From demand economy to economy of supply?
In: Moscow University Economics Bulletin, Heft 1, S. 58-76
In this article the authors question the effectiveness of Russia's government policy aimed at transition from demand economy to economy of supply. The authors argue that Russian financial policymakers incorrectly treat cyclical budget deficit as structural. Such approach creates an additional barrier to an aggregate demand growth in Russia's economy, which still remains in recession. Revival of financial policymakers' trend to excessive accumulation in the National Welfare Fund, post-election cuts in budget social spending and infrastructure investment together with extremely high interest rates pose a considerable threat to the national security. Revealing the effect of restrictive fiscal and monetary policies on deepening the recession, the authors identify the growth dilemma for Russia's economy — either an inevitable halt or a radical shift to a new quality.
Kaliningrad and Europe: economy
The reason for studying this interaction between Europe and Kaliningrad is multilayered. Kaliningrad is even today in a tricky position, its complex past and present cause it great uncertainty. The Kremlin on the political level is carefully controlling this former Prussian–Soviet exclave. However, Europe surrounds the area. In essence, European interaction has caused European ideas, money, and culture to seep back into the Kaliningrad territory. Kaliningrad enjoyed its European connections. On the other hand, it felt alienated by Russia's isolationist and anti-separatist policies over the years. Since 2014, this interaction has been complicated by Russian and European disagreements about the annexation of Crimea. This document examines the connections between Kaliningrad and Europe from the collapse of the Soviet Union to 2016. The development of this fascinating interaction between a Russian exclave and the west is presented in the introduction of this paper. The exact link being under scrutiny are economic ties with Europe. Two sub-themes were examined completed in order to further explain in more detail the relationship between the two entities. For economic ties, the author discusses the internationalization of the formerly local economy of Kaliningrad and tourism. In addition to these two, the conclusion expresses the author's belief on what has occurred and why. For the research of the aforementioned subject, various sources were used. Both western and Russian archives, official documents, official information, academic journals, books, and respected mass media resources were utilized.

The Development of Classical Political Economy — an Endoteric Basis for Developing the Theoretical Economy
The article presents an analysis of the endoteric basis of the concept, developed by the author, of the theoretical economy. In the author's view, this basis is provided by the development of classical political economy in its highest expression, Marxism. The article stresses the priority role of classical political economy within the framework of the above-mentioned concept as a tool for investigating the substantive aspects of the categories under study. The author considers that at the same time, the function of examining only the forms, taken in isolation, in which these categories manifest themselves belongs to neoclassical and institutional methodologies. In such a capacity, the concept of the theoretical economy positions itself as a new paradigmatic mainstream in socio-economic research.

In: Moscow University Economics Bulletin, Heft 1, S. 208-225
The article traces the impact of innovation on employment and workers income during industrial revolutions. The aim of the study is to identify the business model that contributes to improving the well-being and reducing negative impact of innovative transformations on employees. To achieve this goal, we analyze: the conceptions of industrial revolutions; the "Engels pause", which arose during the First Industrial Revolution as a "surge" in inequality due to the contradiction between productivity growth and profit, on the one hand, and the stagnation of workers' real incomes, on the other; the effect of replacing manual labor with automated one; the problems of technological unemployment; the digital business model of sharing economy. The findings report conclusions concerning the change in economic development paradigm as a result of the replacement of classical consumption models by sharing economy business model, on the prospects of the sharing economy business model in the context of its ability to solve employment problems, overcome technological unemployment and increase employees' income. The achieved results can be useful for policymakers and corporate structures that design innovative development strategies.
