Der vorliegende Band stellt in drei Hauptkapiteln die aktuellen Entwicklungen in der qualitativen Bildungsforschung dar. Es wird erstens die Entwicklung qualitativer Methoden und Forschungsansätze in der Erziehungswissenschaft in Brasilien und Deutschland in einem allgemeinen Überblick zusammengefasst, einschließlich der verschiedenen Bereiche der Bildungsforschung und ihrer Professionalisierung. Der zweite und dritte Teil des Bandes bezieht sich speziell auf die dokumentarische Methode, die in den letzten 20 Jahren entwickelt wurde und gegenwärtig in verschiedenen Forschungsbereichen angewendet wird. Diese Methode wird exemplarisch für verschiedene Themen der Bildungsforschung aufgezeigt und am Beispiel der Interpretation von Text- und Bildmaterial verdeutlicht. Die Einleitung der Autoren orientiert sich am Aufbau des vorliegenden Bandes. Nach einigen allgemeinen Informationen über bestehende Kooperationen im Bereich der qualitativen Forschung werden Überlegungen zur Bedeutung qualitativer Methoden in der Erziehungswissenschaft sowie zu aktuellen Debatten und Herausforderungen in Brasilien und Deutschland angestellt. Es wird außerdem eine kurze Einführung in die Ursprünge, die gegenwärtige Entwicklung und die aktuelle Bedeutung der dokumentarischen Methode in der Erziehungswissenschaft gegeben. (ICI)

The author looks into the impacts of transformation research on comparative educational studies. Academic disciplines involved in transformation research are political science, economics, sociology and cultural anthropology. In this context, he sees educational science in a minor dependent position among the dominating disciplines as far as the foundations of transformation theory are concerned. But in the areas of historical and empirical studies, he sees education research in a significant role. Three main targets have been given particular attention in transformation processes: market economy, liberal democracy (both as a poltico-institutional category and as a way of life) and civil society. Looking on transformation research from a comparative perspective, the author sees special attention be paid to the functions of educational transformation processes whereby supportive, contributing and anticipating components are distinguished. His concluding considerations are focused on the need for micro-analyses and an increase of comparative work. (DIPF/Orig.).

An introductory essay to a section on "Stories from the Field" notes that the contributors offer a wide variety of examples of the diverse ways in which scholars in the field of feminist science studies have initiated a constructive discourse between feminism & education. They relate the challenges & struggles involved in trying to make connections between disparate places. In addition, the many successes have helped to develop an effective critique of science & feminism that is being integrated into education in both the sciences & women's studies. A discussion of the movement to reform science education at the elementary, high school, & university levels stresses transformative strategies intended to place a feminist analytical perspective into the goals for education. Ways to build critical thinking about the myth of a universal "Western" scientific framework into the curriculum for science majors are examined, along with the need to produce subsequent generations of teachers willing to challenge the accepted version of scientific culture. 18 References. "Der Beitrag betrachtet die Auswirkungen internationaler Migration auf das schulische Bildungssystem in Deutschland. Ausgehend von den unterschiedlichen Bildungserträgen der Schüler(innen) mit und ohne Migrationshintergrund wird der Frage nachgegangen, wie diese Unterschiede zustande kommen und welche Ursachen ihnen zugrunde liegen. Aus einer Analyse der regelhaften Bildungsberichterstattung, der Schulstatistik sowie empirischer Bildungsstudien werden Handlungsempfehlungen an die Adresse von Bildungsforschung, Bildungsmanagement und an die pädagogische Praxis abgeleitet. Ansatzpunkte sind bei der exakteren Dokumentation von Migrationsbiographie und Sprachfertigkeit zu suchen, gefolgt von gezielter Bildungsberatung und einer durchgehenden Sprachförderung bis zum Abschluss der Sekundarstufe. Besonderes Augenmerk - sowohl in der Forschung als auch in der kommunalen Praxis - ist zudem auf institutionelle Diskriminierung, die ausgrenzenden Folgen von Wohnsegregation und die Integration der Migrant(inn)en in den Arbeitsmarkt zu richten. Education is one of the most frequently used variables in social science research. However,
it is challenging to measure educational attainment with a high degree of validity and comparability in migrant surveys. In migrant surveys, respondents were educated in various different educational systems. Rather than providing specific response options for the qualifications available in every country of origin, migrant surveys often use generic response options (such as "secondary education") that supposedly work equally well for respondents educated in all kinds of educational systems. Given the lack of universal understanding of such generic categories, we have doubts whether this approach leads to reliable, valid, and comparable data. To improve the measurement of educational qualifications obtained abroad, GESIS has developed a new tool in the project "Computer-assisted measurement and coding of education in surveys" (CAMCES). In this paper, we present how migrants' education is usually measured in the German IAB-SOEP Migration Samples and the alternative measurement using the CAMCES tool implemented in the IAB-SOEP Migration Samples 2015 and 2016. We analyze the coverage of educational systems in the CAMCES tool, compare the level of item nonresponse and non-coded responses affecting the standard and the CAMCES instruments, and examine the consistency of the resulting education variables. The paper concludes by discussing benefits and limitations of either measurement approach, and by giving an outlook of possible applications of the CAMCES tool.

"Seit etwa zwei Jahrzehnten ist eine Konjunktur rund um das Thema Körper zu beobachten. Während in den sozialwissenschaftlichen Debatten offenbar das Wissen vom vergesellschafteten Körper eine wachsende Anerkennung genießt, wird nun in einigen neueren Arbeiten gefragt, inwiefern man bei leiblichen Empfindungen und Erfahrungen davon sprechen kann, dass sie sozial erzeugt sind. In Auseinandersetzung mit poststrukturalistischen und phänomenologischen Theorien wird versucht, einen Körperbegriff zu entwerfen, der beide Dimensionen enthält, also 'Körperwissen' und 'Leiberfahrung' zusammenbringt. Deutlich wird in diesen Arbeiten, wie schwierig ein solches Vorhaben ist: die Natur eines sozial konstruierten Körpers zu denken, ohne ihn gleichzeitig wieder zu naturalisieren. Ausgehend von diesen Beobachtungen geht die Verfasserin der Frage nach, wie solche Naturalisierungen sich zu Vorstellungen über den sozial erzeugten Körper bezogen auf Erziehungs- und Bildungsprozesse in der Institution Schule verhalten. In einer diskurstheoretisch und -analytisch angelegten Studie untersucht sie anhand verschiedener Schulzeitschriften sowie Materialien eines ethnographischen Forschungsprojektes in einer Schulklasse, wie Körper und Körperlichkeit dort thematisch werden. Welche Konzepte des SchülerInnen- bzw. LehrerInnenkörpers werden in der Debatte explizit oder implizit aufgegriffen? Inwiefern werden Körperkonzepte in didaktischen Programmen formuliert? In welche Praktiken sind solche Körperkonzepte eingelassen bzw. in welchen werden sie wie artikuliert? An unterschiedlichen diskursiven Figuren, die nach Textsorten und Bildern variieren, zeigt sich, wie zum einen 'Vergesellschaftung' und 'Naturalisierung' als Wissenskategorien miteinander konkurrieren und zum anderen miteinander in ein scheinbar widerspruchsfreies Verhältnis gesetzt werden: beispielsweise wenn der 'Körper im Zivilisationsprozess' negativ besetzt wird und damit positiv die Forderung 'Zurück zur Natur' einhergeht." Unter dem Leitbegriff der Bildung hat sich im PISA-Kontext eine grundlegende Neuakzentuierung der Bildungsziele vollzogen sowie die Initiation einer die gegenwärtige Bildungswissenschaft bestimmenden empirischen Bildungsforschung, aus der folgenreiche Entwicklungsvorhaben abgeleitet worden sind. Sie alle werden im Beitrag im Sinne einer elaborierten Vorstellung von effektiver Bildung auf ihre Stärken und Begrenzungen untersucht. Die Frage nach dem Verhältnis von Bildungsforschung und Bildungstheorie führt aufgrund der Analyse der neu vermessenen bildungswissenschaftlichen Landschaft zur Erkenntnis, dass wir es nicht mit der erwarteten Polarität zu tun haben. Es findet sich vielmehr eine Pluralität von teils konkurrierenden, sich teils ergänzenden Wissenschaftsformen alten und neuen Typs vor. Von Wissenschaftler/innen, die in der bildungswissenschaftlichen Nach-PISA-Szene souverän bleiben wollen, wird eine breit angelegte Kompetenz verlangt, welche die Wissenschaftsformen übergreift und dadurch neue Perspektiven der Kooperation eröffnet. (DIPF/Orig.).;;;With respect to the guiding German-language concept of "Bildung" (education) within the context of PISA a fundamental process has taken place in Germany of restructuring and redefining educational goals. Current educational science is determined by this process and by the initiation of empirical educational research leading to serious development projects. In this contribution examples of all of them are presented and analyzed with regard to their fundamental strengths and limitations directed towards an elaborate imagination of universal education within our knowledge society. Based on the analysis of the thus remeasured educational scientific landscape, the question of the relationship between empirical educational research and educational theory does not indicate the expected polarity between educational theory and educational research results. On the contrary there can rather be found a plurality of sometimes competing and partly complementary forms of science of the old and of the new type. Scientists who wish to remain sovereign in the field of post-PISA educational science are required to show a broad competence covering the different form of science in order to open new perspectives of cooperation. The paper aims to reveal some relevant issues about Europeanisation of higher education in the area of administrative sciences in Romania. Europeanisation as global process in the European space is supported and promoted through a specific legislative framework as well as relevant institutional mechanisms. Since 2005, by applying the provisions of Bologna Declaration, the whole configuration of the Romanian higher education has significantly changed. Based on comprehensive empirical researches, the paper approaches and describes both "the Europeanism degree" for the content of the educational process in bachelor, master, doctoral studies in administrative sciences and the social perception of the phenomena and processes deriving from and influencing the Romanian public administration reform, training needs for each academic cycle, graduates' insertion in the labour market. The data and interpretations provide the basis of a comparative analysis of higher education in the area of administrative sciences in NISPAcee members as well as the opportunity for further development of researches and regional debates on this topic.
