash of civilizations of Huntington will be justified. Far-right, racist movements that cause Islamophobia, which have proliferated in recent years, are rapidly gaining power around the world. This study aims to identify the historical and political origins and causes of Islamophobia that threaten the peace of the world. It also aims to determine the methods to be used in the fight against Islamophobia. Islamophobia emerged in the Western world and there are historical, cultural, religional, economical, political and social reasons.

--- This study examines the effect of gender equality policies on of European Union (EU) member countries from feminist theory. The distinction between public and private space that is built by gender inequality restrains women from political decision-making. Main argument in this study is that European Union, that has constitutive focus on economics, institutionalized gender equality as its mainstream politics after the Treaty of Amsterdam; however, the emphasis of gender equality varies within member countries since they have different types of political and financial agenda and welfare state models. In this study, comparative case analysis methods are applied to examine political participation of women in European Union member counties. For this research, political participation of women is discussed from feminist approach. In the process of European integration, European Union policies focuses on economic interests instead of aiming political participation of women in terms of gender equality. Lastly, this study compares Italy, as a charter member of European Union, which has weaknesses for promoting gender equality and Slovenia, as an former socialist country, which is still relatively in a better position for promoting gender equality even though it met with gender equality criteria of EU in 2004. To sum up, European Union was not able to institutionalize gender equality as its mainstream politics. The impact of EU"s political structure for promoting gender equality on the member countries is limited because of the fact that the differences between political and historical agendas of these counties and their welfare state models are the factors that have a visible impact in this context. In consequence, this research points that policies of European Unions on gender equality in terms of political participation of women are insufficient and the impact of its structure on its members are limited. In this direction, this study aims to fill the gap in the literature.
