The article investigates the institutional conditions for gender mainstreaming in policies for women and the LGBTQIA+ population in the Brazilian State of Rio Grande do Norte (RN), regarding their (dis)connection with the Federal Government, from 2003 to 2021. Based on documents and interviews, we carried out process-tracing of the institutional conditions of these policies (entities and mechanisms) in RN, considering three coordination levels (intersectoral, participatory, and federative). The results indicate that the structuring of institutional conditions was marked by a combination of advances and discontinuities of which the ideological orientation of governments was the decisive factor. We did not identify a federative system of gender mainstreaming characterized by collaborative and dialogic dynamics between federative entities. When present, federative coordination favoured a top-down approach, mainly through induction.
The article discusses how Judith Butler's theory of gender, mainly based on what the author called metaphysics of substance, operates a desontologization of sex-gender experiences. For this, it exposes how Butler operates the desontologization of the gendered subject, through her feminist critique of the idea of subject conceived from the mark of sexual difference. Later, it dedicates to what Butler called the "metaphysics of substance", seen as what sustains, within the framework of the binary sex-gender system, the idea of natural difference of bodies, a moment in which the author resorts to the genealogy of morals developed by Nietzsche to justify her genealogy of gender and bodies, seeing these as inseparable, which is why she concludes that, in the manner of gender, the production of bodies occurs in a performative way through contextualized recitations that establish the boundaries of human intelligibility and that, therefore, it is subject to transformation.
The study aims to analyze the influence of gender on the relationship between Work-Family Enrichment (ETF and EFT), Organizational Citizenship Behaviors (OCC) and the possible moderating effects that EFT may have on the ETF's relations with the dimensions of the CCO scale among Brazilian Air Force military personnel. Through a quantitative study, the analyzes were performed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and multigroup analysis (MGA) method. The results demonstrate that the relationship between the dimensions of the ETF and the dimensions of the CCO are equal between genders. However, the research makes it possible to know the characteristics that contribute to the Work-Family Enrichment process and to the manifestation of Organizational Citizenship Behavior.
Introduction: The metabolic syndrome consists of a set of factors that, when associated, are associated with a higher risk of developing cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes, and is thus an important public health problem. The objective of this study was to estimate the prevalence of this syndrome in the Portuguese population, and to evaluate possible associations with demographic and socioeconomic determinants. Material and Methods: Based on the 1st National Health Survey with Physical Examination of 2015, a cross-sectional epidemiological study was conducted on a representative sample of the Portuguese population (n = 4797) aged between 25 and 74 years old. The prevalence was estimated for the total population and each gender, stratified by age group, health region, type of urban area, marital status, education, professional status, and risk of poverty. The magnitude of the associations was measured with adjusted prevalence ratios. Results: In the Portuguese population the estimated prevalence was 33.4% [95% CI, 31.7 - 35.1] [35.6% in men (95% CI, 31.9 - 39.2) and 31.3% in women (95% CI, 28.5 - 34.2)]. In both genders, the highest prevalence was significantly associated with increasing age, widowed/married/de facto partners and those with lower levels of education. There was no association with gender, health region, type of urban area, professional status or risk of poverty. Discussion: This syndrome was present in a third of the Portuguese population. The knowledge of its epidemiology enables the identification of population groups with higher cardiovascular and metabolic risk. Conclusion: Metabolic syndrome was independently associated with specific groups. This knowledge reinforces the importance of a holistic assessment of the health determinants associated with the metabolic syndrome.
AbstractOur objective is to analyze the relationship between gender and jurisdictional action in the Court of Justice of Pará, composed mainly of judges, in terms of the effectiveness of women's human rights. We seek to problematize the hypothesis of a "different voice", recurrent in research on women in the legal profession - after all, the greater presence of women in the judiciary may bring a different perspective? The methodology used is qualitative, having as a privileged instrument of data collection semi-structured interviews with the judges of the organ. We conclude that the jurisdictional performance of the interviewees is influenced by an androcentric reading of the principle of impartiality, which suppresses any signs of difference, either from the judges or from the jurisdictional ones. These results point to the need to rethink not only the male culture imbricated in the legal profession, but, mainly, the foundations capable of serving as a solid theoretical basis to ensure gender equality (and other markers of social differences) in the Judiciary. Keywords: Democratization of the justice system; Women's rights; Difference argument.

Objective: Post-modern society has brought about major transformations and challenges in the political, economic, technological, and social spheres. Liquid modernity directly impacts interpersonal relationships, which have been reconfigured by new technologies in a great social showcase (apps). Therefore, this article aims to present the main characteristics of user profiles in dating apps, seeking to answer how these users are different and which variables are relevant to identify them. Approach: An online survey was conducted, based on the modeling scale of Ranzini and Lutz (2017) built from demographic, psychological, motivational, and self-presentation variables. A total of 318 questionnaires were collected and, using SPSS software, descriptive, cluster, and discriminant analyses were performed. Results: The results showed the profile differences between four types of dating app users: "Liquid Human," "The Loner," "The Player," and "The Empowered". These profiles have heterogeneous behaviors, shaped mostly by gender and psychological issues (loneliness, self-esteem, and narcissism) and motives related to sex and entertainment. Limitations: As limitations of this research, we can indicate the difficulty in ensuring the veracity of the answers since the interviewees were not approached directly, and the questions involved personality and self-reflection. Value: This study reaffirms arguments already discussed by other authors about how emerging technologies are changing the way interpersonal relationships happen but advances academically in the sense of systematizing four user profiles in dating apps, as well as their uses and social purposes. The stereotype of the Latin woman is commonly associated with sexuality. Brazilians seem to be particularly burdened by this stigma among Latin women worldwide. As immigrants, intersected by other matrices of oppression in addition to those of gender and race, for example, these women bear various marks remaining from Eurocentric coloniality that belittles and silences them (Mignolo, 2000/2003), a circumstance that is aggravated when the country of emigration is their coloniser. This article explores resorting to cyberspace as a forum for denunciation and feminist activism through a case study of the profile @brasileirasnaosecalam based on content analysis. The project appeared on the digital social network Instagram to anonymously report the harassment, discrimination and prejudice that Brazilian immigrant women suffer in Portugal, specifically for carrying their own nationality. Thus, through cyberactivism, which is also feminist activism, women are now experiencing a new cycle of political opportunities driven by the building and consolidation of ties among them around the globe, breaking down binarisms, including those between the first and the third world, in an appeal to cross-border articulation (Timeto, 2019). That shows the relevance of pursuing an ontological vision underpinned by a decolonial and intersectional feminist perspective that uses cyberfeminism as an ally to interconnect the digital and the real space. This article aims to investigate the intersections of gender/race in the socio-spatial trajectories of black filmmakers, with a view to understanding the strategies they use to face racism and sexism, in their filmmaking and in their leisure experiences. The research is based on the contributions of decolonial thought, intersectional black feminism, critical studies of leisure and cinema. The methodology of this qualitative research included a bibliographic study and in-depth interviews with seven black filmmakers, which were analyzed using the Discourse of the Collective Subject-DSC technique. The main strategies that have the power of meaning to face racism and sexism in filmmaking and in the leisure experiences of the interviewees are the narratives of themselves, participation in associations of black collectives and film festivals with a black theme and the experience of a "differentiated leisure", which can be critically enjoyed, even if it is necessary to advance towards subverting the social, cultural and political reality established in our context. In conclusion, the socio-spatial trajectories of black filmmakers unveil inequalities aiming to break with the stereotyped social imaginary, reaffirming the relevance of an "unsubmissive leisure".
This article aims to introduce and expand on the concept of popular feminism in Latin America based on the case of women from the favelas who are recognized for their social and political activism. To this end, we will start from feminist and decolonial epistemologies that enable us to recognize the resistances generally made invisible by the coloniality of gender and often ignored by hegemonic feminism. Methodologically, this study is based on qualitative research in which interviews were conducted with 110 women in 105 favelas throughout Rio de Janeiro. We rely mainly on their answers to the question about whether or not they consider themselves to be feminists and why. As such, we propose an expanded definition of popular feminism that is characterized by the specific subjectivity of these women, their networking, a radical commitment to the favela, and a differentiated temporality of action in the city.
DOI:10.1590/2179-8966/2022/65135 ApresentaçãoMarço 2022 Nossas saudações a todas e todos! Boa Leitura! Equipe Direito e Práxis***EditorialMarch 2022 Our greetings to all of you! Despite the new conflict in the Ukraine, we stand firm in the hope that 2022 will be a year of changes and improvements in the world situation, and particularly in Brazil! Here we would like to announce the first issue of 2022 of the Journal Law and Praxis (v. 13)! As usual, we bring new manuscripts in all our sections: unpublished articles, dossier, reviews, and translations! The theme of Covid 19, as it could not be otherwise, is still present, with papers that analyze the pandemic in its different connections: democratic recession, digital platforms, and emergency measures. Political-legal issues and dilemmas appear in articles that analyze processes of struggles for rights and, ultimately, democracy itself. In a broader context we have a critical review of constitutionalism of 1988, already in more specific contexts the articles bring consistent studies, also of critical nature, on the issue of race, violence against women, the "right to disconnection" in the world of work, the recognition of transgender people, the parliamentary struggle for rights of the Roma. The issue of transitional justice appears in approaches within the Brazilian and Ecuadorian scenarios. Gender issues and policies are also present both in an approach from legal pluralism and decolonial thinking and in an institutional approach to the Judiciary. Finally, the issue of otherness in its political dimension and pragmatic uses. Undoubtedly, the reader will be confronted with provocative and stimulating works from different perspectives. In the first Dossier of the year 2022, carefully organized by the guest editors Carina Calabria and Flavianne Nóbrega, both from the Federal University of Pernambuco, we bring a discussion as important as it is urgent regarding the indigenous issue, whether through studies that report and denounce the disrespect and violation of rights, or through studies that seek mechanisms to guarantee the rights of these original peoples. Important connections are made not only with law, but also with anthropology, sociology, and politics. Questions of good life and of a different anthropological referential help us to think outside the parameters of colonial and Eurocentric modernity. In this same perspective follow the translation of the article "Writing Beyond Distinctions" and the review of the book Xukuru: Memories and History of the Indians of the Serra de Ororubá.As always, we warmly thank everyone who contributed to this issue of the Journal: authors, translators, and guest editors. ; The current article draws on Judith Butler's gender performativity theory to analyse two classical text of Greek Antiquity – theBacchaeby Euripides and TheRepublicby Plato. The concept of gender performativity will be used to illustrate analogously even anachronically, how much the Greek imaginary, in spite of being temporally distant, can fruitfully contribute to, what we would identify as one of the most sophisticated contemporary theories in contemporary gender studies, both as this imaginary emerges from the literary discourse of the tragedy or the discourse of philosophy. This will allow us to show how the two above mentioned texts can contribute to the contemporary debate on the critical theory of gender identity, as these are fixed in performative acts that make gender conform to anatomic sex, limiting gender to the two possibilities of masculine or feminine. Considering the historical context and the question that are specific to the world of Ancient Greece, our analysis will permit us to cast light, in particular, on the strategies that Plato and Euripides drew on to disrupt the gender norms of the polis. Examining the texts allows us to argue that in antiquity, as well as in the contemporary world, albeit in different ways, discussions of gender relations are fitted primarily by the political discourse regarding these relations.

This study aimed to identify how female players perceives manifestation of violence/abuse on the online gaming environment. It is a cross-sectional descriptive study using qualitative research, with violence in the virtual environment as a variable. It started in July 2018 and it finished in November 2018. Data were acquired in two cities: Juazeiro do Norte and Crato (State of Ceará, Brazil). It was used a semi-structured interview which has been finished with saturation. All interviews were processed by the software IRAMUTEQ, v0.7 alpha 2. During the research process 13 (thirteen) female players participated, most of them are 20 to 35 years old, students and single. From the responses collected, it was possible to elaborate two different thematic categories: The first one addresses the types of violence suffered in online games, with emphasis on the psychological one, materialized in swearing and sexual harassment; and the second, the motivations of sexual violence in online games as a result, in part, of the presence of women in this environment. It was concluded that gender abuse happens in every single male dominant environment (such as online gaming). Thus, encouraging the reporting and the punishment of aggressions, and the inspection of these environments can democratize such spaces.
