This paper examines the process of EU enlargement using public choice theory. It starts by outlining the history of EU enlargement, & continues by examining the theoretical approaches to European integration. The third section explores the different theoretical perspectives on enlargement, after which the fourth section explains the use of public choice theory in international relations. The fifth section offers a cost-benefits analysis of enlargement, & the final section analyses the functions of citizens & politicians. Adapted from the source document.

The theory of coalitions has been a significant part of political science analysis since 1960. We can distinguish two traditions in the theory of coalitions -- the American tradition & the European one. While the American theory of coalitions puts an emphasis on game theory, the European theory of coalitions focuses on political culture, traditions & social environment. The two traditions evaluate existing coalitions differently. This article demonstrates these different approaches by analyzing governmental coalitions in Saxony in the 1990s. Figures, References. One Hundred Years of Solitude – mapping of a temporary networkUsing the case of the LARP One Hundred Years of Solitude, based on the book by Gabriel García Márquez, this article presents the process of the game's formation by mapping interactions leading to the constitution and upkeep of the game reality. In the description of the game's development as a temporary autonomous network, special emphasis is put on the rise of the game's agency. The process of LARP's evolution is presented as a chronological action, beginning in the moment when the game is too weak to be autonomous, and follows the process of recruiting mediators as a necessary precursor to the players' connection into the game's network. Furthermore, the process of the players taking over recruitment activity is presented, followed by the final stage, when the game and characters acquire an active role in steering the game themselves. The article is inspired by actor-network theory, which offers multiple ways of analysing interactions, as well as the consolidation and subsequent dissolution of the game network. By creating a map of game interactions, the article tries to present an alternative perspective to the traditional concept of the magic circle.

Importance of risk & uncertainty in present period of dynamic changes grows. The article deals with risk & uncertainty in strategic decision making. First the concepts of risk & uncertainty & possibilities of their measurement are discussed. Further shortcomings of strategic decision making from the point of view risk integration are described. The emphasis is on discussion of decision making methods under risk & uncertainty (including decision tables, scenarios, Monte Carlo simulation, real options, decision trees, multicriteria utility function under risk, theory of games & methods of portfolio development) as supporting tools for strategic decision making. In the last part of the article some recommendations for integration of risk & uncertainty in strategic decision making based on scenario approach are suggested. Figures, References.
